Methods and systems for a detecting an intruder near or within a vehicle are disclosed. Specifically, a method to detect and identify a person near or within a vehicle as an authorized or an unauthorized user is provided. In the event an unauthorized user is detected within a vehicle, the system may take a number of actions. In one embodiment, the actions comprise providing notice to one or more authorized users of the vehicle, disabling the vehicle, notifying emergency personnel or police, and emitting a visual or audio alarm.

Systems and methods of coordinating the travel to a common destination by a destination coordination module. The destination coordination module can receive locations for one or more people and generate directions to the common location for each person. The destination coordination module can receive updated position information for each person and determine if a person is travelling to an incorrect destination. After determining a person is travelling to an incorrect destination, the destination coordination module can send an alert and updated directions to the common destination.

A system for providing a projected security zone adjacent a vehicle includes an external projector in communication with a system controller and adapted to project a first graphic onto a surface adjacent the vehicle, the first graphic defining a pre-determined security zone, and a plurality of onboard sensors in communication with the system controller and adapted to detect the presence of an individual positioned within the projected security zone, the system controller adapted to provide a warning to the individual.

To determine whether a user is authorized to make a particular audio request during navigation, a client device receives a request for navigation directions from a starting location to a destination location. The client device provides a set of navigation directions for traversing to the destination location along a route. During a navigation session, an audio request related to the route is received from a user. The client device determines an authorization level of the user based on the audio request, and provides a response to the request based on the authorization level of the user.

SECURE TELEMATICS

A telematics system that includes a security controller is provided. The security controller is responsible for ensuring secure access to and controlled use of resources in the vehicle. The security measures relied on by the security controller can be based on digital certificates that grant rights to certificate holders, e.g., application developers. In the case in which applications are to be used with vehicle resources, procedures are implemented to make sure that certified applications do not jeopardize vehicle resources' security and vehicle users' safety. Relationships among interested entities are established to promote and support secure vehicle resource access and usage. The entities can include vehicle makers, communication service providers, communication apparatus vendors, vehicle subsystem suppliers, application developers, as well as vehicle owners/users. At least some of the entities can be members of a federation established to enhance and facilitate secure access and usage of vehicle resources.

The method also includes, by the vehicle, upon receiving the signal associated to the voice command from the key-fob, performing a corresponding action.

RECORDING VIDEO OF AN OPERATOR AND A SURROUNDING VISUAL FIELD

Systems and methods are provided for recording video of a driver in a vehicle and a surrounding visual field of the driver. The system includes a detachable body coupled to a windshield of a vehicle. The system further includes three or more cameras coupled to the detachable body. The three or more cameras are configured to capture surrounding views from the detachable body. One of the three or more cameras faces a driver seat of the vehicle in response to the detachable body being coupled to the windshield of the vehicle. The video may be processed by the system, the cloud, or a combination of them.
