NETWORK AND CONNECTED DEVICES FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND ROADSIDE OPERATIONS
20200128592 · 2020-04-23 ·

A self-assembling network is configured to automatically and dynamically connect devices used in operations carried out on or near roads bearing vehicle and pedestrian traffic. An automatic, ad hoc network connecting existing and new devices can be used to enhance safety by gathering and exchanging safety critical information. In some cases, existing equipment can be augmented with a network controller and radio frequency communications to permit the devices to join a wireless local network and exchange information over the network. New devices, including wearable devices, can be configured to act as nodes on the wireless local network. Establishing the relative position of vehicles, sensors, wearables, and other nodes on the disclosed ad hoc wireless network allows the coordination of functions based on position.

External Audio Alert System and Method for Vehicular Use
20200122638 · 2020-04-23 ·

In embodiments of the present invention, an Alert Controller coupled to an Internal Digital Communication System (IDCS) of a vehicle monitors vehicle states based on messages received over the IDCS and generates audio alerts projected external to the vehicle based on the vehicle states. Multiple vehicle states may be defined, with each vehicle state associated with receipt of one or more types of messages in a particular sequence and/or within a particular timeframe. Different audio alerts may be assigned to different vehicle states. The audio alerts may be customizable such as by the vehicle manufacturer and/or vehicle owner/operator. An alert selection interface may be provided in the vehicle for user-selection of audio alerts.

Automatic Operation Vehicle Control Unit and Automated Operation Vehicle Using Automated Operation Vehicle Control Unit
20200125089 · 2020-04-23 · ·

An automated operation vehicle control unit is configured to perform a detection process in which an abnormal condition of a passenger of a vehicle is detected and a notification process in which pedestrians are notified of the abnormal condition detected in the detection process in a case where the abnormal condition of the passenger is detected in the detection process.

MULTI-PURPOSE SAFETY ACCESSORIES
20200124245 · 2020-04-23 ·

A safety accessory for mounting on a vehicle comprises a housing having a front side and a back side, and a laterally extending mounting portion for connecting to the vehicle, a mirror mounted on the front side, and a bulb assembly within the housing facing the back side. The bulb assembly comprises a plurality of white, amber and red light sources, and a control circuit connected between light sources and a plurality of inputs. The control circuit causes the white light sources to be on when power is received at a first input, the amber light sources to flash in a standard flash pattern when power is received at a second input, the red light sources to flash in the standard pattern when power is received at a third input, and the amber light sources to flash in an emergency strobe pattern when power is received at a fourth input.

A flasher relay for driving a left turn signal lamp and a right turn signal lamp of a vehicle to flash includes a main body and a control circuit. The main body includes a base, a casing, and a circuit board. The circuit board is disposed on the base. The casing is mounted on the base and covers the circuit board. The control circuit is disposed on the circuit board. The control circuit includes a microchip having an input terminal coupled to a field-effect transistor and an electromagnetic buzzer. A drain of the field-effect transistor and one end of the electromagnetic buzzer are coupled to a node B. A heat dissipation terminal of the field-effect transistor is coupled to the node B, and the node B guides thermal energy to a wire.

Method, Device And Computer-Readable Storage Medium With Instructions For Identifying An Exit Side Of A Motor Vehicle

A method, a device and a computer-readable storage medium with instructions for identifying an exit side of a motor vehicle. In a first step, the existence of an exit situation is detected. If an exit situation exists, an exit side of the motor vehicle is ascertained. Finally, the opening of a door is simulated on the ascertained exit side. For example, a brightness can be increased on the ascertained exit side, outside sounds can be reproduced, or an air stream can be generated.
