A vehicle hazard alert assembly for increasing safety during an automobile accident includes a plug is electrically coupled to an OBD-II port in a vehicle. A motion sensing unit is electrically coupled to the plug and the motions sensing unit includes an accelerometer. Thus, the motion sensing unit can sense acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle. Moreover, the motion sensing unit communicates an alert signal to the plug when the motion sensing unit senses motion of the vehicle that is consistent with collision avoidance maneuvers. The plug communicates the alert signal to the computer module thereby facilitating the computer module to turn on the hazard lights of the vehicle. In this way the motion sensing unit alerts oncoming motorists of a potential collision hazard.

A vehicular collision avoidance system includes a remote communicator disposed exterior and remote from the vehicle and operable to communicate information regarding location and motion of the remote communicator relative to the vehicle. A receiver at the vehicle receives a communication from the remote communicator, and a control at the vehicle includes a processor that processes information communicated by the remote communicator and received at the receiver. The control, responsive to processing communicated information, determines the location and motion of the remote communicator relative to the vehicle. A side sensing device is disposed at a side of the vehicle and operable to capture data, which is processed to determine approach of the remote communicator to the vehicle. Data captured by the side sensing device and information communicated by the remote communicator are processed at the control to determine a potential collision between the remote communicator and the vehicle.

Warning signal controlling device for blind zones when vehicles making a lane change

A warning signal controlling device for blind zones when vehicles making a lane change is provided. The device is disposed inside each inner side of each rearview mirror of the vehicle, and comprises a lens masked by PMMA which is black and opaque, a mirror utilizing a light guide made of PMMA which is transparent, and a base assembly consisting of LED lamps, a PCB board and a base. The lens and the mirror are obtained by two-color molding, the PCB board is secured to the base, LED lamp holders are provided on the PCB board, the LED lamps are secured in the corresponding LED lamp holders and the base assembly is secured to the lens by ultrasonic welding.

VEHICULAR EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WITH BLIND SPOT INDICATOR MODULE

A behavior control method for controlling a behavior of a vehicle comprising: specifying a blind-spot region as blind-spot of an environment recognition portion along a travel route for the vehicle; determining a jump-out possibility of a moving object to the travel route from the blind-spot region; performing a possibility reduction behavior to lower the jump-out possibility, in response to that the jump-out possibility is confirmed; and performing a travel behavior compliant with the travel route after starting the possibility reduction behavior.

Resilient safety system for a robotic vehicle

Systems, apparatus, and methods implemented in algorithms, software, firmware, logic, or circuitry may be configured to process data and sensory input in real-time to determine whether an object external to an autonomous vehicle may be a potential collision threat to the autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle may be configured to deploy one or more bladders positioned external to the autonomous vehicle to absorb forces from an impact to the vehicle by the object. A perception system of the vehicle may receive a sensor signal and generate object data associated with the object. A planner system of the vehicle may process the object data to predict an impact time and an impact location on the vehicle. The planner system may cause a drive system of the vehicle to maneuver the vehicle to position an impact-absorbing structure and/or one or more bladders of the vehicle to coincide with the predicted impact location.
