Adjustable and removable hard top roof system
A vehicle has a forward end and a rearward end with a passenger compartment there between. The passenger compartment has a floor below, a steering wheel forwardly, and two laterally spaced roll bars rearwardly. A support platform is fixedly positioned above the passenger compartment. A forward support rail is between the floor and the support platform. A rearward support plate has lateral edges coupled to the roll bars. A left roof section has a left front and a left back. A right roof section has a right front and a right back. The left and right roof sections rest upon the support platform when in a lowered operative orientation. A hinge assembly couples the left back and the right back to the support platform for independent movement of the left and right roof sections between the lowered operative orientation forwardly and the raised inoperative orientation rearwardly.
VEHICLE
A vehicle with a roll cage covering right and left seats; and a cargo bed located rearward of the right and left seats. The roll cage includes right and left rear extending portions extending downward and located further rearward than the right and left seats in a side view of the vehicle, and a plurality of cross portions extending in a right left direction. The cargo bed has an area located further forward than a plane defined by the right and left rear extending portions. The plurality of cross portions include a first cross portion including portions connected to the right and left rear extending portions and including a middle portion positioned higher than the portions connected to the right and left rear extending portions. This structure enables a vehicle to have a sufficient capacity in the cargo bed and allow smooth loading and unloading of cargo.
Rollover protective device
A rollover protective device (1) for a passenger vehicle has a supporting device (3) extending in the vertical elevation (2) when installed correctly. A crossbar (5) is fastened to the supporting device (3) and extends in a lateral direction (4) when installed correctly. The crossbar (5) is of beam-shaped design and is formed by a sheet metal construction (6) with a deformed front side and/or upper side (7, 8) and an inner supporting structure (9).
Multi-panel removable roof system
A vehicle removable roof system including a fixed vehicle structure, one or more removable panels configured to engage with the fixed vehicle structure, and a water management system positioned between the one or more removable panels and the fixed vehicle structure. The removable panels may be formed of a composite sandwich panel assembly, which may include an open area core defining pores, a high gloss surface sheet adhered to a first face of the open area core by a first adhesive layer, and a structural skin adhered to a second side of the open area core by a second adhesive layer. The removable panels are configured for installation to and removal from the fixed vehicle structure by a single user and without the use of tools.
ACTIVE BOLSTER
An active bolster for a vehicle is provided, wherein the bolster comprises an expansible hollow interior that is inflatable and is self-supporting in both an inflated and in an uninflated position. The bolster has an inflator module for inflating the expansible hollow interior. The bolster has an inner wall for projecting inwardly into the vehicle and away from the side of the vehicle on inflation of the expansible hollow interior. The bolster may have a relatively non-expansible component located between a first expansible chamber and a second expansible chamber. The bolster may comprise an outer wall having an attachment portion for attaching the outer wall to a portion of the side of the vehicle.
OFF-ROAD VEHICLE, REINFORCING FRAME, AND METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING OFF-ROAD VEHICLE
An off-road vehicle includes: a vehicle body frame to which a roll-over protection structure (ROPS) is detachably attachable; and a reinforcing frame that is detachably attachable to the vehicle body frame instead of the ROPS. The vehicle body frame includes a first vehicle body frame located forward of a driver's seat, and a second vehicle body frame located rearward of the driver's seat. The reinforcing frame couples the first vehicle body frame and the second vehicle body frame to each other.
Flexible impact protection
Disclosed is a flexible impact protection member for mounting to a first member to protect either or both the first member and a second member that impacts thereon. The protection member has a several mobile portions, each being mounted end on end to each other. There is at least one tensile connection between adjacent mobile portions to lock each of the mobile portions to each other to form the flexible impact protection member. At least one portion of the flexible impact protection member can be se cured to the first member. The flexible impact protection member at least in part extends away from the first member when the first member is in a normal operation mode or orientation. The flexible impact protection member can deflect from its normal shape due to an impact event with the second member by the plurality of mobile portions moving relative to each other, such movement increasing tension in the tensile connection and therefore increasing stiffness of the flexible impact protection member.
