DRIVER KNEE BLOCKER ENERGY ABSORPTION SYSTEM
A tunable knee blocker energy absorption system for a vehicle having an instrument panel, a structural cross-car member, and an occupant protection device includes a left energy absorption (EA) bracket configured to couple to the structural cross-car member and including a left lower EA bracket, a left upper EA bracket, and a left EA bridge. A right EA bracket is configured to couple to the structural cross-car member and includes a right lower EA bracket and a right upper EA bracket. The left EA bracket and the right EA bracket are distinct from each other to manage a non-uniform load path of occupant femurs into the instrument panel and alter the kinematic response of the occupant back to a uniform presentation to the occupant protection device.
BRACKETS FOR MOUNTING A CENTER STACK MODULE IN AN INSTRUMENT PANEL
A bracket for mounting center stack modules in an instrument panel assembly of a vehicle is provided. The bracket comprises a first bracket half and a second bracket half, each extending substantially at a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and spaced apart laterally. Each of the first and second bracket halves comprises a first end, a second end and a body between the first end and second end. The first end is connected to a cross car beam, and the second end is connected to the center stack module. The body includes a deformable element collapsible by an impact force. Further, the first bracket half includes a first main surface and the second bracket half includes a second main surface which are substantially perpendicular to a floor of the vehicle.
Console device for vehicle
A console device for a vehicle is provided. A console box is provided to be movable to a desired position in the forward-and-backward direction of the vehicle. The console box is inserted into the space under a crash pad when the console box moves in the forward direction of the vehicle. Therefore, utilization of the interior space of the vehicle is maximized, and the console device is therefore suitable for installation in an autonomous vehicle.
KNEE BOLSTER
A knee bolster system for absorbing an impact energy of an occupant's knee is provided with a multi-level force load limiter. The multi-level force load limiter includes three force load limiters. A first force load limiter includes a contact plate for receiving an impact force by the occupant's knee during a vehicle collision. A second force load limiter includes a torsional deflection rod for deforming torsionally by allowing relative rotation, and a third force load limiter includes a locking gear and a female locking base for locking further rotation of a rotational arm after rotation of the torsional deflection rod in the second force load limiter by a predetermined angle based on rotation of the rotational arm. Accordingly, the multi-level force load limiter can create a higher torsion force on the rotational arm of the knee bolster system.

PLASTIC COMPONENT FOR INTERIOR OF VEHICLE INCORPORATING SUPPORT ELEMENTS TO PREVENT VISIBLE DAMAGE ARISING FROM IMPACT FORCE
A plastic component for an interior of a vehicle comprises: a first piece including a first support element; and a second piece facing the first piece and including a second support element adjacent to the first support element within an interstice between the first piece and the second piece; wherein, the first support element extends from an interstice-facing surface of the first piece at a junction, and the junction has a junction thickness that is less thick than a thickness of the first support element adjacent to the junction. During the transition from a non-impact position to an impact position, the junction can separate to induce breakage of the first piece in the interstice between the first piece and the second piece and not viewable from the interior of the vehicle.
