Facilitating lane-splitting by motorcycles
A controller of a motorcycle determines that the motorcycle is lane-splitting. The controller transmits a notification to vehicles in proximity to the motorcycle. In response to the notifications, the vehicles facilitate lane-splitting by the motorcycle. In particular the vehicles may flash lights to communicate that the vehicle has received the notification and will facilitate lane-splitting. The vehicles may facilitate lane-splitting by refraining from performing lane changes. The vehicles may further notify the motorcycle if lane changes are needed and the motorcycle controller may provide an alert to a rider.
Vehicle-to-vehicle communication
Various systems and methods for implementing an anti-collision mechanism are described herein. A system for a lead vehicle to provide a visible light communication (VLC) message to a trailing vehicle behind the lead vehicle includes a vehicle controller subsystem of the lead vehicle, to: receive from a sensor array interface, sensor data from a forward-facing sensor incorporated into the lead vehicle; determine, using a processor, from the sensor data that a hazard exists; initiate the application of brakes with a braking force; and initiate, via a light controller, a VLC message to the trailing vehicle, the VLC message including the braking force.
NOTIFICATION CONTROL APPARATUS, NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM STORING THEREIN COMPUTER PROGRAM, AND IN-VEHICLE SYSTEM
A notification control apparatus is provided in a vehicle, and includes: a projection controller that controls projection of a crosswalk pattern onto a road ahead of the vehicle; and an erroneous preventer that prevents an erroneous start of the vehicle during a projection period of the crosswalk pattern.
NOISE ADAPTIVE WARNING DISPLAYS AND AUDIO ALERT FOR VEHICLE
An adaptive warning system and method for adapting an alert to a vehicle operator based on noise in a vehicle interior compartment, includes a loudspeaker, a dashboard display, a noise level sensing device for providing a noise value, and an electronic processor having a memory. The electronic processor is configured to compare the noise value with a first threshold and when the noise value is not greater than the first threshold, provide an audio alert at regular sound level and providing a visual alert on a dashboard display at regular indicia size in a normal alert mode. The electronic processor is also configured to when the noise value is greater than the first threshold, provide the audio alert at an increased sound level and provide the visual alert on the dashboard display having an increased indicia size in a second enhanced alert mode.

Vehicular door safety warning system
An after-market, low cost and easily installed vehicular door safety warning light system using electromechanical actuation for automatically providing a visual warning to passing traffic that a car door is opening and passengers are about to exit the vehicle. The safety warning light system includes a magnetically actuated switch to effectuate the light-emitting elements, wherein the light-emitting elements are automatically switched on only when the car door is opened and are highly visible throughout the entire opening arc of the door and do not shut off until the vehicle door is closed. The light-emitting elements are uniquely housed as a single device in a single housing or a plurality of jointed sections adapted to fit and adhere to the variable contours and inner surface areas of and along an open car door regardless of the vehicle's make or model.
VEHICLE WITH A DEVICE FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION TO A USER OF A VEHICLE, BY PROJECTING ONE OR MORE IMAGES ONTO THE GROUND
A device for providing information (DF) is fitted to a land vehicle (V) and comprises a communication module (MCN) connected to a wireless communication network (RC). This device (DF) comprises projection means (MP1-MP3) that are installed in at least one portion (PLI, PL2, PR) of the vehicle (V) and are able to project at least one image onto the ground, and control means (MCT) determining, from items of information received from the wireless communication network (RC) by the communication module (MCN), when a detected person is about to access the vehicle (V), whether some of these items of information relate to this detected person and, if so, triggering the projection, by the projection means (MP1-MP3), of at least one image representative of these determined items of information onto the ground in immediate proximity to at least one zone (ZI) allowing access to the vehicle (V).

APPARATUS FOR MANAGING VEHICLE INTRUSION, SYSTEM HAVING THE SAME AND METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure provides an apparatus for managing a vehicle intrusion, a system having the same, and a method thereof. The apparatus for managing a vehicle intrusion includes a processor that determines presence of an occupant who intrudes into a vehicle and notifies a user of the presence of the occupant who intrudes into the vehicle, and storage that stores a result of detecting the presence of the occupant obtained by the processor. Accordingly, it is possible to detect whether an intruder who intrudes into a vehicle before, after or while a user gets in the vehicle is present and inform the user of the fact, thereby assuring safety of the user and safety of the vehicle.
PLATOONING TRAFFIC ANNUNCIATOR
An annunciator system annunciates a mode of a platoon operation being performed between first and second platooning vehicles travelling cooperatively in accordance with a selected mode of the platoon operation. First and second visual indicators generate first and second visual signals having different colors based on visual indicator command signals generated by an annunciator control unit that operates to generate the first and second visual indicator command signals based on a determined mode of the platoon operation being performed between the associated first and second platooning vehicles. The visual annunciator system may be installed on the rear of platooning capable commercial vehicles in an unambiguous location so that it is not confused with other vehicle lamps, and is of a low intensity that does not shine directly at following traffic. The annunciator system generates two different visual colors that may be illuminated and/or flashed to encode the platoon operating mode.
