Airbag device
An airbag device of the disclosure includes an airbag module that is installed in a central region of a steering wheel of a vehicle, and that accommodates an airbag that can deploy behind the steering wheel when a driver is seated in the driver's seat. The airbag module has an airbag inflation control unit that controls an inflation direction of the airbag in such a manner as to allow the airbag to inflate above the airbag module, after the airbag has inflated in such a direction as to abut on the driver's chest at the time of deployment of the airbag.
Side airbag for vehicle
A side airbag (SAB) of a vehicle includes: a main chamber disposed in a seat to be deployed from a side surface portion of the seat and, when deployed, configured to cover at least one of a thoracic region, an abdomen region, or a pelvis region of an occupant; a main inflator configured to supply gas to the main chamber to deploy the main chamber; and an auxiliary chamber communicating with the main chamber to allow the gas inside the main chamber to be supplied to an interior of the auxiliary chamber and connected to the main chamber to be deploy above the main chamber.
Vehicle safety systems including inflatable seatbelt restraint
An apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle includes a tubular inflatable seat belt configured to be moved between an inflated condition and a deflated condition. The inflatable seat belt, when in the inflated condition, is configured to permit the occupant to enter and exit a vehicle seat. The inflatable seat belt, when in the deflated condition, is configured to restrain a seated occupant. An airbag is attached to a lap belt portion of the inflatable seat belt. The airbag is inflatable from a stored condition on the inflatable seat belt to a deployed condition in which the airbag has a lower airbag portion extending from the lap belt portion along the seated occupant's legs and an upper airbag portion extending from the lap belt portion upward in front of the seated occupant's torso.
Torso stabilization restraint
A torso stabilization restraint configured to restrain a user in a seat, includes an inflatable first module, an inflatable second module, an inflatable third module, and connectors arranged on one or more of the modules. The connectors are configured to reversibly connect a) the first module and the second module, and b) the second module and the third module when the first, second, and third modules are inflated. When the first, second, and third modules are inflated and connected, the torso stabilization restraint and the seat combine to exert radially inward directed pressure on a torso of the user. The first and second modules are deployable from a seat. The second module is deployable from a seat belt, is arranged between the first and second modules, and is configured to couple to the first and second modules when the modules are inflated.
Side airbag device
A side airbag device includes an inflator; and a bag-shaped airbag inflatable and deployable in response to a gas upon activation of the inflator. The airbag includes a torso protection portion inflatable and deployable in a space beside a torso of the occupant, a support portion provided on a console box side of the torso protection portion and configured to be pushed onto a top surface of the console box in an inflated and deployed state, and a hip protection portion inflatable and deployable between a hip of the occupant and a lateral portion of the console box. The support portion and the hip protection portion are defined by a continuous chamber. The inflator is positioned from above to below the support portion in a side view of the vehicle. The airbag is mounted on a lateral portion of the vehicle seat via the inflator.
Airbag and occupant restraint device
An airbag includes: a first inflatable section that is inflated and deployed forward from the upper portion of a seat back through the left side of a head of an occupant; a second inflatable section that is inflated and deployed forward from the upper portion of the seat back through the right side of the head of the occupant; and a third inflatable section that is continuous with lower portions of front portions of the first inflatable section and the second inflatable section and that is inflated and deployed in front of the chest of the occupant. The front portions of the first and second inflatable sections extend in directions intersecting the vehicle front-rear direction so as to be closer to each other toward the front side. The front portions meet each other at a front end of the airbag.
Airbag apparatus
An airbag apparatus may include an airbag module mounted at a lower end portion of a crash pad; an airbag cushion configured to deploy from the airbag module to deploy in a space between a knee portion and a head portion of a passenger, wherein a tether is connected to the airbag cushion in a deployment direction of the airbag cushion toward at least one of the knee portion, a chest portion, and the head portion of the passenger to form an integrated deployment shape of the airbag cushion; and a release device connected to the tether close to the airbag module, and operated to allow the tether to be released or maintained in a fixed state in a deployment process of the airbag cushion depending on a body shape of the passenger on a seat of the vehicle.
Side airbag apparatus
Objective: To provide a side airbag apparatus that can protect a head portion and chest portion by an appropriate restraining force, while favorably inflating and expanding even a cushion that protects a head portion and chest portion with a small inflator, and that can ensure high OOP performance. Resolution Means: A configuration of a side airbag apparatus 100 according to the present invention includes: a bag-like cushion 110; an inflator 150; a first demarcating part 130a that demarcates the cushion 110 into a first chamber 132 on a vehicle rearward side and a second chamber 134 on a vehicle forward side, a second demarcating part 130b that demarcates a third chamber 136 on an upper side of the first chamber 132 and second chamber 134 of the cushion 110, a first inner vent 142 disposed above the first demarcating part 130, and a second inner vent 144 disposed above the second demarcating part 130b, which flows a gas flowing into the second chamber into the third chamber, and which is provided with a check valve structure that prevents a reverse flow of the gas.
OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A restraint system for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle having a side structure and a cabin with a seat for the occupant includes an airbag having a stored condition outboard of the occupant. The airbag is inflatable to a deployed condition positioned between the occupant and the vehicle side structure. The airbag extends in a forward-rearward direction from a first end positioned in front of the occupant to a second end positioned behind the occupant such that a torso and head of the occupant are laterally aligned with the second end when the seat is placed in a reclined position.
SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A side impact cushion device of a motor vehicle contains at least one impact cushion which can be inflated by a gas generator. The impact cushion in an installation state has an upper portion, a central portion and a lower portion. In this case, the upper portion is arranged substantially horizontally in a deployed state, the central portion is formed in the form of a shell surface of a rotationally symmetrical, developable body, the lower portion can be supported on an upper side of an armrest and a rotational axis of the rotationally symmetrical body is oriented vertically in the deployed state.
