A mount for securing an element such as a radar transceiver on a vehicle includes a bracket securable to a vehicle bumper or other component. A cover plate is securable to the vehicle component opposite the bracket, and fasteners are extended through the cover plate and the bracket to clamp the bracket and the cover plate against opposite sides of the vehicle component, with the radar transceiver or other element located between the cover plate and a base of the bracket. An alignment arrangement may be included to permit changes to the positioning of the radar transceiver or other element between the cover plate and the base of the bracket for proper transceiver alignment. A process of securing a radar transceiver or other element on a vehicle is also described.

The glass cover is laminated and includes at least one glass sheet laminated with at least one thermoplastic interlayer. The thermoplastic interlayer has a mean transmittance at the LiDAR operating wavelength of at least 80%, to an IR-radiation in the wavelength range from 750 to 1650 nm, and has a light transmission in the visible range of less than 10% of the incident light.

Vehicle reinforcement assembly

A vehicle reinforcement assembly includes a detector and a reinforcement member. The detector is configured to be housed in an interior compartment of a vehicle. The reinforcement member is configured to be housed in the interior compartment at a location adjacent to the detector. The reinforcement member has a vehicle forward facing end that extends closer to a vehicle front end than the detector extends to the vehicle front end.

A support device of a front end module of a vehicle is provided for fastening the front end module to a vehicle structure. The support device has a frame component. The frame component is provided for attaching a bumper cover and/or a decorative grille and for attaching at least one sensor. The support device has at least one movement device by which the frame component can move relative to the vehicle structure. A vehicle includes the support device and a vehicle structure, wherein the support device is mounted on the vehicle structure via the at least one movement device so that, in the event of an impact at low speed, the support device moves in the direction of the vehicle structure and, after the impact, moves away from the vehicle structure again into its initial position.

An autonomous robotic vehicle includes a conveyance system, a securable compartment configured to autonomously lock and unlock, a customer identification reader, at least one processor, and a memory storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the autonomous robotic vehicle to, autonomously: travel to a destination location of a customer; capture, by the customer identification reader at the destination location, a customer identification object; determine that the captured customer identification object matches an identity of the customer; unlock the securable compartment based on the determination; capture, by the product identification reader, a product identifier; and accept a product to be returned by locking the securable compartment. The securable compartment contains a product identification reader.

A collision detection apparatus includes a bumper beam, an absorber, a collision detection sensor, and a bumper cover. The bumper beam extends in a vehicle width direction. The absorber is disposed adjacent to a vehicle front side of the bumper beam. The collision detection sensor includes a pressure tube extending in the vehicle width direction and held by the absorber and is configured to output a signal corresponding to a pressure change in the pressure tube. The bumper cover is disposed on a vehicle front side of the absorber. The bumper cover includes: a low rigidity part disposed at a position lower than the pressure tube; and a high rigidity part having a bending rigidity higher than a bending rigidity of the low rigidity part, disposed at a position above the low rigidity part, and having an upper end at a position higher than the pressure tube.

Collision detection device

A collision detection device includes an impact absorber and a collision detector. The impact absorber extends along a vehicle width direction between a bumper face and a bumper beam of a vehicle, and is configured to absorb impact by being deformed upon collision of the vehicle. The collision detector extends along the vehicle width direction, includes a lower collision detector and an upper collision detector, and is configured to detect that the collision has occurred by being deformed upon the collision of the vehicle. The upper collision detector has greater flexibility than the lower collision detector.

Ultrasonic sensor

An ultrasonic sensor is provided with a sensor body, a cushion member, a retainer part and a waterproof seal. The sensor body has an ultrasonic microphone and a microphone support part. The cushion member covers a protrusion part of the ultrasonic microphone. The retainer part sandwiches a sandwiched part on a proximal end side between the retainer part and an outer peripheral surface of the ultrasonic microphone, while exposing an exposed part on a tip end side in the axial direction of the cushion member. The waterproof seal blocks a gap between a vehicle body component and the exposed part of the cushion member in an on-board state.

In some embodiments, the mounting comprises a first sub-assembly that can be fastened to the vehicle structure; a second sub-assembly, to which the sensor can be fastened; and at least one restoring element; wherein the first and second sub-assemblies can move relative to one another and the restoring element is designed to exert restoring forces on the second sub-assembly in accordance with the relative movement, in order to force the second sub-assembly into an initial position.
