The present invention relates to a lighting system 200 of an automotive vehicle comprising: —an image capture device (205) configured to acquire an image (I) of a road (R) of travel of the vehicle, said road (R) comprising lanes marked on the road (110); —a lighting module (215) configured to project road markings on the road (120); wherein said lighting system (200) is configured to filter the projected road markings (120) on the road compared to the lanes marked (110) on the road.

Vehicle display system and vehicle

A display system provided in a vehicle includes: a road surface drawing device configured to emit a light pattern toward a road surface outside the vehicle; and a display control unit configured to control the road surface drawing device. The display control unit stops emission of the light pattern in response to detection of a light pattern emitted from a vehicle.

Automated driving enabled vehicle

An automated driving enabled vehicle includes a travel controller, an automated driving indicator lamp, and a lamp controller. The automated driving indicator lamp is configured to be switched on perceptibly from outside the vehicle on the occasion of automated driving. The lamp controller is configured to start a lighting control of the automated driving indicator lamp that has been off, before the vehicle makes a departure by the automated driving, on the condition that the vehicle is about to make the departure by the automated driving from a parked or stopped state with the automated driving indicator lamp off.

Vehicle lamp system comprising a computer adjusting the color or direction of a lamp based on a road user's gaze direction
11597314 · 2023-03-07 · ·

A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to receive sensor data indicating a road user, determine a gaze direction of the road user based on the sensor data, and adjust at least one of a color or direction of a lamp of a vehicle based on the gaze direction.

METHODS FOR EXECUTING AUTONOMOUS RIDESHARE REQUESTS
20230060762 · 2023-03-02 ·

One variation of a method for executing autonomous rideshare requests includes: following arrival of an autonomous vehicle proximal a pickup location specified in a rideshare request submitted by a user, setting a user arrival timer for a first duration and a depart timer for a second duration exceeding the first duration; serving a state of the user arrival timer to a mobile computing device affiliated with the user; rendering a state of the depart timer on an external display arranged on the autonomous vehicle; in response to failure of the user to arrive at the autonomous vehicle prior to expiration of the user arrival timer, departing from the pickup location without the user; and, in response to the user arriving at the autonomous vehicle prior to expiration of the user arrival timer, departing from the pickup location with the user prior to expiration of the delay timer.

AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION
20230064950 · 2023-03-02 ·

Various technologies described herein pertain to controlling an autonomous vehicle to provide indicators to distinguish the autonomous vehicle from other autonomous vehicles in a fleet. The autonomous vehicle includes a vehicle propulsion system, a braking system, a notification system, and a computing system. The notification system outputs an indicator that is perceivable external to the autonomous vehicle. The computing system receives data specifying an identity of a passenger to be picked up by the autonomous vehicle. Moreover, the computing system controls at least one of the vehicle propulsion system or the braking system to stop the autonomous vehicle for passenger pickup. Further, the computing system controls the notification system to output the indicator; a characteristic of the indicator outputted by the notification system is controlled based on the identity of the passenger to be picked up and whether the autonomous vehicle is stopped for passenger pickup.

VEHICLE EXTERIOR DISPLAY DEVICE
20230120392 · 2023-04-20 · ·

A vehicle exterior display device includes: an own vehicle position information acquisition unit that acquires position information regarding an own vehicle; a crosswalk position information acquisition unit that acquires position information regarding a crosswalk; a surrounding information detection unit that detects a pedestrian existing around the own vehicle; a display unit that has a display region visually recognizable from the outside of the own vehicle and is capable of changing a relative position between the display region and the own vehicle; and a display controller that changes display information displayed by the display unit and changes the display region in which the display information is displayed, based on a positional relationship among the own vehicle, the crosswalk, and the pedestrian.

VEHICLE RECORDING DEVICE AND INFORMATION RECORDING METHOD
20230063930 · 2023-03-02 ·

A vehicle recording device includes: a mode acquisition unit configured to acquire a signal indicative of an operating mode of an autonomous driving processing unit; a recording target setting unit configured to change a recording target in accordance with the operating mode; and a recording processing unit configured to store information of the recording target set by the recording target setting unit into a data storage unit. The recording target setting unit is further configured to: set a face image of an occupant in a driver's seat as the recording target when the autonomous driving processing unit operates in a level 3 mode; and not set the face image as the recording target when the autonomous driving processing unit operates in an occupant involvement mode.

DANGER NOTIFICATION METHOD, DANGER NOTIFICATION DEVICE, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM

A first object approaching a vehicle in a first direction and a second object approaching the vehicle in a second direction are detected. In response to detection of the first object and the second object, the first object is notified about the presence of the second object by using a notification device, and the second object is notified about the presence of the first object by using the notification device.
