An incubator tray includes a body that defines: (i) a first surface and a second surface that defines a sealed void therebetween; (ii) an inlet that, in use, permits inflow of fluid into the void defined between the first and second surfaces of the body; (iii) an outlet that, in use, permits outflow of fluid from the void defined between the first and second surfaces of the body; (iv) a plurality of bores that extend between the first and second surfaces, through the void defined between the first and second surfaces, wherein: each bore is open at both axial ends, and a first axial end of the bore proximal the first surface is larger in cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of a second axial end of the bore proximal the second surface; and (v) a temperature sensor associated with each bore. In use, an object to be incubated that is: undersized relative to the cross-sectional area of the first axial end of a bore; and oversized relative to the cross-sectional area of the second axial end of the bore, may be supported on the body, within a bore, with the open axial ends of the bore permitting ventilation through the bore, past the object.

Climate chamber and method for regulating the temperature of a climate chamber

A climate chamber that can include a temperature-controlled compartment containing a product such as hatching eggs, chickens, or chicks, a fan which gives off heat during operation, a supply channel extending from the fan up to the compartment, and a temperature sensor provided in the supply channel. An air stream is supplied to the compartment by the fan via the supply channel. The temperature of the air flowing through the supply channel is detected by the temperature sensor. The rotational speed of the ventilator is adjusted as a function of the temperature detected by the temperature sensor for influencing the temperature of air displaced by the fan.

METHODS FOR CONTROLLING SEX OF OVIPAROUS EMBRYOS USING LIGHT AND TEMPERATURE
20180271067 · 2018-09-27 · ·

The sex of embryos in eggs is influenced or controlled through the application of light having selected wavelengths and heat in order to promote the development of embryos of a selected sex. An incubating device is provided having an interior cavity that can be sealed from an outside, and having a plurality of lighting elements disposed in the interior cavity. Eggs are disposed on trays, and pre-determined environmental conditions are applied to the interior cavity to promote hatching of the eggs. Concurrently with the application of the environmental conditions, the eggs are irradiated according to pre-determined lighting conditions having wavelengths substantially concentrated in selected ranges In some embodiments, the temperature of the incubator is kept above or below the optimal incubation temperature.
