Global headlamp
Systems and methods for a global headlamp. An example method includes obtaining configuration information indicative of a jurisdiction associated with a vehicle. Headlamp state information is accessed which includes multiple headlamp states. A current headlamp state of the multiple headlamp states is determined based on the configuration information. A propagation is output via a pixelated light source in a headlamp of the vehicle, the propagation representing a particular beam pattern which is compliant with the jurisdiction.
Lighting device for headlights with a phase modulator
There is provided a lighting device arranged to produce a controllable light beam for illuminating a scene. The device comprises an addressable spatial light modulator arranged to provide a selectable phase delay distribution to a beam of incident light. The device further comprises Fourier optics arranged to receive phase-modulated light from the spatial light modulator and form a light distribution. The device further comprises projection optics arranged to project the light distribution to form a pattern of illumination as said controllable light beam.
Vehicle drive assist apparatus
A vehicle drive assist apparatus includes a surrounding-condition-information acquiring unit that acquires surrounding condition information, a vehicle-state-information acquiring unit that acquires vehicle state information, a light-distribution control processor that executes light distribution control, a traveling control processor that executes traveling control in accordance with traffic lane designation, a DDI detector that detects a DDI in a front region based on the surrounding condition information and determines whether the vehicle is entering or exiting from the DDI based on the surrounding condition information and the vehicle state information, and a control switch. When the vehicle entering the DDI is detected, the control switch switches the traveling control and the light distribution control from standard traveling control to non-standard traveling control. When the vehicle exiting from the DDI is detected, the control switch switches the traveling control and the light distribution control from the non-standard traveling control to the standard traveling control.
System and method for assisted real-time control of vehicle headlight
This disclosure relates generally to controlling headlights and more particularly to a system and method for automatically controlling vehicle headlights using image processing techniques. In one embodiment, a Headlight Controlling Device for automatically controlling vehicle headlights is disclosed. The Headlight Controlling Device comprises a processor and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor. The memory stores processor instructions, which, on execution, causes the processor to collect at least one of vehicle information, vehicle speed, road information, area information, weather information or a multimedia object associated with a forward path of the vehicle. The processor further determines a current light intensity distribution of the vehicle headlight based on the multimedia object. The processor further compares the current light intensity distribution of the vehicle headlight with an optimal light intensity distribution, wherein the optimal light intensity distribution is retrieved from a database based on at least one of the vehicle information, the vehicle speed, the road information, the area information or the weather information. The processor further controls the vehicle headlight based on the comparison.
