VEHICLES INCLUDING PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLIES WITH SEAT BELT LATCH-RECEIVING STRUCTURES
A seat belt assembly, a garnish to cover a vehicular pillar and a method of making a vehicular pillar garnish. The garnish used in the assembly cooperates with a belt with a connected latch such that when the latch is disengaged from a corresponding seat belt buckle, a latch-receiving structure with a recessed portion formed in the garnish prevents contact with latch such that vibratory movement imparted to the disengaged latch as a result of vehicular movement does not result in the latch knocking or banging against the garnish. The recessed portion includes more than one region that may be used to provide extra functionality to the garnish, such as one or more of temporary storage for a portable electronic device and seat belt rerouting.
Apparatuses and methods for making an object appear transparent
A cloaking device includes object-side and image-side curved cloaking region boundaries with outward facing mirror surfaces and inward facing opaque surfaces. A cloaking region is bounded by the inward facing opaque surfaces of the object-side and image-side curved CR boundaries. An object-side curved reflection boundary with an inward facing mirror surface is positioned proximate to the object-side curved cloaking region boundary and an image-side curved reflection boundary with an inward facing mirror surface is positioned proximate to the image-side curved cloaking region boundary. Light from an object located on the object-side of the cloaking device and obscured by the cloaking region is redirected around the cloaking region by the outward facing mirror surfaces of the object-side and image-side curved cloaking region boundaries and the inward facing mirror surfaces of the object-side and image-side curved reflection boundaries.
One-piece headliner and pillar trim assembly of a vehicle
A headliner and pillar trim assembly of a vehicle comprises a headliner portion including the headliner cover layer and a headliner backing layer; and a plurality of pillar portions each including a pillar trim and a pillar cover layers. The headliner cover layer and a plurality of the pillar cover layers are formed as a one-piece cover layer, and the headliner backing layer and a plurality of the pillar trims are attached to the headliner cover layer and the plurality of pillar cover layers, respectively.
Tether clip and structure for coupling the tether clip to a pillar garnish
A tether has a pair of guide plates. The pair of guide plates has two sides. A distance between points located on the two sides increases, as the points on the two sides approach a tip of the tether. The tether may have elastic branches. The pair of guide plates may have protrusions protruding toward an anchor. The tether may be made long by curving a tether intermediate portion. The tether may have a second guide plate and a third guide plate. When a pillar garnish is moved in a direction away from a pillar, the two sides of the guide plates are brought into contact with a rim portion of a tether housing portion defining the tether inserting aperture, thereby preventing the tether from rotating about a center axis line of the clip and the anchor to pass through the tether inserting aperture. When a bottom wall of the tether housing portion comes to a tether portion located between the guide plates and the anchor, the elastic branches and the protrusions prevent rotation of the tether. The second and third guide plates also prevent rotation of the tether.
Locking pin and grommet fastener assembly
A fastener assembly, which may be configured to be removably secured within an opening of a component, may include a pin including a plurality of locking members, and a grommet including a plurality of reciprocal retaining features configured to snapably retain the plurality of the locking members in a locked state in which the fastener assembly is configured to be inserted into the opening of the component. The plurality of locking members are removed from the reciprocal retaining features in a securing state in which the fastener assembly is secured within the opening formed through the component.
Guide rib structure for sliding mechanism
A sliding mechanism a first part and a second part adapted for sliding translation within the first part. A guide rib structure is included on the first part to constrain a lateral motion of the second part, including one or more ribs each defining at least one inclined plane. The guide rib structure may be a continuous rib member defining a sinusoidal or trapezoidal wave pattern, or may include a plurality of ribs each defining an inclined plane.
Bracket for sliding mechanism
A sliding mechanism includes a first part and a second part adapted for sliding translation within the first part. A bracket attached to the first part includes a bracket guide rib structure for constraining a lateral motion of the second part, including a rib defining an unbroken interface surface for the second part. The bracket guide rib structure may include a continuous rib member defining a continuous a continuous planar slider interface surface, a sinusoidal wave pattern, or a trapezoidal wave pattern. The sinusoidal wave pattern and the trapezoidal wave pattern may include a plurality of waves having a same or a different wave frequency.
Method for Manufacturing a Vehicle Outer Surface Component and Vehicle Outer Surface Component
The invention relates to a method for producing a vehicle outer surface component (1) comprising the following steps: preparing a base component (2) made of a thermoplastic material in an injection mold by injecting a thermoplastic material into the injection mold or by placing a prefabricated base component made of a thermoplastic material therein, and injecting a covering layer (4) of a scratch self-healing plastic material into the closed injection mold to coat the base component (2); the invention further relates to a vehicle outer surface component, in particular a vehicle outer surface component produced according to this method.
Apparatus with integral clip for tags, tickets and the like
An apparatus, a pillar trim panel and an A-pillar trim panel include an integral body having a lug and a margin outlining the lug. The margin and the lug extend in two different planes so as to define a slot. A spring clip is carried on the body behind the lug. A ticket, tag or the like may be inserted through the slot into the spring clip which defines a resilient object holder.
TRIM PART
The invention relates to a trim part for a motor vehicle, having a support part (18) made from a thermoplastic material and having a cover part (12) which has a visible surface (14) and is connected at least sectionally to a fastening element (25) opposite the visible surface (14), wherein the cover part (12) is formed from a glass.
