NOTIFICATION DEVICE
A notification device includes a calculation unit calculating, based on a speed of a vehicle, a vehicle stoppage distance by which the vehicle travels until the vehicle enters a stopped state while performing autonomous driving, a notification unit performing notification about information with respect to an outside of the vehicle, and a notification controller causing the notification unit not to perform notification about information indicating that the vehicle is in the middle of deceleration until the vehicle passes by a first soon-to-cross pedestrian and to cause the notification unit to perform notification about the information after the vehicle passes by the first soon-to-cross pedestrian when a distance between the vehicle and the first soon-to-cross pedestrian is smaller than the vehicle stoppage distance and a distance between the vehicle and a second soon-to-cross pedestrian is equal to or greater than the vehicle stoppage distance.
Automated warning system to detect a front vehicle slips backwards
In one embodiment, a system perceives an environment surrounding an ADV including a vehicle in front of the ADV. The system determines whether the vehicle in front is slipping backwards based on the perception. The system determines whether the vehicle in front is situated on a road with a slope based on map information. The system determines whether a tail light or a brake light of the vehicle in front is turned on based on the perception. If it is determined that the vehicle in front is situated on a sloped road, is slipping backwards, and the tail light or the brake light is not turned on, the system calculates a time to impact or a distance to impact based on the distance and speed of the vehicle in front.
IMAGE PROJECTION APPARATUS
Information related to a vehicle can be displayed by projecting an image based on the information on a road surface or the like. An image projection apparatus that projects an image includes: a sensor unit that acquires information related to a vehicle; and an image projection unit that projects the image based on the information acquired by the sensor unit.
LIGHT SIGNAL DEVICE FOR A DRIVERLESS TRANSPORT SYSTEM
A light signal device for a driverless transport system, includes a front element having a plurality of optically transparent light exit openings and at least one light generating unit having a light guide and having two light sources arranged at opposite ends of the light guide. The light guide has a plurality of light decoupling elements in order to emit light through the light exit openings. Light exit openings are arranged on the front element in a plurality of rows and a separate light generating unit is provided for each of the rows. A light signal arrangement for a driverless transport system includes a plurality of such light signal devices. A driverless transport system includes the light signal device and a controller. Use of the light signal device is for visualizing an operating state of a driverless transport system. An operating method for the light signal device is also disclosed.
System and method for reacting to signals
Provided herein is a system and method of a vehicle that detects a signal and reacts to the signal. The system comprises one or more sensors; one or more processors; a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the system to perform detecting a signal from a source; determining an intended action of the vehicle based on the detected signal; sending, to the source, a response signal indicative of the intended action; determining whether the source has sent a response to the response signal; and in response to determining that the source has sent a response to the response signal, taking the intended action based on the response to the response signal.
LANE RECOGNITION APPARATUS AND METHOD CONTROLLING SAME
Provided are lane recognition apparatuses and methods including a sensor provided at a vehicle to detect a left line and a right line of a current lane, sense a left line distance and right line distance from a middle of the vehicle to the left line and right line, respectively, and a controller configured to set a sum of the left line distance and the right line distance as a lane width, when the sensor detects both the left line and the right line, correct the left line distance or the right line distance based on a previously set lane width, when the sensor detects one of the left line or the right line, and determine a moving state of the vehicle as any one of normal, left-biased, right-biased, or lane change driving state based on the left line and the right line of the current lane.
Vehicle alert system
The Vehicle Alert System has an RF transmitter system which is activated by a steering wheel switch which in turn signals matching receivers in other nearby vehicles. Upon activation, multiple receivers on other so equipped vehicles will detect the originating direction of the alert. A single board computer (SBC) will then activate a respective speaker on the interior of the receiving vehicle to indicate the direction of the alert. A dash mounted panel with LED indicators may also be provided. The device is also capable of disabling any audio entertainment systems in the receiving vehicle thereby ensuring that the warning signal is heard. A bright front mounted purple light would alert pedestrians to potential danger.
MULTI-LIGHTING PROJECTION WARNING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE TURNING
The invention discloses a multi-lighting projection warning device for vehicle turning, which comprises a composite lamp and a control unit. The composite lamp is arranged on one side of a vehicle and combined with a range indicator light, a contour indicator light, and a text or pattern indicator light, so that the composite lamp can project lighting to a visual blind spot when the vehicle turns or reverses to form a warning area. The control unit is connected to the composite lamp to enable functions of controlling rotation and start-stop lighting of the composite lamp. Thereby, when the vehicle is turning, the invention projects composite lightings on the ground at the turning side to form the warning area, so as to actively warn other passers-by to dodge the warning area and increase the safety of passers-by.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE AND VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD
A vehicle control device includes a peripheral object recognition unit configured to recognize an object that is present around a vehicle to be controlled, an object state recognition unit configured to recognize, in a situation where a first object and a second object are recognized by the peripheral object recognition unit, states of the first object and the second object including distance between the vehicle to be controlled and the first object, distance between the vehicle to be controlled and the second object, moving direction of the first object, and moving direction of the second object, and a display control unit configured to cause the display device to execute external notification processing for displaying a notification to the first object or the second object based on the states of the first object and the second object recognized by the object state recognition unit.
VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for controlling a subject vehicle includes a front detection unit to detect a driving situation of a target vehicle located in front of the subject vehicle; a determination unit to detect reversing of the target vehicle or predict a collision between the target vehicle and the subject vehicle through the front detection unit; and a control unit to, when the reversing of the target vehicle is detected or the collision between target vehicle and the subject vehicle is predicted through the determination unit, generate a warning signal of the subject vehicle or control driving of the subject vehicle so that the subject vehicle avoids the collision with the target vehicle.
