Vehicle passenger accident prevention system and control method for the same

A vehicle passenger accident prevention system includes a vehicle operation status measurement unit that measures operation states of a vehicle and outputs corresponding signals, a driving unit to drive the vehicle, a braking unit to brake the vehicle, a FCA system that controls the operation of the driving unit and the braking unit, and a controller that detects the seated state of a passenger in the vehicle or a wearing state of a seat belt according to the output signal of the vehicle operation status measurement unit. In particular, the controller controls the operation of the FCA system according to a predetermined control mode in advance when a standing passenger in the vehicle is detected or an unbuckled seat belt is detected.

Utility vehicle

A utility vehicle includes a frame assembly defined by a lower frame assembly and an upper frame assembly coupled to the lower frame assembly. The frame assembly supports a plurality of body panels. A roof, front windshield, rear windshield, and doors may be coupled to the frame assembly to enclose the operator area.

Vehicle driveline protected system

A vehicle includes a torque generating system configured to generate torque through a driveline, a transmission, an accelerator position sensor configured to generate an accelerator pedal voltage signal indicative of a position of an accelerator pedal, and an electronic parking brake (EPB). A torque control system is programmed to determine the EPB is engaged, determine a gear of the transmission is in Drive or Reverse, and apply a predetermined limit to the accelerator pedal voltage signal to thereby apply a torque limit to the torque generating system to protect the driveline while the EPB is engaged.

System For Detecting Improper Use Of A Seatbelt

A system for detecting improper use of a seatbelt on a seat in a work machine is disclosed. The system comprises: a plurality of detection devices disposed on a plurality of locations within a cab of the work machine; a detection strip/tape on a strategic location of the seatbelt and configured to be detected by the plurality of detection devices; a controller coupled in communication to the plurality of detection devices, the controller configured to: receive input signals from the plurality of detection devices, wherein at least one input signal is indicative of improper use of the seatbelt; and communicate control signals to at least one operational system associated with the work machine upon receipt of an at least one input signal indicative of improper use of the seatbelt.

Detection of unsafe cabin conditions in autonomous vehicles

Devices, systems and processes for the detection of unsafe cabin conditions that provides a safer passenger experience in autonomous vehicles are described. One example method for enhancing passenger safety includes capturing at least a set of images of one or more passengers in the vehicle, determining, based on the set of images, the occurrence of an unsafe activity in an interior of the vehicle, performing, using a neural network, a classification of the unsafe activity, and performing, based on the classification, one or more responsive actions.

Systems and methods for controlling operation of a vehicle are described herein. According to exemplary embodiments, an off-road vehicle includes a chassis, a seating area supported by the chassis, one or more sensors configured to acquire data to facilitate detecting whether one or more conditions are met for unrestricted operation of the off-road vehicle, and a control system. The control system is configured to acquire the data from the one or more sensors and restrict operation of the off-road vehicle responsive to determining that at least one of the one or more conditions is not met. The control system is configured to permit unrestricted operation of the off-road vehicle responsive to determining that the one or more conditions are met.
