VEHICLE REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM, VEHICLE-MOUNTED DEVICE OR COMMUNICATION MODULE, VEHICLE, SERVER, VEHICLE REMOTE CONTROL METHOD, VEHICLE REMOTE CONTROL PROGRAM AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A vehicle remote reservation control system capable of switching a vehicle to a starting-disabled state even when communication between a server and a vehicle-mounted device is not stablished is provided. The system includes a server for managing a starting state of a vehicle; and a vehicle-mounted device or a communication module for controlling the starting state of the vehicle based on a control command. The control command includes at least a starting state reservation control command for switching between a starting-disabled state and a starting-enabled state of the vehicle. When the vehicle-mounted device or the communication module receives the control command from the server, if a predetermined condition regarding the starting state reservation control command is satisfied on the basis of vehicle information detected by a vehicle information detecting means, the vehicle-mounted device or the communication module switches the starting state of the vehicle.

AUTHENTICATION DEVICE, VEHICLE HAVING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE
An authentication device, a vehicle having the same, and a method of controlling the vehicle are provided. The device includes a recognizer configured to recognize a fingerprint of a user, a storage configured to store fingerprint information of the user, a communicator configured to communicate with a driving device of a vehicle; and a controller configured to, when the fingerprint matches the fingerprint information, transmit, to the driving device, authentication success information representing a user authentication that is valid for a first predetermined period of time, and, when the fingerprint does not match the fingerprint information, restrict fingerprint recognition for a second predetermined period of time.

AUTONOMOUS DRIVING VEHICLE AND DRIVERLESS TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
When an autonomous driving vehicle picks a user up, a control device performs departure condition confirmation processing. The departure condition confirmation processing includes first authentication processing that performs authentication of the user outside the autonomous driving vehicle based on first authentication information, door lock release processing that releases a door lock in response to the completion of the first authentication processing, second authentication information provision processing that makes the user acquire second authentication information different from the first authentication information in response to the completion of the first authentication processing, second authentication processing that performs authentication of the user inside a vehicle cabin of the autonomous driving vehicle based on the second authentication information, and start permission processing that permits the start of the autonomous driving vehicle in a case where the second authentication processing is completed.

OPERATOR PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method includes receiving a request to assume control of a vehicle generated by a candidate operator via a first communication pathway. The method obtains a key from an onboard controller of the vehicle and communicates the key to the candidate operator via a second communication pathway that is different from the first communication pathway. The method determines the candidate operator to be a confirmed operator based at least in part on obtaining the key from the candidate operator via the first communication pathway.

Rental/Car-Share Vehicle Access and Management System and Method
A system is described that wirelessly connects vehicles with a remote computer system using a vehicle control unit that is re-usable with different vehicles. The vehicle control unit can be detachably connectable with different vehicles over time to support rental transactions of the vehicles to which it is connected. Pairing techniques are described for linking the vehicle control unit with the vehicle to which it is connected. Furthermore, to re-use that vehicle control unit with a different vehicle, an unpairing process can be used to de-link the vehicle control unit from a first vehicle; and that vehicle control unit can then be paired with a different vehicle. To support the rental transactions, the remote computer system can send wireless signals to the vehicle control unit to control one or more vehicle functions of the paired vehicle to which the vehicle control unit is connected.
