REINFORCEMENT BLOCK
A vehicle bumper assembly may include a fascia, a bumper beam arranged inside of the fascia including an upper portion and a lower portion, and a reinforcement block arranged only on the upper portion of the bumper beam and configured to absorb energy and to eliminate contact of the upper portion with the fascia during a collision.
RETRACTABLE AUTOMOBILE SIDE GUARD APPARATUS
A retractable automobile side guard apparatus includes a mountable base for attaching the apparatus to an automobile frame, the mountable base slidably coupled to a base extension, a hinge coupled to the base extension and to a vertical base, the vertical base slidably coupled to a vertical extension, a horizontal base coupled to the vertical extension, and a pair of horizontal extensions slidably coupled to the horizontal base. The vertical and horizontal elements when deployed provide a barrier to protect the sides of a parked car against minor impacts. The apparatus can be stored in a retracted state under the car when not in use. The apparatus can be arranged to be deployed and retracted either manually or automatically.
Device for protecting the bumper of a vehicle and method of use
A device for protecting the bumper of a vehicle having an undercarriage includes a bumper protector which is connectable to the undercarriage of the vehicle. The bumper protector includes a cushion which is positionable to (1) a retracted position beneath the undercarriage of the vehicle, and (2) an extended position outwardly projecting from the vehicle. In the extended position the cushion is rotatable to an upright position outside the bumper of the vehicle. The cushion protects the bumper during a collision with another vehicle or object.
Spring assist lock and release lower leg front-end stiffener
A vehicle front-end stiffener includes a hinge bracket pivotally coupled to a support bracket. The hinge bracket supports a stiffener beam. A spring engages the support bracket and the hinge bracket biasing the stiffener beam in a deployed position. A moving element in a locking mechanism can retractably interlock the hinge bracket when a vehicle exceeds a threshold speed to maintain the stiffener beam in the deployed position.
BUMPER ASSEMBLIES AND VEHICLES COMPRISING SAME
A bumper assembly having a transverse bumper body and at least one wing extension that is configured for pivotal movement relative to a side end of the transverse bumper body. Each wing extension has inner and outer surfaces and is moveable from a rest position to an impact position in response to an impact force acting within a horizontal plane. In the rest position, the outer surface of each wing extension is parallel or substantially parallel to the transverse axis, and in the impact position, the outer surface of the wing extension is positioned at an acute angle relative to the transverse axis. Each wing extension is configured to return to its rest position in response to removal of the impact force.
Motor vehicle body which is designed for a collision with small overlap
A motor vehicle body has a longitudinal beam and a bumper cross member, which is fixed to one end of the longitudinal beam. An end section of the bumper cross member protrudes over the longitudinal beam in the transverse direction. The end section of the bumper cross member is designed as a closed or open hollow profile element. A collision-resistant profile reinforcement is provided at least in some regions in the hollow profile element in the end section of the bumper cross member.

Bumper moment inducer
A bumper for a vehicle is provided where the bumper adapted to induce torque of the bumper during a collision, the bumper having a crush box. The bumper includes a bumper beam having an outer surface, a moment inducer extending away from the outer surface of the bumper beam, the moment inducer positioned adjacent to the distal end of the bumper beam. The moment inducer is rigid and adapted to transfer force (energy) rather than absorbing it.
Impact-Absorbing Cross Member
In order to provide an impact-absorbing cross member which is mountable under a bumper unit of a vehicle body on a rear region thereof, wherein the cross member extends in a transverse direction running parallel to the bumper unit and has support elements arranged at the ends for support on side regions of the vehicle body, and wherein the support elements are connected to one another by a central unit of the cross member, which is capable of absorbing a side impact without the central unit being damaged and without the vehicle body also being damaged, it is proposed that side impact elements are provided on both sides of the central unit and are arranged so as to be movable relative thereto and are supported on the support elements of the cross member by means of impact energy absorption elements.
