Projected security zone

A system for providing a projected security zone adjacent a vehicle includes an external projector in communication with a system controller and adapted to project a first graphic onto a surface adjacent the vehicle, the first graphic defining a pre-determined security zone, and a plurality of onboard sensors in communication with the system controller and adapted to detect the presence of an individual positioned within the projected security zone, the system controller adapted to provide a warning to the individual.

Systems and methods for performing commands in a vehicle using speech and image recognition

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for implementation of a vehicle command operation system that may use multi-modal technology to authenticate an occupant of the vehicle to authorize a command and receive natural language commands for vehicular operations. The system may utilize sensors to receive data indicative of a voice command from an occupant of the vehicle. The system may receive second sensor data to aid in the determination of the corresponding vehicular operation in response to the received command. The system may retrieve authentication data for the occupants of the vehicle. The system authenticates the occupant to authorize a vehicular operation command using a neural network based on at least one of the first sensor data, the second sensor data, and the authentication data. Responsive to the authentication, the system may authorize the operation to be performed in the vehicle based on the vehicular operation command.

REMOVABLE STEERING WHEELS OF VEHICLES AND RELATED METHODS

Systems, apparatus, articles of manufacture, and methods are disclosed to remove a steering wheel of a vehicle. As disclosed herein, a non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed, cause processor circuitry of a vehicle to: detect a request to remove a steering wheel from a steering system of a vehicle; verify a user identity based on a user profile, the user profile stored in a memory associated with the vehicle; determine whether a disengagement criterion is satisfied; and after the user identity is detected and the disengagement criterion is satisfied, disengage a lock to enable removal of the steering wheel from the steering system of the vehicle.

Ranging with biometric information

Techniques are provided for authenticating a user based on ranging and biometric information. An example method for transmitting a ranging signal from a mobile device includes receiving biometric information from a user with the mobile device, generating a ranging signal including an indication of the biometric information with the mobile device, and transmitting the ranging signal with the mobile device.

A system for preventing an unauthorized and/or hazardous use of a vehicle. The system may include a first sensor; a driver recognition module in communication with the first sensor, the driver recognition module is configured to determine an identity of a driver based on readings of the first sensor; a second sensor; a driver condition determination module in communication with the second sensor, the driver condition determination module is configured to determine a condition of the driver based on readings of the second sensor; and a hazardous driving prevention module in communication with the driver recognition module and driver condition determination, the hazardous driving prevention module is configured to determine and perform one or more actions of a predetermined set of actions based on the determined identity and determined condition of the driver.

Methods and apparatus for training a classification device with constrained capabilities

A method for training a classification device, the method comprising: receiving classification device constraints at an intermediary device; receiving training data at the intermediary device; matching the training data to the classification device constraints to provide constrained training data; mapping the constrained training data to classification device functionality to provide a command model; and transmitting the command model to the classification device.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A VEHICLE FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE

A system for controlling a vehicle from outside the vehicle includes a voice receiving device, a first safety detection device, a second safety detection device, and a voice control device. The first safety detection device may recognize a vehicle user by using a mobile device associated with the vehicle user, and determine that a first safety condition is satisfied when the mobile device is approaching the vehicle. The second safety detection device may determine that a second safety condition is satisfied when a voiceprint of voice information received from the voice receiving device matches a pre-stored voiceprint. The voice control device may be switched from a sleep state to a wake-up state when the first safety condition is satisfied, control the voice receiving device to receive the voice information, recognize the voice information when the second safety condition is satisfied, and output a control instruction based on a recognition result.

System for detecting the intention of a user to open a hatch of a vehicle

A system for detecting an intent to open a hatch of a vehicle includes an identifier having means for recording the intent to open a hatch, where the identifier authenticates itself with an electronic control unit, and receives from the ECU a request for confirmation of intent to open a hatch. Following receipt of the request for confirmation of intent to open a hatch, the existence of a command confirming intent to open a hatch in a memory in the identifier is verified. When the command is initiated, a command signal is sent corresponding to the command confirming intention to open a hatch. The electronic control unit is integrated in the vehicle and authenticates the identifier, locates the identifier in proximity to the hatch, sends the request for confirmation of intent to open a hatch, and receives the command signal corresponding to the command confirming intent to open a hatch.
