The at least one ultraviolet light source is operably coupled to the at least one visible light source. The lighting device is configured for strobing the visible light and ultraviolet light sources by turning the at least one ultraviolet light source on upon the at least one visible light source turning off and turning the at least one ultraviolet light source off upon the at least one visible light source turning on such that a reflectance material of an object, which is not being illuminated by the at least one visible light source, is illuminated by the at least one ultraviolet light source.
REAR-END COLLISION AVOIDANCE
A method and apparatus for use in traversing a vehicle transportation network may include a host vehicle receiving a remote vehicle message including remote vehicle information, identifying host vehicle information, determining a relative position code indicating whether an expected path for the remote vehicle and an expected path for the host vehicle are convergent based, determining a remote vehicle dynamic state code based on the remote vehicle information, determining a host vehicle dynamic state code based on the host vehicle information, identifying an expected rear-end collision condition based on the relative position code, the remote vehicle dynamic state code, and the host vehicle dynamic state code, in response to identifying the expected rear-end collision condition, identifying a vehicle control action based on the host vehicle dynamic state code, and traversing a portion of the vehicle transportation network in accordance with the vehicle control action.
Hazard turn lights
An emergency turn signal system for vehicles having brake lights with a rear central brake light, and having left and right turn signals, and having a hazard flasher light control operable to cut out the turn signal control, and cause the turn signal lights to flash on and off, and having left and right rear emergency turn signals and an emergency turn signal switch, connected to a power source independently of said hazard flasher, and having right and left wiring connected to the emergency turn signal switch; right and left turn signal light modules along side the rear central brake light having respective right and left bulbs connected to respective right and left wiring from the emergency turn signal switch.
Pedestrian marking systems
Pedestrian marking systems, vehicles containing the same, and methods of providing pedestrian marking lighting are disclosed. A system includes a light emitting module having light emitting diodes, a sensor module, and a master controller. The master controller is includes a storage medium with instructions that direct the master controller to receive data from the sensor module, where the data provides an indication of a pedestrian located in the vicinity of the vehicle, determine location coordinates of the pedestrian, determine a direction of light based on the location coordinates such that the light is aimed at the pedestrian, direct the light emitting module to selectively activate the light emitting diodes such that the light emitting diodes produce a collective beam that corresponds to the first direction, determine that the vehicle is turning in a direction towards the pedestrian, and provide a notification to the pedestrian that the vehicle is turning.
Vehicle having a lighting device with an elongate lighting unit
The present invention relates to a vehicle (1), particularly a motor vehicle, with at least one illuminating device having a longitudinally shaped illuminating fixture for creating a light strip along a defined line of the illuminating fixture, wherein a first section (2, 2′) of the illuminating fixture is arranged on the interior (3) of the vehicle (1) and a second section (4, 4′) of the illuminating fixture is arranged on the exterior (5) of the vehicle, the illuminating device is set up so as to create a similar light strip along a line of the first (2, 2′) and of the second section (4, 4′) of the illuminating fixture, and the light of the light strip created by the first section (2, 2′) of the illuminating fixture is radiated such that it is visible for an occupant located at a definable position on the interior of the vehicle (1), and the light of the light strip created by the second section (4, 4′) of the illuminating fixture is radiated such that it is visible from a definable position relative to and outside of the vehicle (1).

Device and method for assessing accident risks to a moving vehicle
A method for assessing accident risks to a moving vehicle (100; 110) includes continuously monitoring (s410) a surroundings configuration while the vehicle (100; 110) is in motion, continuously determining (s420) running characteristics for the vehicle (100; 110), continuously registering (s430) the surroundings configuration in order to create and provide an idea about chosen characteristics of the surroundings passed by the vehicle using the running characteristics and the idea as a basis for assessing (s440) accident risks related to the surroundings passed by the vehicle (100; 110). Also a computer program product includes program code (P) for a computer (200; 210) for implementing the method. Also the device and a vehicle equipped with the device.
Vehicle and control method thereof
A vehicle includes: a camera obtaining an external view of the vehicle and acquiring illuminance data; a radar detecting a target object located outside the vehicle and acquiring radar data; and a controller including at least one processor for processing the illuminance data acquired by the camera and the radar data acquired by the radar.
REAR-ROAD SURFACE ILLUMINATION APPARATUS
A rear-road surface illumination apparatus is provided which includes: an avoidance determiner 30 to determine whether to provide a display to induce a following vehicle to avoid a vehicle, on the basis of vehicle information; and a controller 9 to cause an illumination light 10 to illuminate a rear road surface with light having illumination information that induces the following vehicle to avoid the vehicle when the avoidance determiner 30 determines to provide a display to induce the following vehicle to avoid the vehicle. Therefore, the rear-road surface illumination apparatus can indicate the existence of the vehicle to the following vehicle, to give the existence of the vehicle prominence, and can also make it easy to notify the driver of the following vehicle about what the driver of the vehicle desires the driver of the following vehicle to do.
