A stationary steering wheel assembly includes a steering wheel connected to an axially extending column. The assembly also includes a steering wheel locking component engageable with the steering wheel and moveable between a first position and a second position, the first position locking the steering wheel to prevent rotation and the second position unlocking the steering wheel to allow rotation of the steering wheel.

A lock for an antitheft device for a motor vehicle steering column is provided and includes a stator having a stator head with an opening, a rotor rotatably mounted about an axis with respect to the stator having an annular flange, a cam to rotate as one with the rotor, and an elastic element arranged between the cam and the rotor in order to exert a thrust load axially on the rotor. The opening of the stator is designed to engage with the annular flange to prevent the rotor from rotating in a predetermined rotation direction from a predetermined angular position and allows the rotor to rotate beyond the predetermined angular position by prior depression of the rotor.

A band-based lock is provided. The band-based lock may include a flexible band with a substantially thin profile and include inner metal layers and wires and/or jacketed metal layers so that the band may be more difficult to cut. The band-based lock may include a feed mechanism coupled to the flexible band. The feed mechanism may provide for the flexible band to be fed through the feed mechanism, putting the flexible band in a loop. The feed mechanism may allow the flexible band to be fed through the feed mechanism in one direction when in a tightening or locked position. The feed mechanism may allow this one-way feed through use of a pawl including one or more teeth engaging with teeth formed on the flexible band. In a release position, the feed mechanism may allow the flexible band to be fed backward through the feed mechanism opening the loop.

At least one blocking member prevents a rotation of the cylinder core in the cylinder housing in a blocking position and in a releasing position releases a rotation in the cylinder housing. A key channel extends through the cylinder core in which a key is insertable and with which the blocking member is movable between the blocking position and the releasing position. At least two rotation positions can be occupied. In the off-position a key is insertable and detractable in the key channel and in the starting position a vehicle starter can be switched on. A mechanical resetting block prevents a resetting of the cylinder core from the starting position to the off-position by a simple rotation of the cylinder core.

A lockable device is arranged for blocking the control lever slot of a zero turn radius (ZTR) vehicle. In one embodiment, the lockable device includes a first portion and a second portion which adjust between a contracted position and an expanded position. The lockable device presents first and second projecting members which can be placed under the edges of a control lever slot of a ZTR vehicle. The lockable device may be contracted to be received by a ZTR control lever slot and then may be expanded so that the first and second projecting members of the lockable device are received under the edges of the control lever slot. The lockable device may also be integral within the vehicle. An integral lock or a padlock may be used to secure the lockable device in the expanded position in a control lever slot to prevent movement of a control lever.

The assembly further includes a steering shaft locking component engageable with the steering shaft and moveable between a first position and a second position, the first position locking the steering shaft to prevent axial translation and the second position unlocking the steering shaft to allow axial translation of the steering shaft, the steering shaft locking component being in the second position in an autonomous driving mode, the autonomous driving mode comprising an advanced driving assist system controlling road wheels of a vehicle resulting in rotation of the lower shaft.

The body has a first face and second face disposed about the first end, an inner bore configured to receive a keyed cylinder, and a holding block extending from the second face towards the second end. The steering angle ratio adjustment motor is supported and fixed at a part of a steering column forward than a portion at which the steering column is supported with respect to a support frame. In the event of primary collision, the steering angle ratio adjustment motor collides with the support frame and is thereby prevented from being displaced rearward beyond the support frame.
