Vehicle side airbag device
A vehicle side airbag device including an airbag accommodated within a seatback of a vehicle seat, and inflates and expands between a seated vehicle occupant and a side door, the airbag includes: a main body portion configured to restrain at least from a shoulder portion to a chest region of the seated vehicle occupant; and an extension portion configured to extend toward a vehicle front side or a vehicle rear side at a portion of a height region of the main body portion, and wherein, as seen in a vehicle side view, at a vehicle occupant shoulder portion height region, the extension portion overlaps a vehicle side portion member that structures a portion of a vehicle cabin side wall and that projects-out further toward a vehicle inner side than a side door glass.
OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM
An occupant protection system for protecting a vehicle occupant sitting in a seat includes a seatbelt that includes a lap belt for arresting the pelvis of the occupant, and an airbag that is stored in the lap belt. The airbag as deployed includes a main inflatable portion for protecting an upper body of the occupant, and a head protecting portion that is located in a vicinity of an upper end of the main inflatable portion for protecting a head of the occupant. The head protecting portion includes a front inflatable portion for covering a front side of the head, and a pair of side inflatable portions that extend rearward from left and right ends of the front inflatable portion for covering sides of the head. Each of the side inflatable portions is configured to be deployed in such a manner that a space is formed between itself and the head.
SIDE AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
A side airbag (SAB) of a vehicle includes: a main chamber disposed in a seat to be deployed from a side surface portion of the seat and, when deployed, configured to cover at least one of a thoracic region, an abdomen region, or a pelvis region of an occupant; a main inflator configured to supply gas to the main chamber to deploy the main chamber; and an auxiliary chamber communicating with the main chamber to allow the gas inside the main chamber to be supplied to an interior of the auxiliary chamber and connected to the main chamber to be deploy above the main chamber.
VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEMS INCLUDING INFLATABLE SEATBELT RESTRAINT
An apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle includes a tubular inflatable seat belt configured to be moved between an inflated condition and a deflated condition. The inflatable seat belt, when in the inflated condition, is configured to permit the occupant to enter and exit a vehicle seat. The inflatable seat belt, when in the deflated condition, is configured to restrain a seated occupant. An airbag is attached to a lap belt portion of the inflatable seat belt. The airbag is inflatable from a stored condition on the inflatable seat belt to a deployed condition in which the airbag has a lower airbag portion extending from the lap belt portion along the seated occupant's legs and an upper airbag portion extending from the lap belt portion upward in front of the seated occupant's torso.
VEHICULAR AIRBAG DEVICE
A vehicular airbag device capable of improving reduction of an occupant obstruction value during a diagonal collision. A vehicular airbag device opens an airbag door on an instrument panel. The outer shape of the airbag when fully deployed and expanded is line-symmetrical with respect to a center line of the opening in a vehicle left-right width direction, and a width dimension in the vehicle width direction at a position of a rear edge of the instrument panel in the vehicle longitudinal direction is greater than a width dimension in the vehicle width direction at a position of a center of the opening in the vehicle longitudinal direction which is more forward in the vehicle longitudinal direction than the rear edge position of the instrument panel.
CHILD SEAT
A child seat includes a seat portion, a backrest frame and a front guard respectively connected pivotally with the seat portion, the backrest frame having multiple deployed positions and a collapsed position, the front guard being rotatable relative to the seat portion between an unfolded and a folded position, and a folding mechanism including a latch connected with the seat portion, and a linking part respectively coupled to the latch and the backrest frame. The latch can engage and lock the front guard in the unfolded position, and the backrest frame is rotatable to cause a displacement of the linking part that urges the latch to disengage and unlock the front guard. The folding mechanism is configured to keep the front guard in the unfolded position while the backrest frame is deployed for use, and to unlock the front guard as the backrest frame rotates toward the collapsed position.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO SUPPORT AN INFLATABLE AIRBAG CUSHION
Inflatable airbag assemblies are disclosed that include an inflatable airbag cushion that deploys rearward from an instrument panel and forward of a vehicle seating position and that include a forward-facing surface configured with a forward protrusion to engage a blind hole of an instrument panel, or a blind end of blind hole of the instrument panel, or blind hole of the instrument panel comprising a shelf.
AIRBAG DEVICE
[Problem] To expand and deploy a hood-shaped airbag in a reliably sandwiched condition between the top of a shoulder of a seated occupant and a seatbelt in a normal set condition during a collision, and reduce injury to the occupant by a device other than an airbag such as a seatbelt or the like.
[Resolution Means] An airbag device 11 contains an airbag 12 and inflator 13 integrally covering the head 2a and a side portion of a seated occupant 2. The airbag 12 in a flat condition prior to folding has a plurality of chambers 12c demarcated in a longitudinal direction. The chamber 12c has a head protecting chamber 12ca stored in an upper portion of a backrest portion 1b of a seat 1 and a pair of side protecting chambers 12cb stored in opposing positions separated in a vehicle width direction on both left and right sides of the backrest portion 1b. At the time of expansion and deployment, the side protecting chamber 12cb expands and deploys between the seatbelt 3 and occupant 2, and thus the airbag 12 is configured such that a space S is formed between the occupant 2 and airbag 12 deployed at a position where the seatbelt 3 passes.
AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device of the disclosure includes an airbag module that is installed in a central region of a steering wheel of a vehicle, and that accommodates an airbag that can deploy behind the steering wheel when a driver is seated in the driver's seat. The airbag module has an airbag inflation control unit that controls an inflation direction of the airbag in such a manner as to allow the airbag to inflate above the airbag module, after the airbag has inflated in such a direction as to abut on the driver's chest at the time of deployment of the airbag.
SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE
A side airbag device includes an airbag that is to be deployed and inflated to correspond to a portion from at least a head portion to a chest portion of the occupant. With a vehicle width direction being taken as a thickness direction, inner surfaces of the airbag in the thickness direction are connected by a tether so that a thickness of the airbag is regulated. The tether partitions an inner portion of the airbag into a first inflation chamber and a second inflation chamber, and has a communication hole through which the first inflation chamber and the second inflation chamber are in communication. When the airbag is inflated, the first inflation chamber corresponds to a rear chest portion of the occupant, and the second inflation chamber corresponds to a front chest portion and the head portion of the occupant. The inflator is disposed in the first inflation chamber.
