Parking environment management system and method
A system and method for managing a permit-based parking environment governed by a parking program. The permit-based parking environment includes a number of parking permits each including a unique RFID tag and tag number. One or more RFID readers are used to scan the vehicles parked in the parking environment to determine if a RFID tag is associated with the parked vehicle. The results of the scan along with information related to the parked vehicle are provided to a permit management system to determine if the vehicle is parked within the scope of privileges pre-defined for that vehicle, pursuant to the parking program governing the parking environment. The permit management system stores, manages, and monitors data related to the permits controlled under the parking program.
Immobilizer device for a wheel
An immobilizer device is provided for preventing the travel of a wheel, particularly the wheel of a vehicle. The immobilizer device utilizes an elongated pin to pass through a portion or aperture of the wheel, and the immobilizer device prevents travel of the wheel by acting as a chock. Some embodiments of the immobilizer device comprise an indexing feature to guide the elongated pin into an aperture and a receiver tube to guide the elongated pin into another aperture. Then the elongated pin may be placed in a locked position to secure the immobilizer device to the wheel.
Tamper resistant device for an appliance
A tamper resistant device for an appliance for preventing unauthorized access to and manipulation of the controls for a water heater or the like. The tamper resistant device for an appliance includes a support assembly adapted to secure about a back of a control unit of an appliance and a cover member removably securable to the support assembly and adapted to cover the control unit of the appliance.
Anti-theft device of operational vehicle
An anti-theft device of an operational vehicle, in which an operation of cancelling an anti-theft mode is simply and easily performed, is provided. The anti-theft device includes: a travel regulation unit (70) which maintains, when the anti-theft mode is set, the operational vehicle (1) in a state where the operational vehicle (1) cannot travel; and a wireless operation terminal (80) which wirelessly operates an operational device (20). When the wireless operation terminal (80) communicates with a controller (70), the wireless operation terminal (80) performs identification authentication, and when the identification authentication between the wireless operation terminal (80) and the controller (70) is successfully performed, the travel regulation unit (70) cancels the anti-theft mode. Since the wireless operation terminal (80) is only made to communicate with the controller (70), and thus the anti-theft mode is cancelled, the operation of cancelling the anti-theft mode is simply and easily performed.
VEHICLE DRIVE AWAY PREVENTION
A vehicle drive away prevention system (10,100) and method includes at least one vehicle drive away prevention apparatus (11,110) selectively allowing or preventing/restricting a vehicle leaving a holding zone. The apparatus has at least one detection means (18,118) for detecting at least one parameter indicative of movement or anticipated movement of the vehicle within the holding zone, and control means responsive to the at least one detection means to control operation of the vehicle drive away pre venter apparatus to prevent the vehicle from leaving the holding zone (14) when the at least one detection means (18,118) detects the at least one parameter indicative of actual movement or anticipated movement of the vehicle. One or more barriers (26,126) can be deployed in front of and/or behind a wheel of the vehicle if attempted or suspected vehicle drive away is detected.
Multi-diameter clamp for clamping on tires of different sizes
A multi-diameter clamp for clamping on tires of different sizes is provided. The multi-diameter clamp comprises at least one clamping unit, at least one actuator, and at least one sensing unit. The at least one clamping unit further includes at least one movable member and a fixed member. Wherein the at least one movable member moves within a tire housing space having a starting position and a clamping position. The tire housing space locates between the movable member and the fixed member for clamping on a tire. The at least one actuator connects to the at least one movable member, and enables the at least one moveable member to move between the starting position and the clamping position. The at least a sensing unit obtains a diameter size of the tire, and based on the diameter size, actuates the at least one actuator corresponding to the diameter size.
Wheel lock
A wheel lock having an L-shaped member and a hub mount. When coupled to a wheel of a trailer, the rotation of the wheel forces the L-shaped member into the ground, or into the underside of the trailer, thus immobilizing the wheel from rotating. Additionally, a puck lock, and a locking member having a lock guard, are utilized to ensure that the lock is not tampered with. Furthermore, a shield is incorporated to prevent an unauthorized user from removing the fasteners that secure the wheel lock to the wheel of the trailer.
