ELECTRIC DRIVE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

A method includes monitoring one or more of an ambient condition or an operational condition of a vehicle system while the vehicle system is stationary and a propulsion system of the vehicle system is operating at an idle speed, determining whether the one or more of the ambient condition or the operational condition satisfy one or more reduced auxiliary or parasitic load criteria, reducing one or more of an auxiliary load or a parasitic load responsive to determining that the one or more ambient condition or the operational condition satisfy the one or more reduced auxiliary or parasitic load criteria, and subsequently reducing the idle speed at which the propulsion system is operating to a slower speed following reducing the one or more of the auxiliary load or the parasitic load.

The disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for vehicle anti-collision control, a computer device, a computer-readable storage medium, and a vehicle, which are applied to the technical field of automobiles. The method includes: receiving information about a rear vehicle status and a relative distance between a vehicle behind and a present vehicle; when the information about the status indicates that there is a vehicle coming from behind and the relative distance between the vehicle behind and the present vehicle is less than a pre-determined distance, calculating an estimated time T for which the present vehicle is to be rear-ended by the vehicle behind; and performing an anti-collision operation for the present vehicle if T<T.sub.threshold, where T.sub.threshold is a pre-determined first anti-collision time threshold.

HYBRID VEHICLE ENGINE IDLING CONTROL

Aspects of the present invention relate to a method and to a control system for controlling an engine and an electric traction motor of a vehicle, the control system comprising one or more controllers, wherein the control system is configured to: receive an indication of engine speed during engine idling; and control the electric traction motor to reduce a difference between the engine speed and an engine idle speed target

A vehicle control method is provided such that when a host vehicle is stopped at a front of a vehicle line of vehicles in accordance with a stop signal of a traffic light at an intersection, the engine is stopped by using an idle stop control. When either a left-turn or a right-turn will be made after the traffic light changes to a go signal, a presence or an absence of a traveling body, which is stopped on a side of or behind the host vehicle in a direction from which the host vehicle is turning, is detected during the stop signal. Upon determining the traveling body is stopped on the side of host vehicle, restarting of the engine is placed on standby even when the traffic light turns to the go signal, and the engine is restarted in accordance with a behavior of the traveling body.

Method and system for vehicle stop/start control

Methods and systems are presented for improving performance of a vehicle operating in a cruise control mode where a controller adjusts torque output from a vehicle to maintain vehicle speed within a desired range. The methods and systems include adapting a vehicle dynamics model and a vehicle fuel consumption map that provide input to nonlinear model predictive controller.

Vehicle braking force control device

The present invention prevents occurrence of abnormal noise and swing of a vehicle in mitigating braking force of a steered wheel while reducing a steering load at the time of stationary steering to reduce a burden of a steering device and reducing stress accumulation due to stationary steering to reduce burdens of a tire, a suspension device and the steering device. The present invention includes a stop braking force control unit 202 that individually controls braking forces of steered wheels 51 and 52 and non-steered wheels 53 and 54 at the time of deceleration of the vehicle, and a pre-detection unit 203 that detects steering in a stopped state of the vehicle in advance, in which the stop braking force control unit executes, when the steering in a stopped state of the vehicle is detected in advance by the pre-detection unit, braking force mitigation control to decrease the braking forces of the steered wheels to be lower than the braking forces at the time of normal braking.

Vehicle parked mode control

A vehicle control system for a vehicle, the vehicle control system comprising a controller, wherein the controller has an activatable secondary parked mode in which the controller automatically controls a plurality of components of the vehicle, each component also being controllable by a corresponding user control, and activation of the secondary parked mode changes the state of each component from an in-use state to a parked state when the vehicle attends a delivery or collection.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPERATION OF A VEHICLE

A method for controlling operation of a vehicle. The method includes: providing information on geographical position of a first (starting) location and a second (destination) location and on length and topography for at least one possible route to be taken by the vehicle from the first location to the second location; calculating, based on vehicle conditions and on length and topography for the at least one possible route, a plan for how to control the powertrain system to achieve an energy efficient performance of the powertrain system if driving the vehicle along said at least one possible route. The method further includes: setting the vehicle in a non-drive off mode that prevents the vehicle from driving off from the first location, and setting the vehicle in a normal operation mode that allows drive off from the first location when calculating the plan has been carried out.

A driving control system including a sensor unit, a data storage unit and a control unit. The sensor unit is arrangeable in the vehicle and configured to detect at least one driving parameter of the vehicle during travelling. The control unit is configured to generate at least one driving mode based on the at least one driving parameter. The data storage unit is configured to store the at least one driving mode. The control unit is configured to receive an input whether the vehicle continues traveling in a current driving mode or changes to one of the driving modes stored in the data storage unit. The control unit is further configured to simulate the driving mode based on the input, even though the vehicle stops travelling.
