20210101522 · 2021-04-08 ·

A method for determining presence of a person's hand at an exterior door handle assembly for a vehicular door includes providing an exterior door handle assembly having a base portion, a handle portion and a pocket lighting and sensing module, with the pocket lighting and sensing module including at least one light emitting diode and at least one light sensor. With the base portion mounted at the exterior door handle region of the vehicular door, the light emitting diode is energized to emit light to illuminate a pocket surface at the base portion, and the light sensor light senses light emitted by the light emitting diode that is reflected off the pocket surface at the base portion. Responsive to light sensed by the light sensor being below a threshold level, the pocket lighting and sensing module determines a presence of a person's hand at the handle portion.

Vehicle authentication apparatus

A vehicle authentication apparatus includes first and second communication devices, first and second area determination devices, and a control execution device. The first communication device specifies a first area as a communication area. The second communication device specifies a second area as the communication area. The first area determination device determines whether the mobile devices are present at the first area based on a communication status of the first communication device with the mobile devices. The second area determination device determines whether at least one of mobile devices is present at the second area based on a communication status of the second communication device with the mobile devices. The control execution device executes predetermined vehicle control in response to determining no mobile devices being present at the first area; and determining at least one of the mobile devices being present at the second area.

Preventive Action Based on Estimated Intent
20210107430 · 2021-04-15 · ·

An electronic device that selectively performs a preventive action is described. During operation, the electronic device may acquire, using one or more sensors, a measurement in an environment that is external to the electronic device, where the measurement provides information associated with an object, and the measurement is a non-contact measurement. Then, the electronic device may detect the object based at least in part on the measurement. Moreover, the electronic device may estimate an intent of the object based at least in part on the measurement. Next, when the estimated intent is associated with a type of adverse event, the electronic device may perform the preventive action prior to an occurrence of the type of adverse event, where the preventive action reduces a probability of the occurrence of the type of adverse event or an amount of financial damage associated with the occurrence of the type of adverse event.

Remote control of a system of key related functions of a vehicle

A method for remotely controlling a system of key related functions of a vehicle, the system is connectable with a remote unit over a communication network, is capable of transferring audio data. The method includes receiving at the vehicle over the communication network a sequence for the system wherein the sequence comprises a first sound sequence, and performing a key related function in the system in response to receiving the sequence.

REMOTE LOGIN PROCESSING METHOD, APPARATUS, DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM FOR UNMANNED VEHICLE

The present disclosure discloses a remote login processing method, apparatus, device and storage medium for an unmanned vehicle, and relates to the technical field of remote control. The implementation method of the specific method includes: sending a login request to an unmanned vehicle terminal through a first communication channel in response to a the login request received from an operator, and waiting to receive a reply instruction returned by the unmanned vehicle terminal; returning the reply instruction to the operator through the second communication channel in response to the reply instruction received from the unmanned vehicle terminal, so that the operator logs in the unmanned vehicle terminal according to the reply instruction, where there is a persistent connection state that unidirectionally authenticated between the second communication channel and the unmanned vehicle terminal.

Motor vehicle door lock device
10954701 · 2021-03-23 · ·

A motor vehicle door lock device comprises a locking mechanism, a locking motor, an electric release mechanism, an opening lever, and an outside handle. An ECU includes an authenticating portion. When the authenticating portion authenticates a signal from a transmitter and the locking mechanism starts switching from a locking state to an unlocking state by the locking motor, ECU controls a releasing motor so that the electric release mechanism is actuated because a switch detects door-opening action of the outside handle. The locking mechanism is switched to the unlocking state without contacting the opening lever from a direction where the opening lever cannot be actuated. A locked door can be opened with the outside handle at a single action and prevents a panic.

METHOD FOR LOCKING AND/OR UNLOCKING A VEHICLE
20210039593 · 2021-02-11 ·

A method for locking and/or unlocking a vehicle having an input device for a code on the vehicle, via which the vehicle can be locked and/or unlocked, involves requesting the code via a mobile device having a mobile number registered to the respective vehicle with a data server. After the request, the data server generates a current code and send this to the mobile device and to the vehicle. The code can then be input via the input device and compared to the code sent to the vehicle and, should they match, locking and/or unlocking of the vehicle is enabled.

Method for controlling access to a vehicle according to different strategies
10946835 · 2021-03-16 · ·

A method for controlling access to a vehicle, the vehicle being equipped with an access module and a keypad, an user having a portable device configured to communicate with said access module, the access module being designed to determine a relative position of the portable device with respect to the vehicle, the keypad being positioned outside the vehicle, wherein when the access module detects that the portable device is inside the vehicle and is in an inactive state, wherein said portable device is unable to authorize user access to the vehicle and start of the vehicle, then vehicle unlocking is authorized by a multiple switch operation in a predetermined sequence on the keypad, and wherein after vehicle unlocking, the access module puts the portable device in an active state, wherein said portable device is able to authorize user access to the vehicle.

Portable terminal, remote operation method for vehicle, and program

A vehicle entry system that comprises a portable terminal and an onboard device that wirelessly communicates with the portable terminal. The onboard device has a door opening/closing unit that can lock a vehicle door in a closed state and open the vehicle door to a prescribed angle; and an onboard control unit that, on the basis of commands transmitted from an authenticated portable terminal, controls a vehicle drive system and the door opening/closing unit. The portable terminal has a touch panel and a terminal control unit that outputs commands to the onboard control unit. A plurality of icons are displayed on the touch panel includes an advance-and-open-door icon for giving a command to advance the vehicle door and then open the vehicle door; and a reverse-and-open-door icon for giving a command to reverse the vehicle door and, after reversing, to open the vehicle door.

Wireless communication system

A wireless communication system includes: an in-vehicle unit mounted on a vehicle and capable of wirelessly transmitting an access signal when an operation unit is operated; a portable device capable of wirelessly transmitting a vehicle-specific authentication code on a condition that the access signal is received; and a determination unit capable of determining whether or not the authentication code is a regular authentication code on a condition that the authentication code is received. Start of a driving source of the vehicle is permitted or running of the vehicle is enabled when the determination unit determines that the authentication code is the regular authentication code, and a security mode in which a function of transmitting the access signal by the in-vehicle unit or a function of transmitting the authentication code by the portable device is stopped can be set by a predetermined setting operation.
