System, method, and apparatus for operating a high efficiency, high output transmission
A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift actuator selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft by rotatably coupling gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. An integrated actuator housing includes a single external power access for the shift actuator. A controller interprets controls the shift actuator with actuating and opposing pulses, and interprets a shaft displacement angle, determines if the transmission is in an imminent zero or zero torque region, and performs a transmission operation in response to the transmission in the imminent zero or zero torque region.
AUTO DRIVING CONTROL SYSTEM
An auto driving control system includes: a situation determining unit which recognizes a situation around the vehicle and determines whether automatic traveling is possible; a drive control unit which performs traveling control when the automatic traveling is possible; a state determining unit which determines whether an occupant is able to drive; and an estimation drive control unit configured such that when the automatic traveling is difficult and it is difficult for the occupant to take over the driving, and when it is determined that execution of a function of the automatic traveling is difficult due to a first sensor, the estimation drive control unit executes the function by using information of a second sensor, and performs traveling control of the vehicle, wherein the automatic traveling is continued based on a control instruction of the estimation drive control unit until the occupant becomes able to take over the driving.
Autonomous vehicle detection
A method and system for enabling an autonomous vehicle detection process is provided. The method includes detecting a sensor reading, of a sensor integrated with an autonomous vehicle, exceeding a specified threshold value. Additional sensor reading from additional vehicles located within a specified distance of the autonomous vehicle are received and compared to the original sensor reading. In response, a fault condition associated with the sensor is determined and an associated notification is presented to an occupant of the autonomous vehicle.
Travel control apparatus for vehicle
In a travel control apparatus for a vehicle, a travel environment information acquisition unit acquires travel environment information, and a travel information detector detects travel information relating to the vehicle. The apparatus executes automatic driving control based on such information pieces. A vehicle peripheral object detector detects an object around the vehicle, separately to the travel environment information acquisition unit. An environment information acquisition failure detector detects an acquisition failure in the travel environment information acquisition unit. Upon an acquisition failure of the travel environment information, an evacuation controller executes evacuation control by evacuating the vehicle to the roadside through automatic driving based on the travel environment information detected most recently before the acquisition failure and the travel information, and activates the vehicle peripheral object detector and, when an object is detected on the periphery around the vehicle, executes the evacuation control.
Method and device for calculating vehicle speed
A vehicle speed calculating device is provided. The device includes a first vehicle speed calculating module configured to calculate a first vehicle speed based on a vehicle speed pulse count of a vehicle, a second vehicle speed calculating module configured to calculate a second vehicle speed based on positioning signals broadcasted from positioning satellites, an acceleration acquiring module configured to acquire an acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor provided to the vehicle, an estimating module configured to estimate a speed error based on a correlative relationship of a difference value between the first and second vehicle speeds with the acceleration, and a correcting module configured to correct the first vehicle speed based on the speed error.
Remote sensor data for vehicles
Methods and systems are provided for using remote sensor data for a vehicle. The vehicle includes a control system, an interface, and a processor. The interface is configured to automatically obtain one or more remote sensor values via a wireless network from a remote source that is remote from the vehicle. The processor is coupled to the control system and the interface, and is configured to control one or more functions of the control system using the one or more remote sensor values.
CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN VEHICLE
While coolant is used to cool a motor inverter and a generator inverter included in a power drive unit configured to invert power between a battery and a motor/generator in both directions, an EV travel mode and a power generation travel mode are switched according to detection values from sensors in an electrically driven vehicle and including a switching device temperature sensor for a switching device of the inverters and a coolant temperature sensor, thereby controlling the vehicle. A failure of the coolant temperature sensor is detected according to a detection value from the coolant temperature sensor, and, in the EV travel mode, a detection value detected by the switching device temperature sensor for the switching device of the generator inverter is set as a detection value of a temperature of the coolant when the failure of the coolant temperature sensor is detected.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A DRIVE DEVICE AND CORRESPONDING HYBRID DRIVE DEVICE
The invention relates to a method for operating a hybrid drive device (2) which has an internal combustion engine (3) and an electric machine (4) which can be or is operatively connected to the internal combustion engine (3) and can be operated as a generator, wherein in a normal operating mode a temperature of the electric machine (4) is determined by means of a temperature sensor (14), and operation of the electric machine (4) is permitted only if the temperature is lower than a predefined maximum temperature. There is provision here that in the event of a defect in the temperature sensor (14) an emergency operating mode is carried out in which operation of the electric machine (4) is permitted only with limited power, limited torque and/or over a limited time period. The invention further relates to a hybrid drive device (2).
