MELON CULTIVARS ME466, ME467, ME468, ME469, ME470 AND ME480
The present invention provides novel melon plants and plant parts, seed, fruit, and tissue culture therefrom. The invention also provides methods for producing a melon plant by crossing the melon plants of the invention with themselves or another melon plant. The invention also provides plants produced from such a crossing as well as plant parts, seed, fruit, and tissue culture therefrom.
Multiple-virus-resistant melon
The invention relates to a melon plant, and parts thereof including seeds and fruit, that is resistant to Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus (ZYMV) and Watermelon Mosaic Virus (WMV). The melon plant may further comprise resistance to Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV) and/or further display a Brix measurement of ≥9.5° Bx, orange flesh color, and/or a fruit width to length ratio of ≥0.5. Methods for producing such a plant are also provided.
TOLCNDV RESISTANT MELON PLANTS
The application concerns melon plants (Cucumis melo) resistant to infection with tomato leaf curl New Dehli virus (ToLCNDV). The resistant melon plants have a genomic introgression fragment on chromosome 5 which confers tolerance to ToLCNDV in a dominant manner. Also disclosed are markers for identifying those fragments, methods for identifying or producing resistant melon plants.
MELON HYBRID SVMF6766 AND PARENTS THEREOF
The invention provides seed and plants of melon hybrid SVMF6766 and the parent lines thereof. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds, and tissue cultures of melon hybrid SVMF6766 and the parent lines thereof and to methods for producing a melon plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another melon plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to plants, seeds, plant parts, and tissue cultures of melon hybrid SVMF6766, melon line HAR-DV16-4328MO, and melon line CAN-DV16-4353AN comprising introduced beneficial or desirable traits.
Melon hybrid SVMF6955 and parents thereof
The invention provides seed and plants of melon hybrid SVMF6955 and the parent lines thereof. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds, and tissue cultures of melon hybrid SVMF6955 and the parent lines thereof and to methods for producing a melon plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another melon plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to plants, seeds, plant parts, and tissue cultures of melon hybrid SVMF6955, melon line HAR-DV16-4330MO, and melon line CAN-DV16-4354AN comprising introduced beneficial or desirable traits.
The invention further relates to plants, seeds, plant parts, and tissue cultures of melon hybrid SVMF6766, melon line HAR-DV16-4328M0, and melon line CAN-DV16-4353AN comprising introduced beneficial or desirable traits.
Resistance to ToLCNDV in melons
The present invention is directed to melon plant and seed, namely of C. melo subsp. melo, which are resistant to ToLCNDV, comprising in their genome introgressed sequences from C. melo subsp. agrestis var. acidulous conferring resistance to said virus, when present homozygously. The introgressed sequences are preferably characterized by defined alleles of SNPs on chromosome 11, inter alia allele A of SNP Melon_sbg_14207_58 (SEQ ID No:9). The introgressed sequences can be chosen from those present in the genome of a plant of ToLR1 accession number NCIMB 42506. The invention is also directed to parts of these resistant plants, as well as progeny, to the use of these plants for introgressing the resistance in another genetic background, as well as to different methods for obtaining resistant melon plants or seeds.
Melon plants with improved disease tolerance
The present disclosure provides melon plants exhibiting tolerance to cucurbit yellow stunt disorder virus (CYSDV) and lacking negative traits associated with CYSDV tolerance such as increased fruit size and reduced fruit set. Such plants may comprise novel introgressed genomic regions associated with disease tolerance. In certain aspects, compositions, including novel polymorphic markers and methods for producing, breeding, identifying, and selecting plants or germplasm with a disease tolerance phenotype are provided.
MELON PLANTS WITH IMPROVED DISEASE RESISTANCE
Melon plants exhibiting resistance to Tomato leaf curl New Delhi virus (ToLCNDV) are provided, together with methods of producing, identifying, or selecting plants or germplasm with a ToLCNDV resistance phenotype. Such plants include melon plants comprising introgressed genomic regions conferring disease resistance. Compositions, including novel polymorphic markers for detecting plants comprising introgressed disease resistance alleles, are further provided.
MELON WITH RED FLESH LINKED TO EARLINESS
The present disclosure provides Cucumis melo inbred line CHA-ZA15-0014AN. The present disclosure also provides methods to select, produce, and grow these plants, parts of such plants, and products made from those parts. The disclosure also includes progeny of the provided plants including hybrid and inbred lines.
