Travel control device for vehicle
A travel control device for a vehicle executes a self-driving control based on traveling environment information on which the vehicle travels and traveling information on the vehicle. In the device, a traveling environment information acquisition unit acquires the traveling environment information. A traveling information detection unit detects the traveling information. An unstable behavior detector detects an unstable behavior in one or both of a rolling direction and a yaw direction of the vehicle. A steering wheel holding state detector detects a state in which a driver holds a steering wheel. The first unstable behavior reducer reduces the detected unstable behavior by correcting a steering angle. A second unstable behavior reducer reduces the detected unstable behavior by selecting a predetermined wheel and applying a braking force to the wheel. A vehicle behavior controller freely operates the unstable behavior reducers according to detection results.
Method for Operating a Rotating-Mass Device of a Two-Wheeled Vehicle, Rotating-Mass Device and Two-Wheeled Vehicle
A method for operating a rotating-mass device and a rotating mass device of a two-wheeled vehicle are provided. The rotating-mass device includes first and second gyroscopic instruments, each with a cardanically mounted rotating-mass device suitable for generating torque about their respective rotation axes. Pivoting of the rotating-mass devices is coordinated to influence motion of the two-wheeled vehicle about three orthogonal vehicle axes.
Work machine stability control system
An autonomous stability control system may include a sensing system configured to collect position and orientation data about a work machine on a construction site and a controller. The controller may be configured to receive or generate a work path plan, operate the work machine according to the work path plan, continually or periodically monitor the orientation data from the sensing system, compare the orientation data to a vibration slope threshold, and, when the orientation data exceeds the vibration slope threshold, deactivate a vibration system of the work machine.
Vehicle Dynamics System Adjustment
A method for adjusting one or more vehicle dynamics systems of a vehicle, the vehicle comprising a road wheel and at least one vehicle sensor configured to provide vehicle condition data, the road wheel comprising a tyre sensor configured to output tyre operation data, the method comprising: receiving tyre operation data from the tyre sensor; receiving vehicle condition data from at least one vehicle sensor; calculating one or more vehicle dynamics parameters based on the vehicle condition data and the tyre operation data; and adjusting one or more vehicle dynamics systems in response to the calculated one or more vehicle dynamics parameters.
ROLLOVER CONTROL ALGORITHM
According to one embodiment, a vehicle can be implemented with a drive-by-wire controller which operates subsystems of the vehicle such as throttle, brakes, and steering based on electrical signals from transducers on the vehicle controls and without a direct physical link between the controls, such as the steering wheel, and the components of the corresponding vehicle subsystem. In such cases, the stability control feature of the vehicle can be adapted to detect conditions such as oversteering which can make the vehicle unstable and unsafe and can adjust the steering and other controls of the vehicle to correct the unstable or unsafe condition regardless of the physical input on the steering wheel and other controls.
Performance of autonomous control
In various example embodiments, a system and method for determining a total weight of a vehicle, transmitting the total weight measured to the vehicle's autonomous control system, and controlling the vehicle according to the total weight of the vehicle. The system and method further transmits information between separate vehicles with similar autonomous control systems. A method includes: providing predetermined calibration settings relating drive force to motor speed for a vehicle travelling at various speeds, determining that one or more vehicle performance parameters fall within a threshold range, determining the vehicle's longitudinal acceleration and drive force, determining a total weight comprising a weight of the vehicle and a weight being hauled by the vehicle; transmitting the total weight to the autonomous control system, and controlling the vehicle according to total weight of the vehicle.
METHOD FOR PREDCTIVE ROLLOVER PREVENTION OF A VEHICLE
A method for preventing a rollover of a vehicle or a tractor-trailer combination in curves, by counteracting a rollover risk of the vehicle by independent regulating interventions, performed without action by a vehicle driver, in a regulation system that actuates the drive and/or the brakes of the vehicle, the method including: capturing the current driving situation and the current load of the vehicle or the tractor-trailer combination as to the current driving position of the vehicle or the tractor-trailer combination, ascertaining a maximum admissible transverse acceleration at the current driving position, at which maximum admissible transverse acceleration the vehicle or the tractor-trailer combination just does not roll over, as to the current driving situation and the current load of the vehicle or the tractor-trailer combination. Also described is a related apparatus for preventing a rollover of a vehicle or a tractor-trailer combination in curves.
VEHICLE
A vehicle is configured to travel, when a vehicle velocity is within a velocity range from not less than a first velocity of at least zero to not more than a second velocity larger than the first velocity, in a mode in which a vehicle body is leaned by a lean mechanism according to an input into an operation input unit, and a wheel angle of a turn wheel changes following a lean of the vehicle body. A natural frequency of roll oscillation of the vehicle body is either within a range of smaller than a reference frequency or within a range of larger than the reference frequency, the reference frequency being a frequency at which oscillation of the wheel angle of the turn wheel has phase delay of 90 degrees relative to the roll oscillation of the vehicle body in its width direction.
