System and method of braking for a patient support apparatus

A patient support apparatus includes a base having a length and including a plurality of caster wheels enabling movement of the patient support apparatus across a floor surface. An auxiliary wheel support structure is secured to the base and rotatably supports at least one non-castered auxiliary wheel. A drive mechanism including a motor may be configured to drive the auxiliary wheel. A braking system including at least one brake member may be configured to apply a braking force to decelerate the auxiliary wheel and is movable between a first position wherein the at least one brake member is disengaged from the auxiliary wheel and a deployed position wherein the at least one brake member is frictionally engaged with the auxiliary wheel to restrict rotation of the auxiliary wheel. The braking system may be configured to synchronize the braking forces applied to first and second auxiliary wheels.

Motorized wheelbarrow

A motorized wheelbarrow including a motor and a drive pulley that rotates when the motor is operating. The motorized wheelbarrow also includes wheels and a drive train assembly for transmitting power from the motor to the wheels. The motorized wheelbarrow also includes a clutch assembly movable between a connected condition, in which the motor and the drive train assembly are connected by the clutch assembly, and a disconnected condition, in which the motor and the drive train assembly are not connected with each other, and a brake assembly movable between an engaged condition, in which the brake assembly resists rotation of the wheels, and a disengaged condition, in which the brake assembly does not resist rotation of the wheels. Both of the clutch assembly and the brake assembly are controlled by a single control assembly so that the clutch assembly and the brake assembly are mutually functionally exclusive.

This electric braking device is provided with: an electric motor MTR that, in accordance with an operation amount Bpa of a braking operation member BP, generates a pressing force Fba, being a force pressing a friction member MSB against a rotary member KTB that rotates integrally with a wheel WHL of the vehicle; and a circuit board KBN to which a processor MPR and a bridge circuit BRG are mounted. The device is further provided with a rotation angle sensor MKA for detecting the rotation angle Mka of the electric motor, and drives the electric motor MTR on the basis of the rotation angle Mka. An end face Mmk of the rotation angle sensor MKA is fixed so as to be in contact with the circuit board KBN. The device is further provided with a pressing force sensor FBA for detecting the pressing force Fba, and drives the electric motor MTR on the basis of the pressing force Fba. An end face Mfb of the pressing force sensor FBA is fixed so as to be in contact with the circuit board KBN.

Railroad tank car fittings

A railroad tank car may have external fittings, such as brake fittings. A low mount brake fitting is located in a recess formed in the end sill of the car or in the side sill of the car between the main bolster and the end sill. Where an end sill installation is used, the end sill may be asymmetric, with the recess being formed to one side of the center sill. Alternatively, the end sill may be offset longitudinally away from the striker, and a spacer inserted.

Railroad tank car fittings

A railroad tank car may have external fittings, such as brake fittings. A low mount brake fitting is located in a recess formed in the end sill of the car or in the side sill of the car between the main bolster and the end sill. The pulley arrangement is configured to direct the drive belt from the drive pulley to a driven pulley on the drive device. The pulley arrangement comprises at least one idler pulley having a diameter and a rotational axis.

Also included is a cover that, responsive to being connected in the handlebar tube, defines with the hydraulic cylinder in the handlebar tube a compensating chamber therebetween.
