Disclosed herein is an electric brake system including: a hydraulic feeder configured to move a piston forward or backward according to a pedal effort from a brake pedal to discharge oil; a motor position sensor configured to measure a position of the piston; and a controller configured to control, when an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control starts, a change in direction of the piston based on predicted displacement information of the piston while the ABS control is performed such that the piston is at a target position at target vehicle speed.

Method for testing a pressure-medium-operated electronic brake system

A method for testing a pressure-medium-operated electronic brake system of a vehicle having a valve and sensor device including a control pressure inlet, a control pressure outlet, a plurality of valves selected from electrically activated inlet valves, outlet valves, redundancy valves, and pressure valves, an actual pressure sensor for measuring an actual control pressure, a setpoint pressure sensor for measuring a setpoint control pressure, and an electronic control unit, which has a signal-conducting connection to the electrically activated valves and pressure sensors, for receiving pressure signals and actuating the electrically activated valves, includes testing the setpoint pressure sensor while the control unit is in a passive operating mode, passing the setpoint control pressure directly through to the control pressure outlet, measuring the actual pressure at the control pressure outlet using a sensor, and transmitting the measured value to the control unit for plausibility checking against the setpoint pressure measurement.

Method of controlling switching to manual driving mode in autonomous vehicle equipped with foldable pedal device

A method of controlling switching to a manual driving mode in an autonomous vehicle provided with a foldable pedal device is provided. In the method, when a signal for switching a driving mode from an autonomous driving mode to the manual driving mode is generated in an autonomous vehicle provided with a foldable accelerator pedal device and a foldable brake pedal device, whether it is possible to switch the driving mode to the manual driving mode is determined by checking safety conditions; when the safety conditions are satisfied, it is determined whether a pop-up position of a pad of the foldable accelerator pedal device and a pop-up position of a pad of the foldable brake pedal device are normal pop-up positions, respectively; and only when the positions are the respective normal pop-up positions, the driving mode is switched to the manual driving mode.

Automatic brake pedal control

A vehicle has a braking system including a brake pedal and a controller. The controller may cause the brake pedal to move to a predetermined position responsive to automatic application of braking torque by the braking system. The controller may further implement an update such that the predetermined position corresponds to zero braking torque.

According to at least one embodiment, the present disclosure provides a method of controlling a brake of a vehicle, the method comprising: a process of determining a pressure difference between channel pressure, which is determined by hydraulic pressure of the wheel brake, and required braking pressure by means of the controller; a process of opening the control valve by means of the controller when the channel pressure is larger than the required braking pressure; and a process of controlling the control valve on the basis of the difference between the required braking pressure and the channel pressure.

DETECTING AIR IN A BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND BLEEDING THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER OF A HYDRAULIC POWER BRAKE SYSTEM

In order to detect air in a brake master cylinder within a hydraulic power brake system, a brake master cylinder pressure on actuation of the brake master cylinder is compared with a comparison pressure which prevails in the brake master cylinder when it is air-free. For bleeding, brake fluid is conveyed with a power brake pressure generator through the in this case non-actuated brake master cylinder into a pressureless brake fluid reservoir, where air escapes from the brake fluid.

FOLDABLE PEDAL APPARATUS FOR VEHICLES

A foldable pedal apparatus for vehicles is provided in which pedal pads are rotated rearwards from a footrest panel and thus enter a pop-up state to be manipulable by a driver in a manual driving mode in which the driver directly drives a vehicle. The pedal pads are rotated forwards maximally close to the front surface of the footrest panel and thus enter a hidden state without exposure to be nonmanipulable by the driver in an autonomous driving situation.

A foldable pedal apparatus for a vehicle includes pedal assemblies including pedal arms and pedal pads that are rotated rearwards and are thus popped up to a driver so as to be operated by the driver in a manual driving mode in which the driver directly drives a vehicle. Also, the pedal assemblies including the pedal arms and the pedal pads may be rotated forwards and upwards, so as to be located close to a front surface of a footrest panel and thus enter a hidden state in which exposure of the pedal assemblies to the driver is interrupted so as not to be operated by the driver in an autonomous driving situation.
