Wheel sensors within vehicular brake assemblies

Detectable indicia are provided on the interior circumferential rim of the brake hub-drum adjacent to, and spaced apart from, the backing plate of the brake. A sensor is mounted on the backing plate to detect wheel speed and/or other operating conditions detectable from the motion and/or relative location or condition of those indicia. The number of indicia used and the indicia spacing along the interior circumferential rim is selected as needed for a given type of sensor and/or a given application. In the case of a speed sensor, the indicia can be a series of notches in the rim along the entire interior circumferential rim, resembling a series of teeth into that rim. The width of those teeth can be formed wide enough to accommodate movement of the hub-drum relative to the backing plate and/or the sensor, without loss of system functionality, according to the sensing tolerances of a given sensor being used in a given application.

MULTI-CONDUCTOR CABLE FOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MULTI-CONDUCTOR CABLE FOR VEHICLE

A multi-conductor cable for a vehicle includes core wires respectively having a conductor formed by a plurality of twisted wires, and an insulating layer covering an outer periphery of the conductor, and a sheath layer disposed around the core wires. A marking portion is partially formed on an outer peripheral surface of the sheath layer, and a ratio of an arithmetic average roughness Ra2 of a peripheral region adjacent to the marking portion, with respect to an arithmetic average roughness Ra1 of the marking portion, at the outer peripheral surface, is 0.10 or greater and 0.90 or less.

VEHICLE DECELERATION CONTROLLER
20200398804 · 2020-12-24 ·

A vehicle deceleration controller includes: a brake pedal; an accelerator pedal which is operated when an acceleration/deceleration request of a vehicle is inputted; a target acceleration/deceleration setting part configured to set a target deceleration based on a deceleration operation of the accelerator pedal; and an acceleration/deceleration control part configured to, when the accelerator pedal is operated to decelerate the vehicle, provide deceleration control over the vehicle such that an actual deceleration follows the target deceleration set by the target acceleration/deceleration setting part. In a case where the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are operated simultaneously, the acceleration/deceleration control part is configured to, when a required deceleration level based on a deceleration operation of the brake pedal is present nearer an acceleration side, compared to a previously-set reference deceleration, then provide deceleration control over the vehicle, such that the actual deceleration follows the reference deceleration.

Wheel speed sensor with integrated clamping sleeve

A wheel speed sensor includes a housing having a longitudinal axis. The housing receives a speed measurement instrument and faces an exciter ring upon insertion into an opening in a sensor mounting block spaced from the excite ring such that the instrument senses rotation of the exciter ring. A plurality of springs are mounted in the housing and project radially outwardly therefrom with at least a subset of the springs engaging a surface of the opening in the sensor mounting block. Each spring has first and second ends over molded by the housing and an intermediate section between the first and second ends spaced from a radially outer surface of the housing.

A pole wheel is provided. The pole wheel can be mounted on a brake disk of a vehicle wheel brake. The pole wheel has apertures which are uniformly distributed over its circumference and which are spaced apart from one another by radial webs. The pole wheel has an axially protruding bulge radially above its apertures and radial webs.

BRAKE SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD OF BRAKE SYSTEM

A brake system capable of accurately controlling a braking force includes a first and second brake devices that have different control accuracies, and a brake control device that controls a braking force of the first and second braking devices according to a required braking force. The brake control device has a first control mode in which the braking force of the first brake device is controlled to be smaller than the braking force of the second brake device, and a second control mode in which the braking force of the first brake device is increased rather than the first control mode. The second brake device is controlled so that a sum of the braking force of the first brake device and the braking force of the second brake device matches the required braking force.

FIXING STRUCTURE

A fixing structure includes a housing including a first hole, an input member including a second hole, and rotating relative to the housing, depending on input of rotational force, a torsion spring being biased so as to return, to a predetermined reference position, a position of the input member relative to the housing, and a fixing member inserted into the first hole and the second hole in a state where the input member is rotated against biasing force of the torsion spring from the reference position to a predetermined rotational position. The fixing member includes a first insertion portion including a part press-fitted into and fixed to the first hole, and a second insertion portion including a part inserted into the second hole, and fixes the input member at the predetermined rotational position.

Thermally isolated composite exciter ring

A composite exciter ring for use in a vehicle brake system includes a base layer and a cover layer that is disposed on the base layer. The base layer is made of a ceramic material that insulates the cover layer from a heat source generated during brake activation. The cover layer is made of a plastic material and that defines openings. Each opening exposes a different part of the base layer. The ceramic material includes an additive infused therein. The additive has an effect on a magnetic field.
