A vehicle body structure includes a first surface, a closure panel, an interactive display panel and a controller. The first surface has a first edge extending along an exterior portion of a vehicle and a second edge opposite the first edge extending along an interior portion of the vehicle. The first surface at least partially defines a door opening. The closure panel is movably coupled for movement between an open position exposing the first surface and a closed position covering the first surface such that a closure panel surface overlays the first surface. The interactive display panel is disposed along the first surface and is covered by the closure panel with the closure panel in the closed position and is exposed with the closure panel in the open position. The controller is in communication with the interactive display to display user inputted data on the interactive display panel.

A vehicle driver's intention indication system comprise a display device to display a driver's intention in a rear direction; a sound input device to receive a driver voice; a sound converter configured to convert digital sound data to visual content corresponding to the driver voice; an imaging device configured to generate a vehicle rear image; a vehicle number extraction unit configured to extract a rear vehicle number from the vehicle rear image; and a vehicle electronic controller configured to control the sound converter and the vehicle number extraction unit to output the visual content and the rear vehicle number to the display device, wherein a combination of the visual content and the rear vehicle number is displayed on the display device.

An intention signaling system for an autonomous vehicle (AV) can monitor sensor information indicating a situational environment of the AV, and detect an external entity based, at least in part, on the sensor data. The intention signaling system can generate an output to signal one of an intent of the AV or an acquiescence of the AV to the external entity.

A vehicle information display apparatus includes: at least one processor configured to receive a vehicle state of a vehicle, and detect a forward object ahead of the vehicle; a flip-dot display installed in the vehicle and configured to implement a pixel by rotating a flip disk; and an illumination module installed around the flip-dot display, and configured to illuminate a surface of the flip-dot display.

An electronic signage assembly for creating and wirelessly posting messages to a display unit includes a display unit comprising a display transceiver and a control unit comprising a remote transceiver, so that the control unit is positioned for wireless communication with the display unit. The display unit also comprises a display screen. The control unit comprises an entry module, which allows for entry of a message. The remote transceiver is positioned to communicate the message, via the display transceiver, to the display screen for display of the message to persons proximate to the display unit.

A vehicle wheel illumination assembly includes a light source located on the body of a vehicle near the wheel well and oriented to direct light onto a wheel assembly having a tire. A tire pressure indicator detects tire pressure of the tire. The light source illuminates the wheel assembly with a desired color to indicate a tire pressure status based on the detected tire pressure. A photoluminescent material is located on the wheel assembly and configured to luminesce in response to excitation by the light assembly.

A vehicle messaging system for efficiently messaging other vehicle drivers. The vehicle messaging system generally includes a transparent member attached to a surface of a window of a motorized vehicle, a message attached to the transparent member, a light unit attached to the motorized vehicle and a control unit in communication with the light unit and a turn signal controller of the motorized vehicle. The control unit is programmed to automatically activate the light unit after the turn signal controller transitions from having a turn signal activated to having a turn signal deactivated. The light unit illuminates the message when the light unit is activated so that the message is viewable by a person outside of the motorized vehicle.

A recognition result presenting apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure detects a recognition target (person) present within a predetermined range from an automatic driving vehicle and presents, to the detected recognition target (person), the result of recognition indicating that the automatic driving vehicle recognizes the recognition target (person).

A vehicle may have vehicle controls that are used in steering, braking, and accelerating the vehicle. The vehicle may have sensors that gather information on vehicle speed, orientation, and position. The sensors may also gather information on relative speed between the vehicle and a following vehicle, information on risks of a collision between a vehicle and an external object, and other vehicle status information and vehicle operating environment information. Control circuitry may use light-based devices to display braking information, information on vehicle speed, the relative speed between a vehicle and a following vehicle, autonomous driving mode status information, custom brake light information or other user-selected information, or other information on vehicle status and the operating environment of a vehicle.

A projection apparatus for automobile which is releasably attachable to an exterior portion of an automobile including a projection means, microprocessor; memory module; and housing which enable a selected image to be transmitted over a wireless network to the apparatus and compared with the plurality of stored images is provided. The selected image may be stored for a period of time and displayed through the projection means onto an exterior portion of the automobile for a pre-determined period of time using a timer.
