A method for controlling an automatic transmission includes reducing, by a controller, a number of rotation of the engine connected to the automatic transmission to the first number of rotation when a shifting of the automatic transmission is started. The method further includes reducing, by the controller, a line pressure that is a hydraulic pressure of a flow line that operates the automatic transmission when the shifting of the automatic transmission is started.

In the present invention, when an engine of a hybrid vehicle is in a cooled state, a control device 70 thereof performs control so as to disengage an engine clutch 14 configured from a wet multi-disc clutch and supply electrical power to a motor generator 21 from a high-voltage battery 24 to rotationally drive the motor generator 21 in order to agitate clutch oil 86 in the engine clutch 14 and raise the temperature thereof.

Method and system for engine starting control

Methods and systems are provided for restarting an engine when a high pressure fuel pump is degraded. In response to an indication of high pressure fuel pump degradation, fuel may be injected during an intake stroke, rather than a compression stroke, for a selected number of combustion events since the engine restart. By shifting to an intake stroke injection, the engine may be started even when sufficient fuel rail pressures are not available.

Vehicle transmission hydraulic circuit fill time learn

A system for controlling transmission shifting includes a controller that receives a shift request signal and determines if a clutch has been unapplied for more than a predetermined time. With a yes determination, a maximum fill time value for hydraulic fluid to be applied to a clutch control circuit is determined, the maximum fill time value being a function of time the clutch has been unapplied and temperature. A signal indicative of an amount of engine RPM flare after the transmission executes the requested shift is received and a modified maximum fill time value is determined as a function of this flare. The modified maximum fill time value is stored as a replacement for the maximum fill time value for use with a subsequent transmission shifts using this clutch, and reduces an amount of air in the control circuit and an amount of flare with subsequent transmission shifts.
