AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE OPERATING STATUS ASSESSMENT
Methods and systems for monitoring use, determining risk, and pricing insurance policies for a vehicle having one or more autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, a computer-implemented method for real-time determination of the status of autonomous operation features of an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be provided. With the customer's permission, the operation of the autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be monitored to obtain operating data from one or more autonomous operation features. An operating status of the autonomous features may be determined based upon the operating data. After which, a change in the operating status of the autonomous features may be identified, and a report containing information regarding the change in the operating status of the autonomous features may be generated. Insurance discounts may be provided to risk averse customers that maintain their autonomous vehicles, and associated accident avoidance functionality, in good working condition.
Device and Method for Interacting Between a Vehicle Capable of Being Driven in an at Least Partially Automated Manner and a Vehicle User
A device and operating method are provided for an interaction between a vehicle, which can travel in an at least partially automated manner, with an operator control element, which can be operated by the user of the vehicle for influencing at least the transverse guidance of the vehicle. A wheel positioning angle and/or a drive torque or braking torque at at least one wheel of the vehicle can be controlled in response to an operator control action at the operator control element or as a function of a control unit for controlling at least partially automated travel. Depending on the degree of haptic contact between the user of the vehicle and the operator control element, at least one movement of the vehicle can be executed on the basis of one or more operator control actions of the user and/or on the basis of data of the control unit for controlling the at least partially automated travel.
Coordinated vehicle response system and method for driver behavior
Methods of assessing driver behavior include monitoring vehicle systems and driver monitoring systems to accommodate for a slow reaction time, attention lapse and/or alertness of a driver. When it is determined that a driver is drowsy, for example, the response system may modify the operation of one or more vehicle systems. The response system can modify the control of two or more systems simultaneously in response to driver behavior.
Vehicle and method for supporting driving safety thereof
A method for adjusting a driving control authority of a vehicle includes: generating stimulation for a driver using a stimulation generator; measuring a driver reaction signal in response to the generated stimulation using a measurement device; processing the measured driver reaction signal using a signal processor; determining a driver state based on the processed driver reaction signal using a determiner; and adjusting the driving control authority of the vehicle according to the determined driver state using a vehicle controller.
Method and assistance system for controlling a technical system
In order to control a technical system, a user control variable is read in and a plurality of control variable variants of the user control variable are generated. A respective trajectory of the technical system is extrapolated for the user control variable and for the control variable variants, for which a respective reliability is evaluated. Furthermore, a respective distance of each control variable variant to the user control variable is determined. The user control variable is then selected as a control signal for the technical system in the event that the trajectory extrapolated for the user control variable is evaluated as reliable. Otherwise, a control variable variant with an extrapolated trajectory evaluated as reliable is selected from the control variable variants as a control signal, wherein a control variable variant with a low distance is preferably selected. Finally, the control signal for controlling the technical system is emitted.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING A DANGEROUS SITUATION OF A VEHICLE AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes at least one processor configured to detect, by a sensor, a driving state of a vehicle or a driving state of another vehicle in a vicinity of the vehicle while the vehicle is being driven, obtain state data including the driving state of the vehicle and the driving state of the other vehicle, and use at least one data recognition model to determine a dangerous situation of the vehicle after a certain period of time while the vehicle is being driven, based on the obtained state data. The electronic apparatus may predict a dangerous situation of the vehicle by using a rule-based algorithm or an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm. The electronic apparatus predicts the dangerous situation of the vehicle by using at least one of machine learning, a neural network, and a deep learning algorithm.
Vehicle travel control apparatus
A vehicle travel control apparatus including a drive mode instruction switch instructing a manual drive mode or a self-drive mode and a processor configured to perform determining whether a deviation between a vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed detector and a target vehicle speed included in an action plan is equal to or less than a predetermined value, and controlling an actuator in the self-drive mode in accordance with the action plan. The microprocessor is further configured to perform switching to the self-drive mode when switching to the self-drive mode is instructed during an acceleration running in the manual drive mode, and controlling the actuator so as to maintain an acceleration in the manual drive mode at least until it is determined that the deviation is equal to or less than the predetermined value.
Driving support device
A pre-collision control ECU performs a pre-collision control in order to preventing a collision between the own vehicle and the object when a control start condition is satisfied. The ECU acquires a velocity threshold Vsth corresponding to a region in which the own vehicle travels based on information to specify the region. When an allowance condition has been satisfied before a timing at which the control start condition is satisfied, the ECU performs the pre-collision control. When the allowance condition has not been satisfied before the timing, the ECU does not perform the pre-collision control. The allowance condition is a condition that an accelerator operation amount is equal to or greater than an operation amount threshold and a vehicle velocity is equal to or lower than the acquired velocity threshold.
Autonomous vehicle accident and emergency response
Methods and systems for monitoring use, determining risk, and pricing insurance policies for a vehicle having one or more autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, the operating status of the features, the identity of a vehicle operator, risk levels for operation of the vehicle by the vehicle operator, or damage to the vehicle may be determined based upon sensor or other data. According to further aspects, decisions regarding transferring control between the features and the vehicle operator may be made based upon sensor data and information regarding the vehicle operator. Additional aspects may recommend or install updates to the autonomous operation features based upon determined risk levels. Some aspects may include monitoring transportation infrastructure and communicating information about the infrastructure to vehicles.
Autonomous vehicle automatic parking
Methods and systems for monitoring use, determining risk, and pricing insurance policies for a vehicle having autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, vehicle operation safety may be enhanced. An environmental or weather condition (e.g., hail, storm, wind) may be identified that presents a hazard to an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle. With the customer's permission, when it is determined that the vehicle is parked in an unprotected location, a protected or covered location to park the vehicle may be identified, a route to that location may be determined, and the vehicle may be directed to travel automatically to the protected location under the operation of autonomous operation features. Insurance discounts or cost savings may be provided to risk averse insurance customers based upon the self-parking functionality that will reduce or mitigate damage to insured vehicles caused by adverse conditions, falling trees or power lines, hail, etc.
