ELECTRIC DRIVE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
An electric drive system for a vehicle and a method includes determining a headroom target for a drive system of a vehicle that includes an engine. The method includes determining whether a current speed of the engine can be decreased while the engine continues to provide a requested traction output of the drive system, and responsive to determining that the current speed of the engine can be decreased, decreasing the current speed of the engine to a reduced speed while the engine maintains the headroom target determined by the drive system.
ELECTRIC DRIVE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
An electric drive system for a vehicle and method includes controlling a propulsion system of the vehicle to operate according to a first torque-speed relationship between a power generated by an engine and a speed of the engine. The engine is controlled according to the first torque-speed relationship during acceleration of the vehicle by motors that are powered by operation of the engine. The method includes determining that operation of the propulsion system has reached a steady state following the propulsion system operating according to the first torque-speed relationship and controlling the propulsion system to operate according to a second torque-speed relationship between the power and the speed of the engine. The second torque-speed relationship is reduced relative to the first torque-speed relationship such that the engine speed in the first torque-speed relationship is associated with a greater amount of power than in the second torque-speed relationship.
Apparatus of controlling hybrid vehicle and method thereof
An apparatus of controlling a hybrid vehicle may include: an engine; a drive motor to assist the power of the engine and selectively operate as a generator to generate electrical energy; a battery to supply electrical energy; a first intake valve disposed in a first intake line; a second intake valve disposed in a second intake line; a first electric supercharger disposed in the first intake line; a second electric supercharger disposed in the second intake line; a connecting valve disposed in a connecting line for connecting the first intake line and the second intake line; and a controller that determines a driving mode of the first and second electric superchargers. In particular, the controller controls the drive motor and the first and second electric superchargers based on a supercharger consumed energy, an additional fuel energy, and a drive motor consumed energy.
Vehicle control device
A vehicle control device controls a hybrid vehicle including: an internal combustion engine having an EGR device; an electric drive device that drives the vehicle and performs an engine-based power generation; a power storage device; and a travel route acquisition device. The vehicle include an EV drive mode and an HV drive mode. The vehicle control device is configured to: where the vehicle is started under a cold condition, calculate, based on the travel route information, an average vehicle driving power in a vehicle running section under a warm condition after the start; and limit the amount of power generated by the engine-based power generation in the cold condition to be smaller when the calculated average vehicle driving power is high than when it is low, and, during the HV drive mode after a transition to the warm condition, execute the engine-based power generation accompanied by the EGR.
AUTOMATED DYNAMIC THROTTLE REQUEST FILTERING
Dynamic throttle pedal filtering of a vehicle is provided. An automated throttle filtering system may be included in the vehicle that may operate to filter throttle pedal input based on detection of a rough driving surface. The rough driving surface detection may be based on an evaluation of wheel speed signals or an indication of traction loss. The throttle pedal input may be filtered corresponding to rough driving surface magnitude values determined based on the wheel speed signals. For example, filtered torque demand values may be determined based on the rough driving surface magnitude values and included in a torque demand request communicated to the vehicle's powertrain system. The resulting torque output may modulate an undesirable oscillating torque demand that may be generated in relation to operation of the vehicle on a rough driving surface.
HYBRID VEHICLE ENGINE IDLING CONTROL
Aspects of the present invention relate to a method and to a control system for controlling an engine and an electric traction motor of a vehicle, the control system comprising one or more controllers, wherein the control system is configured to: receive an indication of engine speed during engine idling; and control the electric traction motor to reduce a difference between the engine speed and an engine idle speed target
Control system for hybrid vehicle
A control system for a hybrid vehicle configured to suppress a temperature rise in a transmission while achieving a required driving force without modifying a cooling system. If a temperature in the transmission is lower than a threshold level during propulsion in a hybrid mode, a controller operates an engine at an optimally fuel efficient point. If the temperature in the transmission system is equal to or higher than the threshold level during propulsion in a hybrid mode, the controller shifts the operating point of the engine to the point at which the heat generation in the transmission system can be suppressed.
Driving force control apparatus for vehicle
The driving force ECU calculates a restricted driving force for a driving force restricting control, by using a Proportional-Integral-Differential control formula which utilizes a difference between a target acceleration varied depending on a vehicle speed and an actual acceleration of the vehicle. The driving force ECU adjusts (changes) a proportion gain K1 of the Proportional-Integral-Differential control formula based on an inclination angle θ of a road in such a manner that a value of the proportion gain K1 used when the inclination inclination angle θ is relatively large is smaller than a value of the proportion gain K1 used when the inclination inclination angle θ is relatively small. The driving force ECU performs a driving force restricting control by selecting, as a target driving force used for the driving force restricting control, a pedal required driving force or the restricted driving force, whichever is smaller.
Control device for hybrid vehicle
When a speed difference between a maximum rotation speed and an engine rotation speed, that is, an actual rotation speed difference, is equal to or less than a margin rotation speed difference, an engine operating point is changed such that the actual rotation speed difference becomes greater than the margin rotation speed difference. Accordingly, the speed difference between the maximum rotation speed and the engine rotation speed is prevented from becoming equal to or less than the margin rotation speed difference. As a result, since a relatively sufficient margin is secured in the difference between the maximum rotation speed and the engine rotation speed, it is possible to prevent the engine rotation speed from falling into a high-rotation state in which the engine rotation speed exceeds the maximum rotation speed.
