MOTOR VEHICLE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
An assembly is disclosed, in which a rigid ramp is rigidly connected to a tubular upper part of a steering column for interaction with a displaceable part of an instrument panel. Interaction between the tubular upper part and the displaceable part moves the displaceable part in a reliable manner out of the way during an impact scenario, during which a steering wheel is displaced towards the instrument panel. Displacement of the displaceable part by the rigid ramp permits the steering wheel to be fully displaced without the instrument panel hindering such motion.

INFLATABLE TUNNEL REINFORCEMENT
An inflatable tunnel reinforcement for reinforcing a vehicle tunnel structure includes a first wall, a second wall, and at least one fold connecting the first and second walls. The inflatable tunnel reinforcement further includes an inflator adapted to increase a gas pressure between the first and second walls. In an inflated configuration, the inflatable tunnel reinforcement forms a continuous load path between interior walls of the tunnel structure generally orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the tunnel structure.
STEERING COLUMN INCLUDING A PROTECTIVE COVER
A steering column for a motor vehicle may include a steering spindle and a cover. The steering spindle may include an input shaft configured to rotate with a steering wheel, an output shaft rotatably mounted in a steering gear housing, and a swivel joint arranged between the shaft and the output shaft. A portion of the steering spindle within a footwell of the vehicle may be covered by the cover. The cover may include a fastening device and an opening on a side facing away from the footwell. The opening of the cover may extend across a portion of the output shaft, the swivel joint, and a portion of the input shaft. The cover may be fastened to a portion of the steering gear housing by the fastening device so the cover does not rotate with the steering spindle.

Interior trim gap covering apparatuses for motor vehicles and methods for making the same
Interior trim gap covering apparatuses for motor vehicles and methods for making interior trim gap covering apparatuses are provided. In one example, an interior trim gap covering apparatus comprises a first gap hider member. The first gap hider member comprises a substrate having a forward edge and a rearward edge and a plurality of openings formed therethrough extending between the forward and rearward edges to facilitate the substrate deforming in response to an applied force. A flexible covering overlies the substrate.
