Retaining assembly to attach one or more mobile devices to a mobile object
A retaining assembly to attach one or more mobile devices to a mobile object. The retaining assembly may include a mounting plate that attaches to the mobile object by way of a mounting bracket or scorecard clip-on. The mounting bracket provides dovetails for selecting engaging the mounting plate in different orientations. The mounting plate facilitates various magnetized components to removably attach to the mobile device. If the mobile device has a third-party extensible grip, a retaining ring may be employed to attach the mobile device or the extensible grip modified to one of the various magnetized components.
STEERING WHEEL MODULE FOR VEHICLE
A steering wheel module for a vehicle, the steering wheel module including: a steering wheel having a rim formed in a ring shape, and a body part extending from a central portion of the rim toward a vehicle and coupled to the vehicle; an airbag device coupled to the body part and having a cushion configured to be deployed toward a driver when the airbag device operates; and a display device coupled to the body part in a state in which the display device is spaced apart from the airbag device and positioned to be closer to the driver than the airbag device.
Steering Wheel Interface Module with Retained Presets
A steering wheel control interface module that can automatically detect the type of vehicle it is installed in and automatically detect the type of aftermarket radio it is sending messages to. In addition, the interface module can retain certain user pre-selects and use those to properly set the state of an aftermarket radio.
Onboard equipment operating device
An onboard equipment operating device includes a memory, a processor, a display unit, an operation unit, and an in-cabin camera. The display unit displays information regarding onboard equipment, instruction to the onboard equipment displayed at the display unit is configured to be received as a result of manual operation of the operation unit. The in-cabin camera captures images of a vehicle occupant. The processor is configured to: detect a predetermined action from actions of a face or a body of the vehicle occupant, the actions of the face or the body of the vehicle occupant being imaged by the in-cabin camera; input an instruction corresponding to the predetermined action to the onboard equipment; and display the information regarding the onboard equipment in an operatable state at the display unit, in a case in which the instruction corresponding to the predetermined action has been input to the onboard equipment.
Vehicles and wireless telematic devices management system
The present invention provides a safety control system for a vehicle with controls located on the vehicle steering wheel. The controls may be arranged in a cluster on one or both sides of the upper half of the steering wheel or on a special flange mounted to the steering wheel. The contours are easily recognizable and accessible while driving without any distraction to the driver. The controls can be enhanced by varied coloring, shape, size, and texture to make them easily identifiable. The controls can be used with portable telematics devices, in a multi-modal process in conjunction with thumb gesture interpretation or speech recognition. A universal portable device docking station may be used in conjunction with the control system.
Driver airbag apparatus for vehicle
The present invention relates to a driver airbag apparatus for a vehicle, the apparatus having a configuration in which a driver airbag module (20) is mounted on a hub (12) of a steering wheel (10) and a display (30) is mounted on a front side of the airbag module (20), wherein an airbag cover (400) is lift-opened upward by deployment pressure of an airbag cushion (200), an opening angle of the airbag cover (400) is limited by a configuration of an opening angle limiter (500) provided in an airbag housing (100) and the airbag cover (400), and deployment direction of the airbag cushion (200) is controlled by the airbag cover (400) having a limited opening angle so that that airbag cushion may avoid the display (30) and deploy toward the driver through a space (13) between the display (30) and a rim (11) of the steering wheel (10).
CONTROLLED DETACHMENT FEATURES OF STEERING COLUMN MOUNTED CAMERA
A camera assembly adapted for mounting to an interior of a motor vehicle on an upper surface of the steering column assembly. The camera assembly has mounting features interacting with a mounting structure that cause the camera assembly to separate from the mounting structure upon the occurrence of a collision with an object or through inertial forces acting on the camera assembly. The separation in such conditions is provided in a controlled manner through the use of cam or ramp surfaces provided in the camera assembly or mounting structure. A cable or tether may be attached to the camera assembly and mounted to the vehicle to further control movement of the camera assembly after separation.
Steering wheel desk
A steering wheel desk comprising a single unit desk, the desk having an opening near top center of the desk, the opening shaped to allow for inserting the desk over a top portion of a steering wheel through the opening positioning the desk at an incline relative to the steering wheel, the opening having a center groove, the incline being ergonomically beneficial for a user employing the desk and the incline and the center groove preventing the user from accidentally activating a horn built into the steering wheel.
Mountable Portable Device Retainer for a Steering Wheel
A mountable portable device retainer for a steering wheel is an apparatus that secures a portable device, preferably a smart phone, against a steering wheel. The apparatus more specifically positions the portable device along a line of sight for a user while driving a vehicle. The apparatus includes a malleable bracing strip, a securing hook, and at least one portable device holder. The malleable bracing strip positions the at least one portable device holder across the steering wheel. The securing hook attaches the malleable bracing strip, and consequently the at least one portable device holder, with the corresponding portable device, with the steering wheel. The at least one portable device holder mounts the portable device with the steering wheel. The at least one portable device may press the portable device against the wheel of the steering wheel or mount the portable device beside the steering wheel.
