Seat belt wearing encouragement apparatus
A seat belt wearing encouragement apparatus includes a wearing state detecting unit to detect a wearing state of a seat belt; a wearing determination unit to determine whether the seat belt is worn, based on the wearing state; a vehicle speed detecting unit to detect a vehicle speed of the vehicle; a warning unit to warn the passenger; a warning command unit to issue a command to the warning unit to execute warning if the vehicle speed detecting unit has detected the vehicle speed exceeding a setting speed, and the wearing determination unit has determined that the seat belt is not being worn properly; and a vehicle speed limiting unit to limit the vehicle speed in a case where even after a predetermined time has elapsed since the warning was executed, the wearing determination unit still determines that the seat belt is not being worn properly.
Haptic Cues to Help Locate Seat Controls and Belt Buckles
A system to locate seat controls and belt buckles includes a vehicle having at least one seat. A seat belt system is provided with the at least one seat having a seat belt, a belt latch and a seat belt buckle. A haptic device is provided with the seat belt system, the haptic device generating a haptic signal.
Seatbelt buckle detection
The subject disclosure relates to techniques for detecting proper use of a seatbelt in a vehicle. A process of the disclosed technology can include steps for receiving, from a sensor, image data of one or more portions of a seatbelt. The process can further include steps for determining a length of the seatbelt that is dispensed based on the image data and determining if the seatbelt is buckled in front of a passenger's body based on the length of the seatbelt that is dispensed. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.
Connector Assembly
A system for securing a restraint system includes a retractor enclosing a spool, a sensor coupled to the spool, and a motor coupled to the spool and configured to rotate the spool about a spool rotation axis. The system also includes webbing configured to be wound and unwound from around the spool. An automatic locking retractor mode is enabled and disabled to selectively and automatically lock the retractor to prevent rotation of the spool when a predetermined length of the webbing is unwound from the spool.
Apparatus and method for detecting a proper application of a seat belt in a vehicle
An apparatus for proper application of a seat belt in a vehicle. The apparatus includes the seat belt and a seat belt buckle which is assigned to it and which is provided with a measuring device, arranged for measuring a tensile force exerted on the seat belt buckle. The apparatus further relates to an evaluation device for evaluating the measured tensile force. At the same time, it is provided that the apparatus is also equipped with a tightening device for applying a tightening force to the seat belt, as well as with a detection device for detecting the applied tightening force. The evaluation device compares the tensile force to the tightening force and determines based on a corresponding comparison result whether the seat belt has been properly placed and secured in the seat belt buckle.
VEHICLE PASSENGER SENSING AND REPORTING SYSTEM
An example embodiment of a system and methods for detecting and reporting whether passengers are seated and secured in their seats within a vehicle may include a passenger sensor configured to provide an output indicative of a presence of a passenger in a seat in a vehicle, a restraint sensor configured to provide an output indicative of a status of a passenger safety restraint associated with the seat, a transmitter configured to be in electronic communication with the passenger sensor and the restraint sensor and to wirelessly transmit data indicative of the presence of a passenger in the seat and the status of the restrain, and a reporting module configured to be disposed proximate a driver of the vehicle. The reporting module may be configured to receive the data from the transmitter, and output a respective status for each of a plurality of seats.
Belt retractor having a signal transmitter ring
The invention relates to a belt retractor comprising a signal transmitter ring (6) for a magnetic sensor (34), comprising a hub (14) which is connected to the belt reel in a rotationally fixed manner and comprising a signal transmitter portion (20) exhibiting periodically varying material properties when viewed in the circumferential direction, wherein the signal transmitter portion includes a stop (30) by which it abuts against a contact surface (32) associated therewith, and comprising a spring portion (18) acting on the signal transmitter portion relative to the hub so that the stop abuts against the contact surface.
Load-limiting seatbelt assembly
A seatbelt assembly includes a seatbelt retractor, a support spaced from the seatbelt retractor, and a webbing retractably engaged with the seatbelt retractor. The webbing is moveable relative to the support. The seatbelt assembly includes a magnet and a conductive material adjacent the magnet. One of the magnet and the conductive material is fixed to the support, and the other of the magnet and the conductive material is moveable by the webbing relative to the support.
In-Vehicle Control Apparatus
An in-vehicle control apparatus performs a hazard avoidance process. The in-vehicle control apparatus includes an anomaly determination section, an alarm control section, and a hazard avoidance control section. The anomaly determination section determines whether a driver is under driving inability state during travel of the vehicle, based on information on monitoring of state of the driver. The alarm control section activates an alarm annunciator to issue an alarm outwardly from the vehicle when the driver is determined to be under driving inability state. After the alarm annunciator starts the alarm, the hazard avoidance control section fails to perform the hazard avoidance process when the alarm is stopped by a manipulation of the driver and performs the hazard avoidance process when a specified time elapses under state where the alarm is not stopped since the starting of the alarm.
