Structure for attaching component to plate-shaped member
In a structure, which securely attaches a component to an opening portion in a plate-shaped member without stripping or turning over the plate-shaped member, each of a pair of mount members includes a first engagement portion engaged with a rear surface side of the plate-shaped member and a second engagement portion engaged with the component. The component includes projecting portions to be fitted between the mount members to enable fixing against coming off by engagement of the second engagement portion and the component. The projecting portions inhibit the mount members from moving so as not to come off the opening portion. Since the second engagement portion is formed from the multiple step portions engageable with the component, engagement with the component may be done even if plate thickness of the plate-shaped member varies, enabling fixing without backlash and improving versatility to the plate-shaped member having different plate thickness.

An object detection device 1 includes a vehicle state detection section 2, an environmental situation acquisition section 3, a road information acquisition section 4, a detection control section 6, and a detection section 7. A host-vehicle state prediction section 61 acquires a target state of a host-vehicle 81. The detection section 7 detects an object. A parameter setting section 63 switches the detection characteristic of the object in the detection section 7 in accordance with the target state.

Systems, methods and apparatuses are disclosed for assessing whether a vehicle will make contact with an obstacle. The systems, methods, and apparatuses may include an obstacle sensing component configured to determine a location and a dimension of an obstacle, a vehicle sensing component configured to determine a height of a point of the vehicle relative to the ground, and a notification component configured to provide an indication of a presence of the obstacle to assist a human driver or an automated driving system in parking the vehicle without making contact with the obstacle.
Proximity Alert System
A proximity alert system includes a truck. A sensing array is coupled to the truck and the sensing array detects an object behind the truck when the truck is driven rearwardly. The sensing array emits an audible alarm when the sensing array detects the object. The audible alarm communicates a distance between the truck and the object. Thus, the sensing array inhibits the truck from striking the object when the truck is driven rearwardly.

There is provided a parking aid control system (110) and method (600) for a vehicle (200). The control system (110) is configured to receive proximity data (125) indicative of a location of one or more objects (400) in an environment of the vehicle. The control system (110) is configured to output, to a parking aid interface (500) of the vehicle, parking aid data (135) indicative of the location of at least some of the one or more objects (400). A cancellation signal (155) is received indicative of a user input for inhibiting the parking aid interface (500). A gear change signal (145) is received, the gear change signal (145) being indicative of a change in a gear selection of the vehicle. The control system (110) is configured to suppress the inhibition of the parking aid interface in dependence on the gear change signal (145).

A method for warning a back side of a vehicle provided with a rear bumper multi carrier may include determining a carrier position by determining it is in a stowed state or drawing out state of a rear bumper multi carrier when a signal Reverse (R) step of a shift lever is produced, controlling ON or OFF operation of a detector of a rear side obstacle according to the stowed state or drawing out state of the carrier, and producing a warning signal when the rear side obstacle is detected in the detector operation controlling step.
PARKING ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A parking assistance device includes: an obstacle detection unit detecting an obstacle; a target position determination unit determining a target position between a first virtual obstacle, based on a first obstacle, and a second virtual obstacle based on a second obstacle being lined up with the first obstacle in a first direction; and a route determination unit determining a first route from the position of a vehicle to the target position, and that, when while the vehicle travels along the determined first route, the obstacle detection unit has detected a third obstacle positioned between the first and second obstacles and closer to the first obstacle than the second obstacle, enlarges the first virtual obstacle, and determines a second route that avoids the enlarged first virtual obstacle and is set from the position of the vehicle to the target position.
Method for the computer-assisted processing of the vicinity of a vehicle
A method for computer-supported processing of the vicinity of a vehicle includes detecting the surroundings of a vehicle and providing surroundings data by a sensor system. The surroundings data may be processed to ascertain, for pre-specified sections of the surroundings of the vehicle, a specific distance to objects detected by the sensor system. A collision probability between one of the detected objects and the vehicle is ascertained depending on a predicted and/or actual vehicle movement determined using odometric data. Moreover, the surroundings of the vehicle are depicted on an output unit where, for at least one of the pre-specified sections, distance information between such at least one pre-specified section of the surroundings and the detected object is output using at least one of a graphic element and an acoustic element that includes collision information about a collision probability.
PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM
A method for vision assisted parking of a vehicle includes displaying video images derived from image data captured by a camera. A controller is operated in a first mode to generate a first overlay that includes a parking space representation of a parking space where the vehicle may be parked, and that is overlayed on the displayed video images at an offset position and remains at the offset position while the driver maneuvers the vehicle to position the parking space representation at a target parking location. The controller is operated in a second mode to generate a second overlay that includes (i) a representation of a predicted rearward path of travel of the vehicle and (ii) a representation of a determined target path. The second overlay is adjusted responsive to steering of the vehicle while the driver follows the determined target path towards and into the target parking location.
