Air bag device
An airbag apparatus which is capable of restraining an occupant in a stable position even during an oblique collision, and which is capable of suppressing an injury value of the occupant. An airbag apparatus 100 restrains an occupant 132 of a vehicle. The airbag apparatus 100 is provided with: a main bag 112 which is bag-shaped and inflates and deploys in front of a front passenger seat 104 of the vehicle; and a center bag 114 which is bag-shaped and inflates and deploys on an inner side of the main bag 112 in a vehicle width direction. The center bag 114 has a rear region 160 which extends further towards a rear of the vehicle than the main bag 112, and a curved surface 164, which projects towards a main bag 112 side in the vehicle width direction, is formed on the rear region 160.
Mounting structure
A temporary fixing unit includes a supporting portion including a distal end portion passed through an aperture, and a holding portion provided with an inclined surface that slides along an edge portion of the aperture when passed through the aperture. The temporary fixing unit also includes a spring portion connecting the distal end portion of the supporting portion and the holding portion and that deforms in a twisted manner as the holding portion is pushed down when the inclined surface of the holding portion slides along the edge portion of the aperture. When the holding portion is passed through the aperture, a portion of a door panel is held between the holding portion and an elastic portion. Furthermore, the elastic portion is elastically deformed so as to press the door panel.
Front passenger seat airbag device
A front passenger seat airbag device includes a module case; a front passenger seat airbag configured such that, in a folded state, a height of a first airbag section positioned at a vehicle outer side is lower than a height of a second airbag section positioned at a vehicle inner side, and widths of the first airbag section and the second airbag section are substantially the same; an inflator disposed at a bottom side of the module case; and a raising member disposed at a bottom portion of the module case, and that raises a height of a first support face supporting the first airbag section to be higher than a height of a second support face supporting the second airbag section, such that a height of an upper face of the first airbag section is substantially aligned with a height of an upper face of the second airbag section.
Airbag tether release
An airbag system includes an airbag. The airbag system includes a base defining a track extending from a first end to a second end. The airbag system includes a carrier releasably fixed to the base and removable from the base at the second end. The airbag system includes a tether extending from the carrier and secured to the airbag. The airbag system includes a spring disposed at the first end. The spring is disposed between the carrier and the base. Upon application of a force to the carrier, e.g., via the tether when the airbag is inflated, the carrier is released from the base and compresses the spring. Upon removal of the force, the spring urges the carrier toward the second end where the carrier is ejected.
Vehicle alert system utilizing communication system
A collision avoidance system for a vehicle includes a communication device disposed at a carrier exterior and remote from the vehicle. The communication device is operable to communicate information regarding location and motion of the communication device carried by the carrier relative to the vehicle. A receiver receives a communication from the communication device, and a processor processes information communicated by the communication device. The processor, responsive to processing communicated information, determines the location and motion of the communication device relative to the vehicle. A side sensing device is disposed at a side of the vehicle and operable to capture data, which is processed to determine approach of the carrier to the vehicle from rearward of the vehicle. Data captured by the side sensing device and information communicated by the communication device are processed by the processor to determine existence of a potential collision between the carrier and the vehicle.
AIRBAG ASSEMBLY CONFIGURED TO DEPLOY FROM A SIDE WALL OF A VEHICLE TO RESIST UPWARD MOTION OF THE LEG OF AN OCCUPANT, AND A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
An airbag assembly according to the present disclosure includes an elongated cushion and a restraint. The elongated cushion is configured to deploy from an interior side wall of a vehicle into a passenger compartment of the vehicle to resist upward motion of a leg of an occupant of the vehicle. The restraint is configured to prevent the elongated cushion from rotating upward and toward the side wall when the leg of the occupant contacts an underside surface of the elongated cushion.
AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
An airbag assembly includes a first airbag and a second airbag each inflatable to an inflated position, and a panel. In the inflated position, each of the first and second airbags have a bend, and first and second legs extending from the bend. The panel extends from the first airbag to the second airbag in the inflated position.
Automotive transportation systems and methods for monitoring activity and providing controlled response
In one embodiment, a vehicular monitoring and controlled response system includes a substance having a plurality of particles dispersed therein, the particles being tunable in response to an external stimulus; a sensor for measuring a disruption to a vehicle; and a computing device in communication with the sensor and the vehicle. The computing device has non-transitory computer readable medium with computer executable instructions stored thereon executed by a digital processor to analyze data received by the sensor; determine a magnitude of the external stimulus based on the data received by the sensor; and activate the external stimulus.
SEAT WITH AIRBAG
A seat includes a seatback including a top portion, a seat bottom coupled to the seatback, an airbag, a tether fixed to the seatback below the top portion and attached to the airbag, and an airbag extension. The airbag is inflatable from an undeployed position in the top portion to a deployed position attached to the top portion and extending in front of a front panel of the seatback. The airbag extension is inflatable from the airbag in the deployed position in front of the seat bottom.
