A display on a front, back or side of a vehicle, linked to an on board computer or a can-bus of said vehicle for displaying changes in the trajectory of the vehicle, wherein rear display provides a non-binary illuminated warning in response to detected changes in trajectory of the vehicle.

Image projection apparatus

An image projection apparatus that can be attached to a vehicle and can be effectively utilized for acquisition of road surface condition information, detection of a hidden vehicle, and the like is provided. The image projection apparatus that projects an image includes: an acquisition unit that acquires information related to a vehicle; an image projection unit that projects an image based on the information acquired by the acquisition unit; and imaging means that acquires an image outside the vehicle, the image projection unit projects light in a wavelength band centered on a wavelength of 1.4 m and the imaging means provides the information related to the vehicle by imaging an image projected based on the light in the wavelength band centered on the wavelength of 1.4 m.

Lighting system

A front module (3) is disposed in a front portion of a vehicle (2). An upper module (5) is disposed on a ceiling surface (22) of the vehicle (2). The front module (3) includes a front light source (31) and a front sensor (32). The upper module (5) includes an upper light source (51) and an upper sensor (52).

Radar detection system for non-contact human activation of powered closure member
10934764 · 2021-03-02 · ·

A radar detection system for activation of a powered closure member of a vehicle and corresponding method are provided. The system includes a radar sensor assembly having a radar transmit antenna for transmitting radar waves and a radar receive antenna for receiving the radar waves after reflection from an object in a detection zone. The radar sensor assembly outputs a sensor signal corresponding to the motion of the object in the detection zone. An electronic control unit is coupled to the radar sensor assembly and includes a data acquisition module to receive the sensor signal and a plurality of analysis modules to analyze the sensor signal to detect extracted features and determine whether extracted features are within predetermined thresholds representing a valid activation gesture. The electronic control unit initiates movement of the closure member in response to the extracted features being within the predetermined thresholds representing the valid activation gesture.

Systems and methods for providing information about vehicles

Aspects of example systems and methods described herein discuss providing indications from a vehicle to other locations based on a variety of attributes. Indications may take the form of an indicator message. Indications may include information associated with whether one or more vehicles are platooning. Indications may be prevented from being distributed if one or more vehicles are not platooning. Law enforcement may be able to receive information indicating whether a vehicle is platooning in order to know whether to issue a ticket to the vehicle.

Notification device

A notification device provided in a vehicle and configured to notify pedestrians of information includes a recognition unit configured to recognize, based on a result of detection performed by an external sensor, a plurality of pedestrians, a notification unit configured to perform notification about the information with respect to an outside of the vehicle, and a notification controller configured to generate the information, about which the notification unit performs notification, for each pedestrian in response to recognizing the plurality of pedestrians by the recognition unit and to cause the notification unit to perform notification about the generated information for each pedestrian.

Vehicle control system and column traveling system

A vehicle control system applied to a column traveling system includes: a communication unit that is disposed in a host vehicle, and configured to be able to transmit/receive communication information to/from another vehicle in a column that travels while being included in the column as a group together with the host vehicle; an output unit that is disposed in the host vehicle, and configured to be able to output a visual system output related to the sense of sight to the outside of the host vehicle; and a controller configured to be able to perform intra-column cooperation processing of controlling the output unit to cause a plurality of the visual system outputs to cooperate with each other in the entire column based on the communication information. As a result, the vehicle control system applied to the column traveling system enables appropriate column traveling to be performed.
