Foot-supporting safety device in a vehicle
The disclosure relates to a foot-supporting safety device of a motor vehicle. The foot-supporting safety device includes a foot mat, which is provided so as to be arranged on a foot-space floor of the vehicle. The foot mat has a supporting surface and at least one hollow space that receives at least one fluid. The at least one hollow space is arranged in a direction perpendicular with respect to the supporting surface and with a major portion below the supporting surface. In accordance with the disclosure, the at least one hollow space is permanently filled with a predetermined quantity of the at least one fluid.
Safe head-mounted display for vehicles
Head-mounted displays (HMDs) are being used more and more for entertainment and work while traveling in vehicles. However, the use of an HMD can be risky in the event of a collision if it is not removed from the head in time. This disclosure describes HMDs that are dismantled automatically from the heads of passengers in vehicles. In one embodiment, an HMD includes a display module and a mount that includes a flexible piece and a stiff piece connected by a lock. The mount attaches the display module to a passenger's head while the pieces are connected. Upon receiving an indication of an imminent collision involving the vehicle, the lock disconnects the pieces such that the flexible piece stays on the head shortly after the disconnection, and the stiff piece is removed from the head shortly after the disconnection.

Passenger restraint device and fairground ride passenger unit
A passenger restraint device of a fairground ride passenger unit, which has a passenger space, includes a position-adjustable restraint element and a lockable hydraulic adjuster which acts on the restraint element and has a cylinder-piston unit and a hydraulic accumulator. The hydraulic accumulator and the cylinder-piston unit of the hydraulic adjuster form a structural unit in that the cylinder of the cylinder-piston unit and a cylinder of the hydraulic accumulator arranged next to and parallel to the cylinder are part of an integrated cylinder assembly. The integrated cylinder assembly has a connection block with a switching plate on an axial end face, wherein the hydraulic accumulator is configured as a single unit and is detachably mounted on the switching plate.
Systems for ride vehicle restraint
A system includes a first cummerbund that includes a slot. Furthermore, the system includes a lap bar that couples to first and second pivot points and rotates in a first circumferential direction about the first and second pivot points. The lap bar extends through the slot of the first cummerbund such that the first cummerbund translates in a first lateral direction relative to the lap bar to adjust a position of the lap bar within the slot.
VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A vehicle body structure has: a front plate portion that faces in a vehicle front-rear direction; an inclined portion that obliquely descends rearward from a lower end of the front plate portion and is coupled to a floor panel making up a floor surface of a cabin; an arch-shaped portion located at outer end portions in a vehicle width direction of the front plate portion and the inclined portion and makes up a wheel arch-shaped rear portion of a tire house; a front side frame located inward of the arch-shaped portion in the vehicle width direction and extends from the front plate portion to the inclined portion in the vehicle front-rear direction; and a reinforcement panel placed over the arch-shaped portion. The reinforcement panel is disposed outward in the vehicle width direction of an innermost portion in the vehicle width direction in the arch-shaped portion.

FLOOR MOUNTED LOWER LIMB RESTRAINT AIRBAG
A floor mounted lower limb restraint airbag device includes: an airbag installed at a lower side of a floor of a vehicle cabin, configured to rupture the floor by being supplied with gas from an inflator during a vehicle head-on collision, and configured to be expanded and deployed toward at least knee regions of a passenger seated in a vehicle seat; and a tension member coupling an upper portion of the airbag with a support section provided at a lower side of the floor, the tension member rupturing the floor and deploying accompanying expansion and deployment of the airbag, and the tension member pulling the upper portion of the airbag at a vehicle rear side and relatively toward a vehicle lower side in a case in which at least the knee regions of the passenger, who begins to move toward a vehicle front side under inertia, are restrained by the airbag.
Vehicular front structure including vehicle front face sensor unit and floor crossing member
A driver's cab is located at the front end portion of a vehicle. A sensor unit is provided on the front face of a body of the vehicle and is located at the same height as the driver's-cab floor of the driver's cab. A floor crossing member extends along the lateral direction of the vehicle on the driver's-cab floor between the sensor unit and an accelerator pedal. The floor crossing member has both sides coupled one-to-one with a left front side member and a right front side member extending along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, respectively, at the left front portion and right front portion of the vehicle. After entering the driver's cab due to a frontal collision, the sensor unit abuts on the floor crossing member, leading to suppression of the distance of entry of the sensor unit into the driver's cab.
