SEATBELT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE EXTENSION LENGTH OF A SEATBELT SYSTEM BELT STRAP WHICH IS WOUND ON A ROTATABLE BELT COIL
A seat belt system (10) has a control unit (14) and a seat belt (16) which includes a webbing (18) and a belt retractor (20). The belt retractor (20) comprises a belt reel (28) for the webbing (18), a rotation angle sensor (30) with a sensor unit and a rotatable measuring element, and a gear unit coupling the belt reel (28) to the measuring element. The belt reel (28) has a fully extended position and a ghost position. Furthermore, the gear unit is designed so that the gear unit reduces the rotation of the belt reel (28), when the belt reel (28) is adjusted from the ghost position to the fully extended position, to a maximum of 1.0 revolutions of the measuring element. In addition, a method for determining the extension length of a webbing (18) of a seat belt system (10) wound on a rotatable belt reel (28) is provided.
Alarm system for unattended vehicle occupants
An alarm system for unattended vehicle including housing assembly and electrical assembly. Vehicle assembly includes seats, seatbelts, motor and dashboards. Housing assembly includes a housing mounted underneath dashboard. Electrical assembly includes seat sensor emitting signal if one of the seatbelts is engaged after motor is turned off. The signal triggers a timer and an alarm. The alarm sounds a speaker mounted to housing. If timer is lapsed a second signal sends an alert message to emergency services to warn that people are inside of vehicle preventing people from being damaged by heat.
System and method for monitoring seat belt routing using both a webbing payout sensor and an in-cabin sensor
A system includes a seat belt routing module and a user interface device (UID) control module. The seat belt routing module is configured to: determine a routing of a seat belt relative to an occupant in a vehicle seat based on input from a webbing payout sensor; and determine the seat belt routing based on an input from an in-cabin sensor. The in-cabin sensor includes at least one of a camera, an infrared sensor, an ultrasonic sensor, a radar sensor, and a lidar sensor. The UID control module is configured to control a user interface device to indicate that the seat belt is being worn improperly when: the seat belt routing determined using at least one of the webbing payout sensor and the in-cabin sensor is improper; and the seat belt routing determined using the webbing payout sensor corresponds to the seat belt routing determined using the in-cabin sensor.
SEAT BELT ATTACHMENT/DETACHMENT DETECTION SWITCH
A seat belt attachment/detachment detection switch comprises: a printed circuit board including a circuit for detecting attachment/detachment of a seat belt; a movable plate configured to slidably move along with insertion of a tongue plate of the seat belt; a rotor including a lever coupled to the movable plate, the rotor being rotatably attached to the printed circuit board to rotate as the tongue plate is pushed into a buckle; and an electric brush attached to the surface of the rotor that faces the printed circuit board, the electric brush having leg parts that change a state of contact/non-contact with a conductive part of the circuit in accordance with a rotating state of the rotor.
METHOD FOR A SEAT BELT SYSTEM, SEAT BELT SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE AND VEHICLE COMPRISING A SEAT BELT SYSTEM
A method for a seat belt system (10) in a vehicle (14), the seat belt system (10) comprising a control unit (36) and at least one extendable seat belt (18) with a locking tongue (22), at least one belt buckle (24) and at least one webbing extension measuring device (30), includes the steps of: a) determining the webbing extension by means of the webbing extension measuring device (30), b) determining whether a buckling operation has occurred, c) activating at least one guide element on the belt buckle (24) and/or the seat belt (18), if a buckling operation has occurred.
Moreover, the invention provides a seat belt system (10) for a vehicle (14) comprising an extendable seat belt (18) as well as a vehicle comprising a seat belt system (10).
Monitor for Usage of Seat Belts
A seat belt usage monitor identifies the number of miles driven in a vehicle while the seat belt was connected in comparison with the total number of mile driven in the vehicle. The seat belt usage monitor can be displayed to the operator by a screen incorporated into the seat belt buckle or on a display monitor incorporated into the dashboard of the vehicle. The seat belt usage monitor system will track the number of miles driven while the seat belt is connected and make a comparison to the total number of miles driven by the vehicle. An application program on the operator's cellular phone corresponding to the seat belt usage monitor can be connected to the seat belt usage monitor system to transfer the usage data to the cellphone display, and to permit the function of uploading the data to a recipient selected by the operator, such as the operator's insurance company.
Method and control device for operating a display device which can be worn on the head in a motor vehicle
Operation of a head-worn display device in a motor vehicle includes a control device checking a condition of whether there is a vehicle occupant in the motor vehicle other than a driver, when the motor vehicle is not operated in an autonomous driving mode. If the condition is satisfied then a display of all content by the head-worn display device is stopped by the control device if the display device is virtual reality glasses and the display of exclusively traffic-relevant content by the display device is enabled by the control device if the display device is augmented reality glasses.
Control apparatus, seat belt apparatus, vehicle, method of operating system, and medium
A control apparatus includes a controller configured to, upon determining, based on behavior classification, that a behavior of a passenger detected from a captured image or a sound of inside of a vehicle is threatening, transmit a first instruction to increase tension of a seat belt worn by the passenger.
Vehicle
An embodiment vehicle includes an emergency light, a plurality of detectors, a communication device, and a processor configured to determine whether the vehicle is in a normal state based on detection information of the plurality of detectors when the emergency light is in a turned-on state, determine a turning-on cause of the emergency light based on current location information received by the communication device when it is determined that the vehicle is in the normal state, and control the communication device to transmit guide information corresponding to the determined turning-on cause of the emergency light to an external device.
METHOD FOR DETECTING MISUSE OF A SAFETY BELT AND SAFETY BELT SYSTEM
In a method for identifying misuse of a seat belt in a vehicle, vehicle data are detected and, based on said data, a plausibility check is performed for determining whether the seat belt is fastened as intended. Signals of at least one belt buckle sensor and of at least one webbing extension sensor are detected and a plausibility check for misuse is performed by taking the time course of the signals and/or the point in time of input of the signals into account so as to make a comparison with stored reference data. A seat belt system in a vehicle for carrying out said method comprises at least one belt buckle sensor and at least one webbing extension sensor as well as at least one seat occupation sensor, one door sensor, one vehicle acceleration sensor and/or one vehicle speedometer as well as a control unit in which the signals of the sensors are stored and evaluated.
