Seat with airbag

A seat includes a seatback including a top portion, a seat bottom coupled to the seatback, an airbag, a tether fixed to the seatback below the top portion and attached to the airbag, and an airbag extension. The airbag is inflatable from an undeployed position in the top portion to a deployed position attached to the top portion and extending in front of a front panel of the seatback. The airbag extension is inflatable from the airbag in the deployed position in front of the seat bottom.

Side airbag packaged in side of seat

An apparatus, system, and method for helping to protect occupants of a vehicle seat in the event of a collision. The vehicle seat includes a base with a bottom cushion, a backrest with a back cushion, and a side rest having a side cushion that extends upward from the bottom cushion and forward from the back cushion. The apparatus comprises a deployable restraint stored in a pre-deployment condition in the side rest. The deployable restraint comprising an airbag and an inflator for inflating and deploying the airbag. When inflated to a deployed condition the restrain cushions the occupant against impacts with the side rest.

OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE

An occupant protection device is for protecting an occupant seated on a seat, and includes an airbag, a holding body in which the folded airbag is housed and held, and an inflator that supplies an inflating gas to the airbag. The airbag is configured to inflate in such a way as to cover a front of the occupant, and includes an occupant side wall portion which can restrain an upper body of the occupant by being disposed on the occupant side when inflation is completed. The occupant side wall portion has a chest portion restraining region that can restrain a chest portion of the occupant by being disposed in an intermediate region in up-down direction sides when inflation is completed. The chest portion restraining region is configured to be narrow in left-right direction sides in comparison with an upper side region and a lower side region disposed one each on upper and lower sides of the chest portion restraining region.

Child seat

A child seat includes a front guard and a backrest frame respectively connected pivotally with the seat portion about a first and a second pivot axis, and a folding mechanism including a latch pivotally connected with the seat portion about a third pivot axis for locking and unlocking the front guard with respect to the seat portion, and a linking part coupled to the latch and pivotally connected with the backrest frame about a fourth pivot axis. A rotation of the backrest frame from a deployed position toward a collapsed position causes a displacement of the linking part that urges the latch to unlock the front guard. The first, third, second and fourth pivot axes are arranged in that order along a direction from a front to a rear of the seat portion when the backrest frame is in the collapsed position and the front guard in a folded position.

SEMI-RIGID DEPLOYABLE SHOULDER AND PELVIS RESTRAINT SYSTEM

The present disclosure is directed to passenger restraint system, deployable upon detection of an imminent side impact vehicle collision. The restraint system contains both an inner inflatable portion and an outer rigid telescopic portion, resulting in a semi-rigid restraint system. The restraint system may be mounted to the outboard and/or inboard sides of a vehicle seat, to protect the passenger from forces from an intruding door structure (or vehicle structure) or from other passengers. Mounting the restraint system to the vehicle seat may limit the force load that is transferred from the vehicle to the occupant, compared to a restraint system mounted to the vehicle interior.

Door mounted airbag assembly with concave surface

An airbag includes folds with each fold having an apex and limbs. The limbs extend from the apex to the limbs of an adjacent fold. A fastener is fixed to the folds and releasably connects the folds to each other.

Occupant protection device

An occupant protection device includes a vertical air bag. The vertical air bag is deployable downward at least from above a shoulder of an occupant seated in a seat of a vehicle. During deployment, the vertical air bag is bent in such a manner that a deployed direction distal end portion is, at a portion in front of an upper body of the occupant seated in the seat, oriented towards a waist of the occupant. During the development, in a state in which the vertical air bag is bent, the deployed direction distal end portion comes in contact with a frontal portion of the occupant seated in the seat.

Rear seat airbag module

A rear vehicle seat airbag module configured to be mounted to a portion of a seat back of a front vehicle seat comprising an inflator and an inflatable cushion comprising a lower portion, an upper portion and an external tether connecting the lower portion and the upper portion. The inflator provides inflation gas to the inflatable cushion and the inflatable cushion is configured to deploy forward of an occupant seated in a rear seat of a vehicle by curving away from the occupant. The external tether is configured to control a trajectory of the deployment of the inflatable cushion by pulling the upper portion toward the lower portion to curve the inflatable cushion such that the upper portion is located above the lower portion.

FRONTAL AIRBAG

A frontal airbag for vehicle occupants comprises a contact panel (26) facing the vehicle occupant in the inflated state and including upper and lower edges (146, 148) as well as two lateral edges (150). In the interior of the airbag, tension means (30) that withhold portions of the contact panel (26) in the inflated state are arranged at the contact panel (26) so that the contact panel has plural indentations. The contact panel (26) is composed of plural interconnected cut parts (42, 44).

Airbag apparatus for vehicle

An airbag apparatus for a vehicle may include first and second inflators each configured to provide an inflation gas; a main cushion connected to the first inflator and deploying toward a passenger when the first inflator operates; a sub cushion connected to the second inflator and deploying along a first side surface of the main cushion to be overlappingly deployed with the main cushion at the first side surface and the front surface of the main cushion when the second inflator operates; and a controller configured to operate the first inflator to deploy the main cushion when a vehicle collision is detected, and configured to operate both of the first inflator and the second inflator to deploy both of the main cushion and the sub cushion when the vehicle collision is detected as an oblique collision at a least a predetermined angle.
