A folding completion body of a head-protecting airbag includes a compressed portion which is compressed to have a small sectional shape in an axis orthogonal direction in the folding completion body is provided in at least one end in a front and rear direction, wherein: the compressed portion is formed in such a manner that a thin-plate folded portion is disposed by folding back an end periphery in the front and rear direction to be directed to a center in the front and rear direction in a state where the head-protecting airbag is flatly deployed, and a folded-up portion in which the lower periphery is brought close to the upper periphery is provided; and the thin-plate folded portion is configured such that a tip extending from a crease is disposed to be positioned on an end side of the gas guidance path in the front and rear direction.

VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE

A vehicle control device that includes: an airbag device including an airbag, the airbag being configured as an integral bag body for surrounding a head of an occupant with a front deployment section including a front inflation section that is inflated and deployed in front of a seat corresponding to the head and at least one of shoulders or a chest of the occupant, and a left and right pair of lateral deployment sections including lateral inflation sections that are connected to the front deployment section and are inflated and deployed at sides of the head of the occupant; and a controller that, after the airbag device has been actuated, executes a drive-to-refuge mode in which driving of a power unit of a vehicle and steering of a steering system are controlled to drive the vehicle to take refuge at a road shoulder.

Curtain airbag apparatus

Disclosed is a curtain airbag which has at least one expandable portion formed at a front side thereof; and a tether panel which is coupled to the curtain airbag so as to be disposed on one surface of the curtain airbag, and tightened as the curtain airbag is inflated, so as to allow the at least one expandable portion to protrude toward the other surface that is directed toward the inside of an interior of a vehicle.

Front airbag of a vehicle passenger restraint system

A front airbag of a vehicle occupant restraint system comprises an outer cover including a front wall and a peripheral wall, wherein a fixing portion (22) for fixing the front airbag tightly to the vehicle is provided on the peripheral wall and the front wall constitutes a baffle for the vehicle occupant and includes a circumferential first peripheral edge (20) which is circumferentially connected at a circumferential second peripheral edge (24) of the peripheral wall to the latter. The length of the two peripheral edges (20, 24) is equal. The front wall includes a cut (12) that is flatly spreadable. The front wall cut (12) has at least one notch (28) starting from the first peripheral edge (20) at two connecting points (32), wherein from each of the connecting points (32) an edge portion (34) of the notch (28) extends into the interior of the front wall cut (12) so that the two edge portions (34) are convergent in V-shape and meet in one point. In the finished front airbag, the two edge portions are connected to each other along their total length so that the connecting points (32) are located in the first peripheral edge (20) and are directly adjacent each other and in the inflated front airbag a bulge is formed in the front wall in the area of the edge portions.

AIRCRAFT SEAT DEVICE HAVING AN AIR BAG ELEMENT

An airplane seat device includes at least one airplane seat, and with at least one console arranged, viewed in a flight direction, in front of the airplane seat, and with at least one airbag element which is configured to protect in a crash event a passenger sitting in the airplane seat from crashing onto the console. At least one airbag element features, in a fully deployed state, at least in a head-impact zone, a thickness which is smaller than a thickness in at least one shoulder-impact zone.

VEHICLE HOOD ASSEMBLY WITH DEPLOYABLE PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION

A hood assembly for a vehicle includes an inner hood, an outer hood, and a plurality of deployable devices. The outer hood is fixed relative to the inner hood. The plurality of deployable devices are spaced apart from each other between the inner hood and the outer hood. The deployable devices each define an inflation chamber and are formed of thermoplastic elastomer. Upon detection of impact between the vehicle and a pedestrian, the deployable devices are deployed to separate the outer hood and the inner hood. As such, during impact of the pedestrian with the outer hood, the outer hood may deform and/or the outer hood may space the pedestrian from relatively hard components under the hood assembly.

CENTER SIDE AIRBAG MODULE

An airbag module for protecting an occupant of a vehicle seat includes an inflatable cushion and an inflator for providing inflation gas. The module is mounted on an inboard side of a second vehicle seat located adjacent to the vehicle seat containing the occupant. The cushion is configured to inflate into a position between the seats and includes a forward inflatable chamber that is a larger volume than a rearward inflatable chamber. The forward chamber extends vertically from the bottom of the vehicle seat to a position suitable to receive impact from the head of the occupant in the event of a far-side crash event. The rearward inflatable chamber is configured to deploy into a position inboard of the vehicle seats. The forward and rearward inflatable chambers are separated by a cleft that opens toward the occupant.

HINGE FOR A VEHICLE HOOD

A hinge for a hood of a vehicle includes a first bracket, a member coupled to and rotatable relative to the first bracket, and a second bracket coupled to and rotatable relative to the member. An actuator includes a base connected to the first bracket and a rod moveable relative to the base. The rod moves from a retracted position to an extended position in contact with the second bracket.

PASSENGER AIRBAG HAVING HEAD ORIENTING EXTENSION AND DEPRESSION

An airbag system includes an airbag having a main portion having a first periphery. The main portion is inflatable in an inflation direction to a first thickness. An extension extends from the main portion and has a second periphery spaced from the first periphery. The extension is inflatable in the inflation direction to a second thickness. The first periphery and the second periphery define a gap therebetween. A depression is disposed between the main portion and the extension at the gap and the depression has a third thickness in the inflation direction less than the first thickness and the second thickness. The extension and the depression may receive a head of an occupant during an oblique impact, in which the head of the occupant may avoid the main portion of the airbag.

Air-bag apparatus

An air-bag apparatus includes: a frame member that is tiltable along a seat back of a vehicle seat; and a bag body that is embedded in the frame member, that is inflated and expanded to a front of an occupant seated on the vehicle seat at a time of an impact input, and that prevents a body of the occupant from being separated from the seat back.
