Seatbelt retractor and seatbelt assembly including same
A seatbelt retractor is provided that can be formed in a smaller size yet properly operated, and capable of smoothly providing seatbelt tension, and a seatbelt assembly including such a seatbelt retractor. The seatbelt retractor includes a frame, a seatbelt, a spool that takes up the seatbelt, the spool being rotatably supported by the frame, a lock mechanism that allows the spool to rotate in a non-activated state and restricts, upon being activated, the spool from rotating in the seatbelt withdrawal direction, and an energy absorption mechanism that limits the load applied to the seatbelt to thereby absorb and alleviate energy of the occupant, and the energy absorption mechanism includes a first torsion bar concentrically enclosed in the spool with one end portion retained by the spool and the other end portion disposed to be locked by the lock mechanism, and disposed to be rotated by torsional force, a second torsion bar eccentrically enclosed in the spool with one end portion 24a disposed to be locked by the lock mechanism, and disposed to be rotated by torsional force, and a moving member that rotates interlocked with the spool, and moves between the first position for retaining the other end portion of the second torsion bar and the second position spaced from the other end portion of the second torsion bar.

PRELOCK PREVENTION DEVICE FOR USE WITH A WEB RETRACTOR AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A prelock prevention device for use with a web retractor in a vehicle restraint system is described herein. The web retractor can include a sidewall adjacent a rotatable spool with a web wound thereon. A prelock prevention device configured in accordance with aspects of the present technology can include a base having a first flange portion spaced apart from a second flange portion to define a space therebetween. At least one of the first flange portion or the second flange portion is resiliently biased toward the other of the first flange portion or the second flange portion to grip an edge portion of the retractor sidewall sandwiched therebetween. The prelock prevention can further include an arm resiliently supported by the base and having a contact surface configured to compress the web against the spool during rotation thereof to reduce web retraction velocity.
WEBBING WINDING DEVICE
A webbing winding device includes: a spool around which webbing to be worn by an occupant is wound and which is rotated in a pull-out direction by the webbing being pulled out; a trigger member provided at the spool; a torsion shaft engaged with the spool and twisted to allow rotation of the spool in the pull-out direction; and a clutch with which the torsion shaft is engaged and the trigger member is engaged, and in which part of a member engaged with the torsion shaft so as to be relatively non-rotatable is locked to the trigger member to restrict rotation of the torsion shaft with respect to the spool, the clutch being operated by being released by actuation of the trigger member and engaged with a lock member to restrict rotation with respect to the lock member.

Load-limiting seatbelt retractor
A restraint system includes a retractor housing, a webbing spool rotatably coupled to the retractor housing and defining an axis of rotation, a wire spool lockable to the webbing spool, a die fixed relative to the retractor housing, and a wire fixed to the wire spool and engaged with the die.

Load limiting seatbelt retractor
A seatbelt retractor includes a frame and a spool having a first end and a second end each rotatably supported by the frame. The spool is elongated on an axis from the first end to the second end. The seatbelt retractor includes a plurality of torsion posts fixed to the frame. The seatbelt retractor includes a locking device operatively coupled between the spool and the plurality of torsion posts.

Webbing take-up device
A webbing take-up device includes a spool, a V gear that includes a first spring engagement portion, a W pawl that includes a second spring engagement portion, and a return spring provided between the first spring engagement portion and the second spring engagement portion. A boss portion that is provided to the first spring engagement portion is inserted into a one-side of the return spring. A housing section is provided to the second spring engagement portion, with an other-side of the return spring housed therein. Displacement of an end portion on the second spring engagement portion side of the return spring is limited by the housing section in a state in which the W pawl is positioned at a reset position, and in a state in which the return spring is completely compressed toward the first spring engagement portion side.
