INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIAL VEHICLES
A system collects information related to a lockout event that occurs on an industrial vehicle. A lockout condition associated with an industrial vehicle is detected by a processor executing on the industrial vehicle. Responsive thereto, the industrial vehicle operator is locked out so that the industrial vehicle cannot be driven from its locked location. A message is wirelessly communicated to a server application that indicates that the industrial vehicle has been locked. When the processor executing on the industrial vehicle receives a command to unlock the industrial vehicle, the industrial vehicle is unlocked and the identity is stored, of the person who unlocked the industrial vehicle.
UNATTENDED COMMODITY SELLING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM USING VEHICLE
An unattended commodity selling assistance system using a vehicle. The vehicle includes a trunk, one or more vehicle mounted cameras, an image data acquisition unit, an identification unit, a notification unit, and a communication device. The trunk is configured to provide room for a commodity. The one or more vehicle mounted cameras configured to capture an image of a surrounding view of the vehicle and an image of an inside view of the trunk. The notification unit is configured to, on the condition that the identification unit identifies an intruder other than a purchaser as being present in the trunk, give an intruder alarm notification. The communication device is configured to, on the condition that the identification unit identifies the commodity as being stolen by the intruder, give a theft notification to a public organization.
SECURING A VEHICLE
A parking system includes a parking lot having a parking space for parking a motor vehicle; sensors for scanning the parking lot; and a processing unit for assisting in a parking or pickup operation of the motor vehicle independently of a driver, the processing unit being designed to determine that a motor vehicle which is detected inside the parking lot with the aid of the sensors is driving outside a parking or pickup operation controlled independently of a driver, and to trigger an action in response.
On board monitoring device
An onboard device comprising a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. The onboard device also comprises a transceiver and a global positioning system (GPS) receiver. In some embodiments, the memory of the onboard device stores a program that, when executed causes the processor to monitor voltage levels of a main battery of a vehicle for presence of a start sequence of a vehicle, detect movement of the vehicle, and send a message to an operations center indicating movement of the vehicle without occurrence of the start sequence.
Method for preventing thefts of motor vehicles
The disclosure relates to a method for preventing thefts of motor vehicles. The method includes detecting motor vehicles within a predetermined neighborhood of a motor vehicle to be monitored. The method further includes sending a query data record from the motor vehicle to be monitored to the detected motor vehicles. The method also includes monitoring of the motor vehicle to be monitored by the detected motor vehicles on reception of the query data record.
Methods and apparatus for impeding a vehicle entry system relay attack
Some embodiments are directed to a vehicle remote keyless entry system that can control functions of a vehicle can include a transceiver, a processor based controller, and a remote device. The controller is configured to predefine one or more substantially concentric radio frequency authorization zones around the controller that includes at least a first zone and a second zone, a boundary of the second zone being predefined as closer around the controller than a boundary of the first zone. The controller is configured to instruct the transceiver to transmit a polling signal, which can be received by the remote device within the one or more concentric authorization zones, with different polling intervals for each of the first zone and the second zone. The controller selectively enables one or more of the vehicle functions when the controller determines the remote device is located outside of the second zone.

Device, system, and method for an electronic response to a potential carjacking
A device, system, and method for an electronic response to a potential carjacking is provided. A device receives: a location and vehicle ignition status of a vehicle; and sensor data generated by one or more sensors that are onboard the vehicle, the sensor data different from the location and the vehicle ignition status. The device determines whether the location of the vehicle is associated with a carjacking type of location, and whether a combination of the vehicle ignition status and the sensor data meet a carjacking threshold condition. When both the location of the vehicle is associated with the carjacking type of location and the carjacking threshold condition is met, the device: outputs an alert at the vehicle indicative of, or associated with, the potential carjacking; and/or causes, a notification to be transmitted to a communication device associated with a public safety agency or a monitoring service.
Methods and systems related to a remote tamper detection
Remote tamper detection, some example embodiment methods including: receiving signals indicative of a location, the receiving by a first device coupled to an asset; periodically sending a signal of operability from the first device to a second device, the second device coupled to the asset, and the second device configured to selectively disable the asset; receiving a first command from a remote operations center, the receiving by the first device; sending a second command from the first device to the second device, wherein the second command is sent responsive to the receiving of the first command; disabling the asset by the second device when receipt of the signal of operability has ceased or the second command is a disable command; and issuing from the first device an indication of the location of the first device, the issuing from the first device by a wireless transmission to the remote operations center.
