When an autonomous driving vehicle picks a user up, a control device performs departure condition confirmation processing. The departure condition confirmation processing includes first authentication processing that performs authentication of the user outside the autonomous driving vehicle based on first authentication information, door lock release processing that releases a door lock in response to the completion of the first authentication processing, second authentication information provision processing that makes the user acquire second authentication information different from the first authentication information in response to the completion of the first authentication processing, second authentication processing that performs authentication of the user inside a vehicle cabin of the autonomous driving vehicle based on the second authentication information, and start permission processing that permits the start of the autonomous driving vehicle in a case where the second authentication processing is completed.

Systems and methods for providing product samples to users in autonomous vehicles, thereby allowing businesses to advertise their products via the rideshare platform. A physical advertising platform is provided leveraging existing rideshare and delivery infrastructure to allow businesses to advertise their products by providing samples in rideshare vehicles and/or with rideshare vehicle deliveries. Consumers have the opportunity to try new products from local businesses that they may otherwise not be exposed to. In some implementations, a rideshare application interface can allow users to see what new local product samples are available. In some examples, a user can select one or more product samples to try.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
A vehicle 2 is provided with an authentication system 4 which enables operating a user's terminal 3 as a key to the vehicle 2. The authentication system 4 performs authentication by means of near-field communication between the terminal 3 and a wireless authentication device 22 and operates a device 20. A determination unit 33 confirms the use state of the terminal 3 at the time when near-field communication was performed, and determines whether or not the confirmed use state of the terminal 3 satisfies a condition for stopping or restricting the key function. If the determination unit 33 has determined that the confirmed use state of the terminal 3 satisfies the condition for stopping or restricting the key function, then a processing unit 36 performs processing for stopping or restricting the key function.

A vehicle control apparatus is mounted on a vehicle to perform wireless communication with a portable terminal. The vehicle control apparatus includes a first processor configured to execute a first process including a determination process that determines whether or not a received signal, which is a wireless signal received by an antenna mounted on the vehicle and encoded, is a regular wireless signal transmitted from the portable terminal by determining whether or not a counted number of short bits sandwiched by two long bits adjacent to each other in the received signal is an even number.
Method for unlocking vehicle door using mobile terminal
The present invention provides a method for unlocking a vehicle door using a mobile terminal. The unlocking method comprises: authenticating, by a mobile key management server, a user and a smartphone of the user; authenticating, by the mobile key management server, a vehicle having a door to be unlocked using the authenticated smartphone; generating, by the mobile key management server, a mobile key issuance algorithm corresponding to the authenticated vehicle and smartphone; issuing, by the mobile key management server, a mobile key, using the generated mobile key issuance algorithm, in response to a request from the smartphone; receiving, at the mobile key management server, the issued mobile key via the smartphone and the vehicle; confirming, by the mobile key management server, whether the issued mobile key matches the received mobile key; and requesting, by the mobile key management server, the vehicle to unlock the door thereof, when the issued mobile key matches the received mobile key.
CLOUD-BASED MANAGEMENT OF USER ACCOUNTS, USER PROFILES AND USER DEVICES ASSOCIATED WITH A VEHICLE
Systems and methods are provided for associating, by a server and in a data store maintained by the server, a user account with a vehicle; associating, by the server and in the data store, the user account with a user profile, the user profile including one or more preferred vehicle attribute settings; upon receiving an indication that a user is approaching the vehicle, causing, by the server, the user account to be automatically logged into at the vehicle; in response to logging into the user account, retrieving, by the server, the user profile associated with the user account; and causing, by the server, the user profile to be loaded at the vehicle such that attributes of the vehicle are modified based on the preferred vehicle attribute settings stored in the user profile.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING A DRIVER'S POSITION AROUND OR INSIDE A VEHICLE
Disclosed embodiments include systems, vehicles, and methods for selectively activating or deactivating systems associated with an object based on a position of a transmission source relative to the object. In an illustrative embodiment, a system includes signal sensing devices positionable around an object that are configured to detect a transmission signal from a transmission source. A control system is operably coupled with the signal sensing devices. The control system is configured to determine a position of the transmission source relative to the object, the position including an orientation relative to the object and/or a location within a perimeter of the object, based on a relative received signal strength of the transmission signal received by at least one of the signal sensing devices and to initiate operation of at least one subsystem associated with the object based on the position of the transmission source relative to the object.

TAILGATE LOCK ASSEMBLY
A system for securing a tailgate to a vehicle body includes a housing secured to one of the tailgate and the vehicle body, the housing including a passageway. A projection is secured to the other of the tailgate and the vehicle body and is rotatably received by the housing in an attached state to rotatably attach the tailgate to the vehicle body and is separated from the housing in a detached state to permit removal of the tailgate from the vehicle body. The system also includes a locking mechanism operable in a locked state to block the passageway and prevent movement of the projection from the attached state to the detached state and an unlocked state opening the passageway to permit movement of the projection from the attached state to the detached state.

A vehicle includes a communication interface, a sensor configured to detect biological information for a user of the vehicle, and a controller configured to perform electronic payments. The controller receives authentication information from a first terminal apparatus using the communication interface and acquires the biological information from the sensor when a first authentication using the received authentication information succeeds. The controller acquires authorization information indicating authorization to perform an electronic payment for the user, who is associated with the authentication information, when a second authentication using the acquired biological information succeeds.
