Time based seatbelt routing detection via in-cabin sensors

A system for detecting seatbelt routing includes: a state module configured to, based on a series of images over a period of time from a camera of a vehicle facing a seat, determine and output a routing state of a seatbelt of the seat; and a remediation module configured to, based on the routing state of the seatbelt of the seat, selectively perform at least one remedial action.

EJECTOR ELEMENT FOR A BELT BUCKLE SENSOR WITH A TRIGGER, AND A BELT BUCKLE WITH SUCH AN EJECTOR ELEMENT
20210316698 · 2021-10-14 ·

An ejector element with a trigger for a belt buckle sensor includes a plate-shaped ejector body and a trigger blade of a magnetic and/or metallic material for producing a change in a magnetic field of a Hall sensor or an inductive sensor. The ejector element is distinguished by the fact that the trigger blade is connected in one piece to the ejector body, wherein the one-piece connection between the trigger blade and the ejector body is produced by an injection-molding process.

Seat belt for vehicle

A seat belt for an occupant sitting on a seat in a vehicle includes a tongue part provided at a first side portion of the seat and a buckle part provided at a second side portion of the seat. The tongue part includes at least one first guide part that is operable between extended and contracted configurations, and at least one first webbing with a tongue wound therein. In addition, the tongue of the first webbing is connected with an end portion of the first guide part. The buckle part includes a second guide part that is operable between extended and contracted configurations, and the second webbing with a buckle wound therein. In addition, the buckle of the second webbing is connected with an end portion of the second guide part. The tongue of the tongue part is fastened to the buckle of the buckle part.

CHILD SAFETY IN A VEHICLE ALERT SYSTEM AND METHOD
20210261089 · 2021-08-26 ·

An alert system to assist in child safety in a vehicle includes a seat belt buckle insert adapted to be inserted between the male and female parts of a standard safety belt found in most automobiles or for a child car safety seat. It may also include a portable receiver device designed to be carried by a vehicle operator. The seat belt buckle insert detects whether the seat belt has been buckled and the temperature is within an acceptable range, as well as the approximate distance between the seat belt buckle insert and portable receiver device. The seat belt buckle transmits information gathered to the portable receiver device and triggers alerts notifying the vehicle operator of a child's safety status.

ALERT SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY TO CONDUCT IN-CABIN CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM MONITORING AND FACILITATE COMPLIANCE WITH LOCATION-DEPENDENT CONSTRAINTS

Methods, systems and apparatuses may provide for technology that conducts an automated vision analysis of image data associated with an interior of a vehicle cabin, determines a state of a child restraint system (CRS) based on the automated vision analysis, and generates an alert if the state of the CRS does not satisfy one or more safety constraints. In one example, the technology identifies the safety constraint(s) based on a geographic location of the vehicle cabin.

Method for operating a safety system for a motor vehicle, safety system and motor vehicle

In a method for operating a safety system of a motor vehicle, a corresponding safety system, and a motor vehicle equipped with such safety system, status signals from several sensor devices are captured by the safety system, wherein the status signals indicate respective status change of a functional unit of the motor vehicle. Thereafter, a chronological order of the status changes is determined and evaluated to detect a consistency or an inconsistency with the proper application of a seat belt of the motor vehicle. If an inconsistency is detected and it persists over a predetermined period of time, a control signal is transmitted by the safety system to a safety device of the motor vehicle.

LOCATING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR WIRELESS SEAT BELT MONITORING IN VEHICLES WITH REMOVABLE OR RECONFIGURABLE SEATS

Locating systems and methods for wireless seat belt monitoring in vehicles with removable or reconfigurable seats are provided herein. An example device includes a first transceiver associated with a seat belt buckle, the first transceiver having a processor and memory for storing instructions that include a first unique code identifying the first transceiver and a first orientation value of the seat belt buckle to a vehicle receiver, the first orientation value indicating a location of the seat belt buckle on a seat, the processor executes the instructions to transmit the first unique code and the first orientation value to a vehicle receiver.

An example remote transceiver can be centrally located on a seat that is configured to be rearranged within a vehicle. The remote transceiver can include a processor and memory for storing instructions that include a unique code identifying the remote transceiver. The processor executes the instructions to receive low power signals from transmitters within an interior of the vehicle, determine received signal strength values of the low power signals. The received signal strength values are used by the vehicle receiver to determine a location of the remote transceiver within the vehicle.

PERSONAL SECURING SYSTEM FOR SECURING PEOPLE IN VEHICLES WITH REVERSIBLY MOUNTED VEHICLE SEATS
20210253061 · 2021-08-19 ·

A personal securing system for securing people in vehicles with reversibly mounted vehicle seats includes a seat detector adapted to monitor occupancy of the vehicle seat, at least one belt buckle adapted to be brought into engagement with a buckle tongue, a belt buckle detector on the belt buckle adapted to provide a signal when the belt buckle is in engagement with the buckle tongue, and a controller adapted to process the signals recorded by the seat detector and the belt buckle detector.
