SAFETY SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING A VEHICLE DOOR FROM OPENING INTO TRAFFIC

A system for preventing a door of a vehicle from opening into an object includes a detection module configured to identify an object within a danger zone of the vehicle and detect the opening of the door. The system further includes a locking mechanism coupled to the detection module and configured to lock the door in a partially open position if the object is identified within the danger zone and the opening of the door is detected.

System for attaching a functional measurement or detection body to a vehicle bodywork part

A system configured to attach a functional measurement or detection body to a vehicle bodywork part, the system including a support having a means for attaching to the functional body, and an interface configured to fasten the support to the bodywork part, the support and the fastening interface being assembled and fitted to one another using grooves.

Image processing device and image processing method

An image processing device according to an embodiment includes an image acquisition unit, an information acquisition unit, a generation unit, a composition unit, a determination unit, and a display control unit. The image acquisition unit acquires a captured image where an image of an environment of a vehicle is captured by an image-capturing device. The information acquisition unit acquires positional information regarding a detected position of an obstacle that exists in an environment of the vehicle. The generation unit generates a virtual viewpoint image where an environment of the vehicle is viewed from a virtual viewpoint, based on the captured image. The composition unit composites a notification image that provides notification of existence of the obstacle at the detected position with the virtual viewpoint image. The display control unit controls a display format of the notification image that is composited with the virtual viewpoint image, based on the positional information.

Driving assistance system with short-distance ranging

A driving assistance system for a vehicle has a longer-distance sensor device for determining longer-distance information between a vehicle and an obstacle, and a shorter-distance sensor device for determining shorter-distance information between the vehicle and the obstacle. A dual-mode light emitting diode (LED module) can selectively emit both visible light and infrared light, and is part of the vehicle's driving-lights system, such as a headlight and/or a reversing light. The LED module emits infrared light when operating as part of the shorter-distance sensor device and an infrared receiver detects the reflected infrared light for distance determination. The longer-distance sensor device uses ultrasonic waves to determine distance information, and when it indicates that the distance has fallen below a threshold distance (below which the longer-distance sensing device is not reliable), a controller activates the shorter-distance sensing device.

ATTENTION ATTRACTING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

An attention attracting device for a vehicle includes an electronic control unit configure to: detect a plurality of types of attention information around an own vehicle; apply vibration, by using a vibrator, to a vehicular seat; display, using a display, an attention information content corresponding to each of the plurality of types of attention information; when the information detection unit detects attention information, operate the vibrator when the attention information is detected and cause a display to display the attention information content corresponding to the detected attention information when the attention information is detected.

VEHICLE LAMP ASSEMBLY

A vehicle lamp assembly is provided herein. The lamp assembly includes a circuit board, a first light source configured to direct emitted light rearwardly of the housing, and a second light source configured to direct emitted light laterally outward from the housing disposed between a housing and a lens. A temperature sensor is operably coupled to the circuit board. The intensity of emitted light from the first or second light source is varied based on a detected temperature.

Respective movements and positions of traffic participants arranged within a monitoring range surrounding a motor vehicle are captured on the front side, on the rear side, and/or laterally, by several sensors of the motor vehicle. One characteristic value per traffic participant is established which quantifies a collision probability of the motor vehicle with the respective traffic participants in dependency on the captured movements and positions of the traffic participants and the movement and position of the motor vehicle. At least one warning message is issued with respect to the traffic participants, for which the established characteristic values reach a predetermined collision probability value, wherein the warning message is signaled in which direction of the motor vehicle the respective collisions are impending.

Ultrasonic sensor and obstacle detection apparatus

An ultrasonic sensor (10) includes a transmission and reception unit (11) for transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic wave, a holder (12) and an attachment (13) for fixing the transmission and reception unit (11) to the bumper (1) of a vehicle, and light source units (14a, 14b) mounted in a back side of the bumper (1). The holder (12) is shaped so as to be exposed on a surface of the bumper (1), and guides light beams emitted by the light source units (14a, 14b) to the surface of the bumper (1), to project the light beams from a light projecting surface (12a) to the outside of the vehicle.

Systems and methods for control systems to facilitate situational awareness of a vehicle

Systems and methods for control systems for facilitating situational awareness of a vehicle are provided. Sensors located around a stationary vehicle may detect moving objects that pose potentially dangerous situations for the vehicle occupants and for the object. This can cause the doors to lock automatically in order to make the situation safer. Additionally, electromagnetic radiation sensors located around the vehicle may detect the lights and sounds of emergency vehicles. If the electromagnetic data from the electromagnetic radiation sensors match a known pattern of electromagnetic data emitted by emergency vehicles stored in a library an alarm may be sounded through the speakers of the vehicle in order to alert the vehicle occupants of an emergency vehicle in the vicinity.
