Vehicle alarm

A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to detect an object in data received from a rear-facing radar on a vehicle and activate an alarm in response to the object moving through a predesignated region behind the vehicle at a speed below a threshold speed or for a duration above a threshold time.

Passenger safety system

A system warning the driver of a mass transit vehicle that at least one pedestrian is within an injury risk zone adjacent the mass transit vehicle. The system includes a vibration generator in or on the driver's seat of the mass transit vehicle, functionally associated with a motion sensor and an associated timer commencing sensing of pedestrian motion toward the vehicle for a predetermined duration immediately after the boarding door has been closed in preparation for departure from the boarding zone. Any such pedestrian motion toward the vehicle sensed by the motion sensor within a first risk zone adjacent the vehicle stimulates the first vibration generator to generate a first tactile signaling output perceptible by the driver sitting on the driver's seat for notification of the pedestrian motion in the first risk zone. The vibratory notification may be combined with motion-stimulated visual warning output on a monitor and/or auditory alarm output on a speaker. A plurality of different risk zones can be monitored by different sets of vibration generators, motion detectors, visual stimulus warning outputs (on a split-screen monitor) and/or sound generators for auditory alarm outputs. The system can also function in cooperation with existing safety systems such as warning lights, pedestrian crossing arms, pivot-out stop signs; of the system can include enhanced lighting such as predominantly downwardly directed flood lights mounted on the vehicle below the driver's eyesight (to prevent glare).

Interactive safety system for vehicles

An interactive vehicle safety system having capabilities to improve peripheral vision, provide warning, and improve reaction time for operators of vehicles. For example, the interactive vehicle safety system may have capabilities for portraying objects, which are being blocked by any of the structural pillars and/or mirrors of a vehicle (such as a truck, van, train, etc.). The interactive vehicle safety system disclosed may comprise one or more image capturing devices (such as camera, sensor, laser), distance and object sensors (such as ultrasonic sensor, LIDAR radar sensor, photoelectric sensor, and infrared sensor), a real-time image processing of an object, and one or more display systems (such as LCD or LED displays). The interactive vehicle safety system may give a seamless 360-degree front panoramic view to a driver.

Vehicle alert device and method

An Audio Frequency Induction Loop receiving device, an Audio Frequency Induction Loop transmitting device, a system and a method for alerting a person with impaired hearing about a moving vehicle are disclosed. The Audio Frequency Induction Loop receiving device comprises an Audio Frequency Induction Loop receiver and a processing circuitry. The Audio Frequency Induction Loop receiver is configured to receive a signal via a magnetic field generated by the Audio Frequency Induction Loop transmitting device installed in the vehicle. The processing circuitry is configured to cause the Audio Frequency Induction Loop receiving device to detect the magnetic field generated by the Audio Frequency Induction Loop transmitting device and generate an alert signal for alerting about the moving vehicle.

Provided is an autonomous driving vehicle that runs in confined areas, in which an object around the vehicle is detected by a sensing device. In the autonomous driving vehicle, an alert mode is determined depending on the distance between the vehicle and the object. A projection device projects a visible zone surrounding the vehicle on its outside in a manner corresponding to the alert mode.

ANNUNCIATION METHOD, ANNUNCIATION DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A potential collision risk between a vehicle and a potential traffic participant predicted to be present ahead in a direction of travel of the vehicle is foreseen. A first annunciation is performed notifying those in a vicinity that the vehicle is traveling, using an externally-directed annunciator installed in the vehicle, in response to the potential collision risk being foreseen. Note that when a manifested collision risk between the vehicle and a manifested traffic participant confirmed ahead in the direction of travel of the vehicle is sensed, a second annunciation notifying those in the vicinity regarding collision avoidance actions of the vehicle may be performed using the externally-directed annunciator. However, the first annunciation is prioritized over the second annunciation as long as the potential collision risk continues.

CONTROL DEVICE

A control device for controlling a host vehicle including: a processing circuitry configured to, when another vehicle traveling in a opposite direction to the host vehicle and having a possibility to collide with the host vehicle is detected in front of the host vehicle, execute an out-of-vehicle notification using a headlight based on a distance between the host vehicle and the another vehicle. When the distance is equal to or smaller than a first threshold and equal to or larger than a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold, the processing circuitry executes the out-of-vehicle notification, and when the distance is smaller than the second threshold, the processing circuitry does not execute the out-of-vehicle notification or executes the out-of-vehicle notification with a notification intensity lower than that when the distance is equal to or smaller than the first threshold and equal to or larger than the second threshold.

CONTROL DEVICE

A control device for controlling a vehicle that includes a headlight switchable between a first state and a second state in which the headlight is able to illuminate farther than in the first state, the control device including: a processing circuitry configured to execute automatic illumination switching control for setting the headlight to the first state or the second state and to execute an out-of-vehicle notification for switching the headlight between the first state and the second state at a predetermined cycle when another vehicle having a possibility to collide with the host vehicle is detected in front of the host vehicle. The processing circuitry executes the automatic illumination switching control in response to a request from a user of the host vehicle, and executes the out-of-vehicle notification in both cases where the automatic illumination switching control is set to be executed and not to be executed.

Presented are intelligent electronic footwear with controller automated features, methods for making/using such footwear, and control systems for executing automated features of intelligent electronic footwear. An intelligent electronic shoe includes an upper that attaches to a user's foot, and a sole structure attached to the upper for supporting thereon the user's foot. A collision threat warning system, a detection tag, a wireless communications device, and a footwear controller are all mounted to the sole structure/upper. The detection tag receives a prompt signal from a transmitter-detector module and responsively transmits thereto a response signal. The footwear controller receives, through the wireless communications device, a pedestrian collision warning signal generated by the remote computing node responsive to the response signal. Responsively, the footwear controller transmits a command signal to the collision threat warning system to generate a visible, audible and/or tactile alert warning the user of an impending collision with a vehicle.

ECU and lane departure warning system
11763681 · 2023-09-19 · ·

The present invention proposes an ECU and a lane departure warning system capable of improving safety of all traveling vehicles including a host vehicle by using an environment sensor to warn another vehicle about departure of the other vehicle from a lane. An ECU (13) detects the departure from the lane. The ECU (13) determines whether another vehicle (100) leaves the lane on the basis of a detection signal from an environment sensor (11), and visually or aurally warns the other vehicle (100) in the case where the other vehicle (100) leaves the lane.
