Dynamic stop time threshold selection for hands-free driving
A vehicle includes an automated driving assistance system that controls maneuvering of the vehicle under certain conditions. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the driving assistance system dynamically selects a threshold stop time corresponding to a duration of time that the vehicle can remain stopped before the driving assistance system will either detect a physical action from the user to resume automated driving assistance or time out and cease the driving assistance.

A METHOD AND A CONTROL UNIT FOR STOPPING A VEHICLE WHEN STOPPING AT DIFFERENT TYPES OF STOP POSITIONS
The invention relates to a method for a control unit (10) for stopping a vehicle (1) when stopping at different types of stop positions (2, 3, 4), the method comprising the following steps: —(S1) the control unit receiving input about a specific stop position for the vehicle, associated with when the vehicle is about to stop during a stopping sequence, the input being indicative of whether the specific stop position requires a high-precision stop or if a stop with a lower precision can be used; and —(S2) when the stop position requires a high-precision stop, the control unit controlling the stopping sequence such that the vehicle stops with a first stopping precision level with respect to the specific stop position, and when a lower precision can be used for the stop, the control unit controlling the stopping sequence such that the vehicle stops with a second stopping precision level which is lower than the first precision level. The invention further relates to a control unit and to a vehicle comprising the control unit.

The vehicle control device includes a start determination unit configured to determine whether or not the inter-vehicle distance between the preceding vehicle and the host vehicle has become equal to or greater than a start threshold greater in value than the stop threshold, and a vehicle control unit configured to start the host vehicle based on a preset speed profile after the start determination unit determines that the inter-vehicle distance between the preceding vehicle and the host vehicle is equal to or greater than the start threshold and maintain the stopped state of the host vehicle until the start determination unit determines that the inter-vehicle distance between the preceding vehicle and the host vehicle is equal to or greater than the start threshold after the preceding vehicle and the host vehicle stop.
